I had the transom pull out this summer on mine. Managed to repair it and noticed it was showing signs of rot at the time. May have to consider this. Nice job !

Thanks Zodiac, for not painting the inside of the drain hole so the water gets in to rot the wood. I see that the FS doesn't have the extra plastic reinforcement brackets between the transom and the tubes. After spending a couple of hundred bucks on supplies, I gave up...threw the boat out. Even the chinese use PVC board. for the transoms, Zodiac. Bought a korean-made Saturn instead. 2x the boat, for 1/2 the money...

We paid someone to change our transom on our bombard aerotec but when we got it back we found the floor was coming away and it’s now come away completely, I think it’s the age. I’m going to try to do it myself. Did you use any special chemicals to clean away the glue or do you just need to peel it off?
If the glue is peeling off, peel off what you can. Then use MEK or acetone to breakdown and remove the rest of the glue. Take caution as these chemicals are technically taking off a thin layer of the fabric material.
Hi GasHopper, have you evener installed a second transom aft of the first and mounted the outboard on it? Wee are looking for some extra space on our Zodiac
I have a older Bombard Typhoon 380. I just had the rotting wood floors replaced and put it back in the water with a 9.9 outboard. It was going great, however a day later the transom on the starboard side started to come away from the slot attached to the tube. It was rotten at that side and the bottom. Inside that slot where the transom was inserted it looks like there are are seven or eight dowels which the transom may dovetail on to. Is that the way it works on this boat or is that just part of the transom that remains in the slot? I haven't detached the other side yet. Wondering if you could give me a price for a replacement? I'm in Ontario. Thanks.

depends on the glue Z7096 waiting times are 8-12 minutes between each layer, Z7098 5 minutes between each layer

You'll want to use either Stabond UK-148 or Z7096 Plastomere Glue for your boat. Both are 2 part structural glues.

Can't say that I have, but anything is possible. Putting the motor further back shouldn't be a issue either.

I would recommend a PVC glue for that repair.
Is the zodiac made of pvc?
This one was a PVC, yes.
Did you use Acetone or MEK to clean the glue off the pvc? I'm not sure what to use...
@@bluejuice7229 you can use either, MEK is better and breaks down the glue quicker.
