Great to see your Mom!!! Nice to see she is doing ok. Growing up in a farming community is great. This area was vegetable farmers and my Dad knew every other farmer in the county. When trouble happened they all came running. A neighbor had a fire that burned down their house. The area farmers came together and built them a new home. We had a fire on our farm in '69 and lost our main shop and tool storage building. Before the ashes were cooled off, neighbors came to offer help. I miss those days here. 👍👍👍
Glad to see your mom in the cab riding alongside for a bit. Lovely family time. And the friendship and teamwork with neighbors is really cool. Not everyone has that. I wish we had more of a "we're all in this together" spirit in the world today.
Momma Carlson! We love you, and you definitely need to get your motorcycle license again! I’ve never seen Cale smile that big. We are all Mommas boys. Cale, C15 CAT preemission motor. Best ever. Second place, 3406E and 3406B
When I was going to school, I work on trucks and adjusted a lot of trailer brakes. I was told to: release the trailer brakes, take your 9/16 and hammer, tighten the brakes with the 9/16 until they are snug and then back them off 3 clicks on the lock ring. If that seems to tight, maybe back them off 5 clicks.
Retired 42 year trucker here. That left side brake pad looked OK. The right side is getting down to replacement time. With brakes released turn your slack adjuster until it gets tight (won't turn any more) then back it off 1/4 turn. As long as everything is working properly, you'll be good to run and have good braking. Of course, do them all. And grease all the fittings on the adjusters and camshafts while you are at it.
Cale, you need pads and drums amigo. Brakes released tighten slack adjusters all the way down, and then back them off half a round. Don’t let them talk you into new slack adjusters! Keep what you have. You’ll also probably need new S-cam rollers and springs. If you don’t get new pads and drums you’ll cam over the brakes,,, and I’m sure you have had that happen before.
Cal for your brakes, if they're not automatic slack adjusters, and there the manual slack adjuster you tighten tell the break won't tighten anymore, and you back off a quarter turn, that should be the proper setting
@2:00 + Just to help people understand the land amount, I believe what is pictured is 1 quarter but I forget how many acres in a quarter. Cale, were you in the Marine corp???? Hiya Cale's Mom and Thank You for making a great son and training him well. Hiya Butterscotch.
Pick up something like this to check those brake pads. 8 Pcs Brake Lining Thickness Gauge, Car Automotive Brake Pad Measuring Ruler Tool, Measuring Disc and Drum Brake Pad Gauge, Color-Coded, SAE & Metric Personally I would say, replace them.
