I've been building bikes for 30 years just as my hobby, your bikes are by far the best builds. This shows how great your fit and finish is on every bike...what a very sweet ride, super nice job!
badass!!! for those of you that don't know, Mike at Taco Moto Co is a GOD when it comes to anything ktm, or any dirtbike for that matter. As far as innovation, rebuilding and maintenance and tuning is concerned, there's really nobody better than taco moto co. His product, bike and accessory knowledge is second to none. He treats every customer's bike like it's his own and doesn't cut corners anywhere. If you want it done right, there's no better place to take your bike than to mike and his team at taco moto co. while you're there ask him about the next taco tour coming up and be prepared to have a blast riding dirtbikes and chowing down on some bomb ass tacos. I promise you; it'll be an experience you won't forget. Braaaaaaaap!
Great build Mike that's exactly the build I'd do though on a 350 and with a bigger tank. Love the heat shields. One suggestion is heat shielding for the 6 inches inside the right leg behind the frame. I've burnt my soft luggage straps on that twice when laying the bike over with a hot bike. Only takes 3 seconds of contact to destroy a perfectly good strap on $1000 soft luggage.
LOL!! I see you are doing what I have for years by safety wiring brake clips. Also marking fasteners with Dykem Cross Check is a smart move. All it takes is one time losing a brake pin to ruin a ride!! Good job on the build Sir!!
Love the attention to detail. I swapped the chrome bolts on my P3 pipe guard with black titanium ones and it really cleans up the look. Just something to consider for future builds ✌🏻
we now have a full in house suspension shop and can do all WP set ups, A-kit programs, ohlins, and are developing a line of specialized internal components and kits. much more on all of this coming soon
This build gave me a couple of ideas for my own stocker, one of them being the Acerbis swingarm protector - I just wish I knew you have to REMOVE or modify the upper chain guide to get the rubber band and mount to fit. I thought about notching out a section, but it seems like a goofy solution. They could have moved the rubber band mount a few inches rearward to prevent that issue. FYI I'm not blaming Taco Moto for this, it was my fault for not researching enough.
Great video and bike as usual. How do you remove the forks with the top shrink covers? Also, installing the fork stanchion covers you must have to remove the forks to install, then cleaning the forks must be difficult because they don't have a zip or velcro fastening system. Is a strip out the forks to clean? Appreciate your time.
You guys rule! This build is insane. Any issues with front brake cables clearing hand guard mounts? I’ve tried several full wrap handguards and they all chew away at cables as the suspension is working up and down.
I just got a 2020 fe501 and it’s bogging a lot. I think it’s one of the fuel filters but I’m not sure. It’s only at the mid to top end of the powerband and doesn’t seem to always do it
Hi great work. I am in Saudi Arabia and I just bought used 2016 500 EXC six days. I want to change all the plastic and stickers on it. Any suggestions where I can buy them online from USA? I also need to change front and back tires. Would love your suggestion for sand/road. My chain rattles when I enter third gear. I checked the slack and it is in range as per manual. Any idea what could cause it?
Any idea where he got these graphics? I’ve been wanting to do a grey/white/orange design on my 2019 350 EXCF ALSO, what size are the tires he is running?
@@TACOMOTOCO Thanks for the reply. I couldn't tell as shown. I've seen some double wrapped and some single wrapped. I was wondering what y'all have had the best success with
@@TACOMOTOCO thanks for the reply. So by transit sections, you are saying good for a short ride, correct? I have to ride 3 hours to get to the trails to go off-road. I really want a bike to do BDR types of rides. I’m thinking maybe a 701 might be better. Thoughts?
It’d be great if you could let everyone know, what sort of money all this mod work costs, including parts and labor, plus or minus say $500usd , knowing that prices change, thanks.
Highly recommend Taco Moto’s Ultimate build program! The Ultimate build may not be for everyone but for what I wanted it was perfect. I didn’t want to do the labor myself, mainly because I suck at it. I also wanted my 24’ 501s to perform in all areas, from Baja to Colorado BDRs and everything in between. The bike has been awesome and for me and where I’m at in life it was worth every penny I spent on it!! Thanks again Mike and the crew!!
We don’t like to disclose what any particular customer spends on a specific bike but if a new machine came in looking to do a similar set up the budget would be in the $13-15k range plus the bike
I don’t even own a KTM, yet. But this build makes me want one even more.

Love the idea of Taco Moto Co. doing a full build then flying in and riding away...Let the planning/budgeting begin!
A+ on the build Mike. I have beat the hell out of 500 cc bikes and every mod you made has hard-trail merit. Well done. 🏁🤙

That thing is crazy man good work. This is a super nice looking bullet proof bike. Insane 👍🏼
Another great one, finally just got my 500 properly calibrated with the WIGET app so stoked
The graphics look amazing!!!
Can you expand on the heat shield? Is it simply wrapping the pipe near the shock?
Same here, more info would be awesome, especially a link to the heat wrap material that they used. @TACOMOTOCO , more info please!!!
Yes. You can see an additional heat shield on the radiator pipe he mentions.
Where can I get those mirrors?
Do you have a parts list?

Woof, love it, Should have had you do mine instead of my trying to do it myself! =)

Who makes the fold in mirrors behind the hand guards ?
I also want to know this, @TACOMOTOCO can you please share the link to this product?
Highway dirt bikes. They make the bark buster and the shield and the mirror

Great looking bike, was that a stock kickstand, I have 2023 and the stand doesn’t have enough lean. Any thoughts ?
Is there a SAMCO SPORT HOSE UPGRADE KIT for the 2024s now?!?
yes, should be up on the taco moto web site
@@TACOMOTOCO The Taco website lists hose kits for up to '23 EXC models only.
What tires are on there? Size?
What plastic kit is that on it?
heatshield products lava tube shield for the wrap above the exhaust
What’s the all-in cost? This looks incredible.
What’s the part # for the xtrig preload adjuster? their website doesn’t show anything definitive for ‘24 exc-f’s
Email us, we have the part number for this unit

all the extras on the bike and chose not to have a cushion hub because of weight?

Do you loose low end going to a graves slip on vs. this exhaust setup?
slightly yes. but the graves shines in the mid to top end and has lighter weight and looks for days.
Do yall do one wrap or multiple for the headers?
