She's just so lovely! The perfect embodiment of classic 1940 glam! Such a fantastic movie. I was immediately hooked.
@@Eurynomea really pleased you enjoyed it.
Even though it felt like a low-budget movie, I finished it, and it was… okay, I guess. Thanks for keeping me entertained! 🤭🫣
@@april_bee thanks for taking the time to watch. It definitely was low budget. :D
Low budget movies are better than the super high budget Hollywood films these days with the same old rehashed story.
What A FANTASTIC Movie, WONDERFUL Ghost Story,Loved Every Minute,Thank You, Sincerely Michael B.⭐⭐⭐⭐
@@MichaelBertsch-q2k Really made my day reading your comment. Thank you.
When my mum (now 91) was growing up in ireland she lived in many old old houses. Her parents loved buying these homed and would try to bring them to their former glory and then move on to the next. My mum used to tell us stories of waking up at night and seeing the ghost of an old fashioned maid at the foot of her bed(lacing her boots) and at night hearing horses and carriages coming up the driveway another one had a ballroom and they would hear music and dancing but there was no one there. Absolutely terrifying. I used to make her tell me again again but could not sleep alone for weeks after hearing them. This is a good film and there is a black and white version as well. I enjoyed it
@@dairelaffan7708 thank you for your story. That is really creepy! Id love to hear more stories
@@MrStitchfilms thank you. I have lots of them
"Not that I'm one to spread gossip, BUT...". My first AA Sponsor cured me of gossip by having me go to everyone I'd ever gossiped about, telling them what I said about them, and humbly asking their forgiveness. I've been cured for 24 years - it worked.
*I almost always read the comments before or during a video, and I was looking forward to watching this because of them. The house does have a cold, sterile, timelesness about it. I was wondering if it happens - that one person in a house could experience a severe haunting, and the other person or people in the house didn't ever see or hear a thing, I don't recall ever paying attention to 'who' was getting haunted, but I don't think I've seen many that only one person is experiencing the haunting. Thank you, this was a great video, I appreciate it.
@@ColleenLytle-sq8tx thank you for watching. Happy to hear you're 24 years going strong.
So funny, from the description of the title as posted I thought it was a movie made in the 1940's - a minute in I realized it clearly wasn't, info I found shows it was made in 2019. Thanks for posting - might want to clarify though
@@beckybrown9685 it is set in the 1940s
@@MrStitchfilmsno worries, it was obvious to me that it was a more recent movie.
@beckybrown9685 Are you serious with this question? Jeez..! 😵
@@MrStitchfilms yeah but "a 1940s movie" means something completely different.
Really liked this movie! I will definitely be watching it again down the road.😊❤

Well that was thoroughly enjoyable, held together right to the end , plaudits to all involved.

Excellent acting & story and no jump scares, loud music, sex and violence that most film relay on, it was like watching a film from days gne by
Really enjoyed watching this.
Off to find another I don't think I'll be disappointed
Thank you. Glad you really enjoyed it. If you want a suggestion of another film I made, look up children of Darkwood house on UA-cam. 😀
@MrStitchfilms
I've binge watched your short stories.. excellent.
And yes this is next on my list.
@susanhowarth6670 thank you. Really glad you enjoyed them. 😁
Children of Darkwood house isn't on my channel buts it's free to watch on another that hosts the film.
I appreciate these points as well.
I agree with you.
The 1940's (my grandparents were adults then, & died in the mid 1970's). The 1940's was a VERY restrained, snobby society. The servants knew their place as the middle class behaviour towards them ensured that. My mother was a servant ( I believe worse than some upper classes). It was a time of very very strict dress code & very restrained behaviour). Of course the war changed some of it. Am only telling you this 'cos filmmakers these days seem to think otherwise. HOWEVER, I enjoyed the film A LOT. I WANTED to watch until the end, which is testament to the acting, scripting etc etc. , AND the lighting was very good too. Thank you & good luck to all you did a sterling job. I'd imagine you had budget restraints. Good luck & look forward to more
@@paulinefriar6916 thank you really pleased you enjoyed this.
Out of curiosity are you from UK or Us?
A lot of stories I read from the UK with help were usually considered members of the family and respected a lot. I wanted to bring that across so Annabel felt like it was her home and not just a job.

Thank you, nearly changed Chanel, did end up watching it, but it felt like a play.
Enjoyable enough 😊
@@josephinecatherinemusso thank you.
The photo of the cult supposedly taken in 1865 was pretty funny. They didn't have the ability to take gotcha photos like that. And a servant telling her employer, "Now you're being ridiculous!" Pretty brave.
Nice to watch something that is realistic ❤

I really liked this movie. It did not have the gore, sex, and other stuff. This was a very nice movie and the end shocked me. I But it was a good shock by that I mean it was a good ending but not really what I expected but very good. Thank You and I hope you have more of these.

Getting scared at 44 min. I'll come back tomorrow. In the daylight!!! I do think you've done a fine job, indeed. It has me thinking of Elizabeth Bowen's "Demon Lover" short story. On steroids.
I finished as promised, ad it's a good thing I didn't watch at night. You went full Stephen King on me. Eek!
Enjoyable viewing. Does anyone know where this film was made, the outside library shot was the Long Eaton library, and the house looked like one of those houses near West Park, both in Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire, if anyone knows the area check it out.
Thanks for checking it out, I'm originally from Long Eaton, The library was indeed from there, the main house was in Nottingham near west bridgford but long gone now.

Enjoyed the film very much, but I’m not sure if Susanna’s sister died. ☺️
Really pleased you enjoyed it.
An excellent creepy errie chiller 🎬 movie that makes you jump and turns you blood to ice. When you hear the name Mrs Baylock ( nanny the omen ) , you know it's going to be chilling. A fab murder plot twist that keeps you guessing right up till the end. . Sad the maid annabel had to die. Pretty good, but...whoever did the costuming did not do their homework. The 40s were good, but for one thing. The 20s, not so much.

Well done though on this great storyline, very clever and with the background air raid sirens it enhanced the scariness. You did well on a very small budget amazing infact x❤
Considering the few actors and the one location - the house only - the movie is very good!❤🇮🇹🇬🇧Thank you!
Not really compelling, but they got most of the costuming right. The house would have had wallpaper though.

Lmfao, this attic has been locked away for yrs but when she breaks through, there are candles burning, OK 😂😂 ?
@@bettyalford1364 it's a supernatural film. Someone still using it.
If the second scene is meant to be in late 1944 or early 45, the only bombs being used would have been doodle bugs. This bit isn’t right.
Yes absolutely correct. It was all for dramatic purposes.
Good movie
Super bien regarde choses films vers bien 😊

Would I be right in assuming that Patricia was actually dead, had been killed when a bomb struck in her street in London, and came back to her sister's house. Happy ending though for she found her sister again and in death they are reunited.
