Born and raised in Hawaii - as much as I love my people - that’s how many local men act & think. The longer and thicker the chain, the better. They walk around with these long, thick ass gold chains, walking like their balls weigh as much as their chains 😂 driving high ass lifted Toyota trucks, 😂 I’m literally talking about my husband 15 years ago but once he realized how “ugly” it looked, he stopped flashing. Believe it or not, after all these years, many of them still have that same mindset, chain and truck. At the end of the day - we all know “wassup”. 😂

I'm all about chains now! I had to cut a short bob (which I love) since I found I have breast cancer and my earrings don't show. Yes, I worry about my appearance too because focusing only on the disease isn't healthy. Also, Melissa, by the way you described your grandma's chain, here in Brazil we call it a Singapore chain, but the name of things change wildly from country to country...

My mom gave me a nice 14k tri color fígaro chain for Christmas & I had it shortened to 18in since it was 20in, I’m not sure what mm is it but it’s thin but it looks so nice . The only trouble I have is putting it on and taking off off bc the lock is so small lol and I can’t see the back. This year I want to get a heavy link this year maybe a 2.5mm nothing too big (:
