So, I don't own any model horses. I'm a little out of my depth here. What I do own... are lizards. And with summer in full swing, I want to get started making a Halloween costume for at least one of them. I'm going around collecting tutorials for different pieces of miniature armor and saddles, and this looks like the kind of saddle I want to make. I love the attention to detail and the apparent functionality of the entire piece. This is actually pretty cool.
I know this is a year later, and I'm very late, but that sounds amazing!
I own tons of reptiles and I've thought about making them costumes too, for Halloween i was a pumpkin so i got a costume for one of our bearded dragons

I am going to try to make this out of faux leather for one of my 1:6th customs. I am British so am not familiar with Western tack but I will give this a try. I think I may make the tree from wire as I am used to working with wire but I may change my mind and use milliput. Thanks for This, there's another girl (Country Crafts?) Whose tutorial I watched so If it comes out (or rather whichever comes out best or good enough to put on Instagram I will probably tag you both as I have a feeling it will end up a mix of both as I am clueless with Western tack. Any English tack is from memory and from my own (real) horses.
I don't know how you make such lovely tack for such tiny horses! It takes me all my time and concentration to do it in 1:6th (which is roughly Barbie size although I wouldn't have a Barbie horse in my collection because the scale is all wrong..it's like the people at Mattel never saw a real horse in relation to a person. I have some custom Barbie and Fashion Royalty dolls but it's really the realistic action figures that I collect thus the need for realistic looking horses...I don't do tack in realistic colours though as any photo stories I am going to do with them are very much fiction/fantasy type scenarios. I won't forget to tag you. Oh and I actually got my first Breyer classic after watching your videos...they're beautiful as are the Schleich ones.
I am about to try this in Collecta size or at least am making a pattern for it as my arm is still in a splint. Hopefully I can manage it as my first really small saddle..I have plenty time to get the pattern and measurements right so have no excuse lol!
This is a good job. Well done. I would prefer a different texture on the leather. It is too big for the size of the saddle. Maybe a smooth leather would be better. But, the whole thing is really your workmanship, which is great.

Unfortunately I don't have a good answer as the leather I use are free scraps of random quality I get from someone I know who works with it :']

If you're talking about the saddle it is worth like maybe 20 to 30 dollars. Hand made tack is worth a lot.
