  • Hi everyone! By request! How do you stay on time as a REAL nail tech trying to make money to pay bills?!? Painting a nail in a minute is super hard for those who are not in a shop full time, but it can be done on EVERY client. If you want more of these, comment! I really have hopes that nail studios can become like miniature homes again, where the nail techs are able to connect with others and have fun while being free to be CREATIVE without being tied down to 1000 products. I get over enthusiastic about my vision. It feels good to feel that freedom again. Here is a super highly requested idea, can I do a full design #nailart design in 10 minutes or less! Try it and tag me! #inspiredbyrobinmoses #teamrobinmoses!!!

      Carol, thank you. I was trying to edit this video and no matter what I did the sound was completely messed up and I was getting more and more frustrated, and then I saw your comment. You made my whole day brighter and I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am so glad that you love the brushes as much as I do as well! I felt a very deep need to create these brushes because they just are very hard to find. So just thank you for making my day. Sending you love❤❤❤❤

    Great job Robin, and great job by your camera tech!
    I'm a licensed Nail Tech, but I am NOT skilled at nail art. Also, I am VERY SLOW. Getting started doing art is challenging because of time restraints and money. If clients are not adventurous , that's another challenge (my clients are mostly conservative women over 50). I offer quick art for free, like 1 heart at Valentine's Day or 1 shamrock for St Paddys when I do a full set or a mani or pedi. I know everyone can't offer this, but it's a good way to get started and encourage clients to give art a chance!

    I try hard not to get subjective on my channel. Here is what happened. I got a comment saying 'I wouldnt pay 5 bucks for this'....WELL...The title reads its a time challenge on camera. Also, if she watched, she would see it as a skeleton for many designs and learning this trick is essential for you to make money and the technique makes you tons of money long term. So, my client (i dont talk about my off film clients) paid me 100 dollars to delete her AND her mean comment. I wanted to tell this to young techs to take those comments as lies because clients that love you stamp out hate thats not even real here on the internet. Enrich your inner life and dont pay attention to the 5.00 haters here in text when you are surrounded by 100.00 sweerhearts in the flesh. Shout out to my non-filmed support in real life!

    Why textile medium instead of clear polish?

    • @robinmosesnailart
      @robinmosesnailart  5 років тому +4

      you can use either. for small projects its not a difference...working at fast speed not much of a difference. if you are new......textile medium dries about 10x slower than polish and you can practice without having to go back to polish over and over which is MUCH MUCH cheaper . and if you have a large project like stained glass etc, medium allows you to do the whole design in a single swoop. I hope that makes sense. the drawback is..........its white until it dries (which is fast once applied) but when you are new, you dont see your ratios that much yet. so it just takes time :D i love medium. it makes me slow though LOL

      take a dark pink on one side. Take white on the other side. And then mix them together from white to the darkest pink. Add more and more white into the pink and then Pull your brush thru each color of pink as you work. So for example. Stripe 1 dark pink. Stripe 2 dark pink with a little tiny bit of white. Stripe 3 dark pink with a little more white. Stripe 4 dark pink with a little more white than that. And tell you work your way to White. Does that make sense? I hope so but because spring is around the corner, Stripes become more popular and I will begin making stripe videos. I haven't made any since before Halloween!

    I have to ask why you don’t use gels??

    • @robinmosesnailart
      @robinmosesnailart  5 років тому +10

      There are many reasons. The biggest being that lots of people who start school for nails have nothing. To go from nothing to 100s or even 1000s of dollars worth of products takes time and patience. With what i teach, it gets you STARTED and inspired. It allows you to feel good going in and building up. You dont need gels. You dont need fancy stuff. They are luxury and being poor doesnt mean you cant succeed. Thats the main reason. I want to be a channel that helps people succeed. Xoxo

Not that I lost my skill as I did still do my own nails. But no one paints with acrylic paint anymore. 🤷🏼‍♀️ it’s nice to see someone else who still does. everything is all about the gel and Swarovski 🙄. Don’t get me wrong I’ve found some great inexpensive companies for gel, crystals and glitter ✨ But I’m trying to get some sample nails of painting so my clients can see that there’s more 😊

    • @robinmosesnailart
      @robinmosesnailart  5 років тому

      i addressed this in this video i believe? it depends on your town, your shop, your experience, your client load. you can charge what you like. if you lose clients, you are charging too much. if you are overbooked and cant make your bills you arent charging enough. you are continually balancing what you charge for nails but if you are good and you are in a large town and you are booked, you make a great living and doing hand painting saves tons on products so you can take that money to the bank :D xoxoxo
