Gamble knew exactly how to stoke the fires in series 9. He found the exact way to make Little A. Horne uncomfortable every time and bradmin was just the cherry on top.
Saw a comment somewhere saying that Ed having absolutely zero awkwardness around the whole bradmin situation is a prime example of a man raised by a single mum, and while I can only go off experiences in my own life, I'd say that's 100% true 😂
The pride I felt when my 10 year old brother asked our mum in all sincerity if she'd remembered her glasses and tampons before we went out for the evening 😭😂
Haha, now that is relatable. Having grown up with a mum and two sisters it still baffles me every time other men pull a face at the mere mention of lady's toiletries.
You can really tell how committed he is to the show and his character (that he both came up with btw) by him repeatedly worsening his own situation for comedic effect. He didn't have to sit on her lap facing her and you can see she herself wrestling her composure for a split second.
I think it's a mix of being born like it, it probably being reinforced by his upbringing, but then absolutely leaning into it for the show haha It's been brought up by multiple different mates of his that he is genuinely awkward and flustered around things like this so there's definitely an element of truth
He's definitely naturally awkward, but also knows how to exaggerate for comic effect. As the series' went on, he might have gotten a bit more used to it, but I always felt that with the mask-eating task with Katherine Ryan... I don't think he's putting _any_ of that awkwardness on whatsoever. He looked so genuinely uncomfortable with that one
He's from a family of three boys and his best friends growing up were two other boys who were each also from a family of three boys. @Vtarngpb tbh watching the clips, Alex seems baffled by Lucy more than anything, and with Sally he's too busy having cake shoved up his armpits or being birthed to act awkward (imo anyway!)
Funnier when you know that he's the one in charge. He chooses the tasks, and OKs everything that happens. So if it's true that he's not entirely faking the embarassement, then he's either a bit of a masochist or he just knows just how hilarious it is and is willing to sacrifice himself.
Alex was deeply into all of those scenes, but like the most skilled perverts, pretended to NOT be into it, and deeply uncomfortable so that the other person is more likely to lean into the encounter. And people going forward are more likely to try to, "Make him uncomfortable', for the laughs. He didn't go for the lips because he thought he couldn't make himself appear not into that, so best to protect the persona of not being into it, than being outed as the closet pervert he actually is.
When someone states an opinion as if it were a fact, it is referred to as "asserting" or "making an unsupported assertion". In logical and critical thinking, it can also be considered a "false assertion" or "fact-claim fallacy", especially if the opinion is presented without supporting evidence.
