I'm a stay at home mom now also Sis!! And I wear any and all my scents at home lol. I'm just getting back into fragrances...especially since I'm not in a Chef coat all the time. So now I'm taking care of Mom, husband and 5 children and I need to know I can still clean up well. So at 50 I decided to wear foundation, shop for new clothes and perfumes. All the stuff I couldn't do in a white coat or in the kitchen. I'm having a ball going broke. It feels good to treat yourself.
I too go through these de-cluttering moments. But re-buying scents is not necessary. It is a waste of money and you can end up missing the formula version you love. I also get tired of some fragrances that I love. Tastes change over your lifetime; pregnancy and age can change your nose. I would advise only de-cluttering perfumes you intend to never wear again, or are maybe redundant. To avoid having to re-purchase scents you love, the trick is to take an extended break from the scent. Wrap them up to avoid breaks and leakage, put them in a light proof box and store away. Re-visit them in a year or two, during an annual de-clutter. After the re-visit, you still don't think you enjoy it, then de-clutter. This system has worked for me for over a decade. Moving is a good time to introduce this system. Also, like you, I only buy smaller bottles. It does help with space.
Great video Amy! Decluttering is so hard but it also feels good to do so and not be burdened down. Sometimes I just decant myself a small amount if I may regret it in the future. This allows me to still smell it and try it out in case I want to repurchase and see if I truly need it again.
You are a strong woman. I don't know how you are doing it. Downsizing would be so difficult for me. I love every one of my perfumes. I must have over 100 bottles . Praying your move goes well. Blessings.

Hey Amy, if you are looking to replace Prada Night for a chocolate scent once you move, I highly recommend Chocolate Queen. It's not a sickly sweet dark chocolate yet not bitter, but still gourmand, it's just perfection with hazelnut, dulce de leche and sandalwood. Also Venom of Love is a boozy chocolate cherry. I've been wearing both all winter and bought back ups of both. Of course sample first if you can but I am obsessed with those 2 from Navitus. VOL reminds me of Vday or date nights and CQ is just addictive yet wearable

They are stress buster also and reminds me that sometimes it's good to remove things from your life.. It's not about de cluttering perfumes it's also about de cluttering your thoughts that don't let to move forward, don't let you do new things bcs you stuck to some particular things and thoughts and perfumes too... Hi Amy!! ♥️ I know that you have already decluttered JPG Scandal by Night and I think you’ve also already decluttered Sweet by Lolita Lempicka but OMGGGGG I tried mixing those two this past weekend and I am in loveeee!! The Sweet toned down a little of the cologney properties of Scandal by Night and made it a touch more sweet and yummy and SBN toned down the sweetness from Sweet - match made in heaven IMHO. Love love love your videos so much!!!! 🥰♥️
Yes!!! I'm so happy it worked out for you. I have a huge collection as well, & I've noticed that with those certain fragrances that you put away for a season or 2 that the fragrance sitting in nozzle can sometimes turn, but the fragrance inside is usually fine.

I think that an idea to bring a fragrance to its previous good state is to shake it a little, I did that with my Burberry original and now it has regained its previous aroma. I kept going back and forth on getting The Only One Intense but it seems more people don't get the coconut and I have other coconut and pineapple perfumes I prefer. So I am letting that one go off my wishlist. If I ever had the chance to create my own perfume, it would definitely be a sexy tropical coconut. There aren't enough of them that are date night appropriate at least that I've tried

Heidi, can I ask why you want to wear the L'interdit only on special occasions? Because of the price or because the scent is pretty heavy? I'm one of those people that just wears whatever, whenever simply based on my mood. Why only use something sexy at date night or when going out? I want to feel sexy or special on a Monday morning too (hell! Especially on those ghastly Monday mornings). It's different if you can't wear perfume at work, but I want to enjoy my fragrances without labeling them. However, I know we people are all different. If it gives you a good feeling to have special fragrances for special occasions, definitely keep doing that. I can imagine that being nice too. Maybe if I had a partner again I would keep certain fragrances more just for him/us (while I wear typical date night stuff on a Wednesday afternoon to the market, those types are still on the forefront of my mind when I dó go out). And in that case I hope my tip will be of help. Lattafa Fakhar Women (sometimes called Fakhar Rose) is a Middle Eastern fragrance that's supposed to be inspired by the original Givenchy L'interdit (the one created for Audrey Hepburn). So they'll be very similar. In my country it's around €30 for 100ml (though in some countries it's much cheaper). That way you have a L'interdit inspired perfume that won't break the bank, and you won't feel guilty when grabbing it more, or won't mind if it isn't used that often due to the price. Whichever works 😉. I use the Fakhar and won't get the regular L'interdit and I also have the L'interdit Rouge, the real version, from Givenchy. Not sure if this will make a difference for you, but I wanted to share.

Then there is some perfumes that I wear only in fall and winter time for example cheirosa 71, by the fireplace and so on, cause they are simly fall and winter scents to me 😊 and then there is some that are only for summer like Miami glow, cheirosa 62...✌️

I am definitely slowing down on the buying. I am not buying any older fragrances and when there is a new release I am getting the travel size until I move. ☺️ so far that has been working great! 🙌🏼🥰

I was today years old when I found out that Seductive Noir is a dupe for Mon Guerlain and it has lavender in it. I love that fragrance so much I’ve never gotten any lavender at all. I never purchased Mon Guerlain because of the lavender 😩
I kept smelling the seductive noir after I filmed this video and I think I might like the guess better than the guerlain 🤔 I’m going to have to play with that one some more before I decide to declutter it 😩🤣

Guess seductive red doesn't last on skin but it lasts on clothes . I went to wash laundry a few days after I wore it and I could still smell it on my shirt. I was very surprised cause I didn't remember it smelling very strong at all ! Maybe it's one that we just go nose blind to .

Armani Si Intense, Guerlain My Guerlain Intense, Gyvenchy L’interdit EDT are such a classic. You should keep these, because they become better over time. Besides I’m always afraid they’ll be discontinued, how it happened with Si Intense in black bottle. 💕

18:16 Guess Seductiv red sticks on me, even after a shower. But i don‘t like this smell. I like Seductiv Noir very much, but this fragrance…after 15 minutes, i can‘t smell it anymore. I wish it was the other way around. 😅😘
I too had to get rid of Seductive Red by Guess. The longevity is just so poor, and I found to me it smelt so much like Cloud that I’d rather wear Cloud cos it lasts at least 4hrs. It’s strange though, cos I have Bella Vita by Guess and I love that and I find it lasts like 8-10hrs on me, and that too is a cherry floral

I think it’s the cherry in those. They bother me too that cherry is medicinal and too tart/sharp in those to me.

I was today years old when I found out that Seductive Noir is a dupe for Mon Guerlain and it has lavender in it. I love that fragrance so much I’ve never gotten any lavender at all. I never purchased Mon Guerlain because of the lavender 😩
It doesn’t have lavender it’s sage instead
I kept smelling the seductive noir after I filmed this video and I think I might like the guess better than the guerlain 🤔 I’m going to have to play with that one some more before I decide to declutter it 😩🤣
@@leannemonica8098 I think you’re right. I blind-bought it in a Marshall’s. I checked Fragrantica while in the store to see if the notes spoke to me. I know if it said lavender, it wouldn’t have made it out the store with me. 😩

Guess seductive red doesn't last on skin but it lasts on clothes . I went to wash laundry a few days after I wore it and I could still smell it on my shirt. I was very surprised cause I didn't remember it smelling very strong at all ! Maybe it's one that we just go nose blind to .

@@effa_haniza that’s good! Continue to sample and only buy when you are completely sure. Don’t blind buy big bottles either. If you absolutely have to blind buy, only buy 50ml or less. goodluck on your journey and be careful! Perfume addiction is real!
@@Blessed-me6tf Thank you so much for your kind words. I have only bought few fragrances in 50ml gift set since it was discounted and cheaper than getting the 30ml. So far, I'm loving each one of them. I will be more careful with niche fragrances and won't blind buy for sure.

Armani - Si intense in a black bottle is love from the first sniff for me, always I got the compliments with it 🖤 After that I bought original Si and I didn't like it. I like and Passione more fruit version.

I almost picked up Gucci guilty absolute yesterday but the tester bottle literally had one drop so I couldn’t get a good sense of it and though I thought from before I really liked it but I decided to wait till I can get a good smell again. I cannot do tuberose either, I keep trying but can’t.

I decluttered 4 before NYE. LVEB Intensiment, The only One (both too sweet, syrupy Iris), Kayali Sweet Diamond, and a DKNY coconut.
I’m really struggling with orange blossom too. I keep going back and forth with LVEB le’clat … I keep wearing it but I’m always not sure if I like it …… I’ve tried quite a few of the LVEB fragrances except the OG.
My bottle of My Way got gifted to my daughter...not bad but I don't love it either. And I have a pretty Niche nose.
Guess Seductive Red and Marc Jacobs Perfect don't last😒. They smell so good. I have to spray myself all day

Armani Si Intense, Guerlain My Guerlain Intense, Gyvenchy L’interdit EDT are such a classic. You should keep these, because they become better over time. Besides I’m always afraid they’ll be discontinued, how it happened with Si Intense in black bottle. 💕
Yes! the discontinuation, or reformulation fear is real😅 I have only few that I like so if they get changed or disappear I will not be a happy camper.

Wow brutal de clutter. I struggle with tuberose and orange blossom aswel. The only tuberose I like is givenchy ange ou demon and l'interdit . And surprisingly bs curious lol. My way burns my nostrils. 🤢
Very Good Girl Glam has a sour cherry note. That's probably where you are getting that sharpness from. I am the exact opposite from you because I love rhubarb and litchi. 😆

I too had to get rid of Seductive Red by Guess. The longevity is just so poor, and I found to me it smelt so much like Cloud that I’d rather wear Cloud cos it lasts at least 4hrs.
It’s strange though, cos I have Bella Vita by Guess and I love that and I find it lasts like 8-10hrs on me, and that too is a cherry floral
You should sell them on Mercari.
