I’m a fan; 42 years I have been going. I am still hugely encouraged. It’s early days for our regime I am not at all disillusioned! I have faith. Good video. I am grateful for your consideration. Williamson needs a transfer window. We are now in a transitional stage. Overall I have been encouraged by Williamson. Psychologically a lot of our players have carried a lot of baggage. Yep they are professional football players but a squad and a team plays better when free from fear. Our day will come! The darkest hour is before tge dawn
Bradford fan here i feel sorry for you bloody good team excellent fans give us some great games always an occasion when we play you lot hope you stay up
Things went wrong when they didn't get rid of Simpson Christmas time in League 1, a new manager with good recruitment could have given us a much more realistic chance of staying up , instead they gave him 2 transfer windows where Simpson and Abbot recruited fragile and aging players for a very 1 dimensional system that no longer worked. Feel bad for Williamson, they're asking him to make a palace out of a council estate!
The Piataks came in with great ideas but tried to implement too many, too quickly. Securing a consistent spine of a team was key but we just haven't managed it. All the match day experience is appreciated but without wins ultimately means nothing.
Also one other negative about our recruitment was how bad our versatility was. One of the best thing simmo had in the season we got promoted was we went from a 352 to a 433. And it caused the other team problems. But the recruitment this season stop that as we had no winger before Tyler burey and Harris came in. This made us extremely one dimensional and easy to play against. Also had a massive lack of creativity. Which we had in the past like Jordan Gibson, Owen moxon. Omari Patrick etc. and this had a massive impact on us.
The only club who took 5,000 away fans to a night game. Even when in national league they took 7,500 away fans to Darlington which by the way is a 170 mile round trip, not like a Blackburn to Bolton or a Preston to Blackpool 10 mile apart trip
Christ it's not even January yet. Let's see how this season finishes before all the doom and gloom "decline" videos come out. If we stay up, which I think we will, we'll come back stronger next season. Just need to give a manager plenty of time to implement their own tactics properly with the players THEY bring in. MW has at least January to do that, he'll have summer too if the January signings can keep us up.
Going up to league 1 in the position we were in with the ownership everyone believed it was a step too soon we still had hope of surviving but we crawled over the line lack of investment due to us just not being able to compete with teams in league 2 let alone league 1 meant signing league 1 quality players was challenging to say the least and didn’t get many through the door till the back end of pre season getting battered every week the piataks took over the club and hope was instilled that the January window would save us with the new found financial power we had but we were too far gone by time it came to January a lot of pressure was put onto new signings to perform and we didn’t really see any improvement Paul Simpson is a legend for what he gave us saving the club from relegation then delivering a promotion but the loyalty to him has cost us any other manager would have been sacked long before he did eventually get the sack the squad we have this season seems to lack belief and could do with a motivator Mike Williamsons football with a squad that can play the way he wants them to can be successful but he’s not a motivator that’s clear when you watch his interviews and his style of play is significantly different to Paul Simpsons it was a mistake from the Piataks to sack Paul Simpson when they did 3 days after the transfer window closing a massive change like this should have happened in the summer and allowed Mike Williamson if he was their man to come in and have a full transfer window to assemble a squad that can play his way I do think Williamson has been dealt a bad hand pressure is on him to deliver results straight away as is with any manager coming into a club in the relegation zone he needs time which we don’t have it’s really depressing at the moment I can’t remember a worse a time it feels like Deja vu we are in the same position again once January comes we’ll sign some players and be fine but something needs to happen fast or we will be yet another team that suffers back to back relegations and promotion back to league 2 would be incredibly tough despite having a strong financial backing Wrexham didn’t do it at the first time of asking with Ryan Reynolds it’s not a cake walk
Carlisle United are sadly struggling at the bottom half of the standings of the English League Two but I think that they would move from the danger zone as soon as possible, good friends!!!LONG LIVE,CARLISLE UNITED!!!
Signing of harry lewis was the worst in the club in january! We didnt sign anybody with pace when we went up! The fans done everything but the old owners didnt have a clue.!
D@@pandapaws2000 dont mind neale , chucks himself about and gets stuck in . Hasnt got great talent but he is loyal as they come. He isnt league 1 level though!
Think the recruitment this season and last January is a big reason why where here. Signed Luke Armstrong and Harry Lewis for both record fees. Now both rotating options and playing crap. Also spent a lot on Georgie Kelly. Yes a very good player. League one standard imo. But he’s on he’s 3rd motor calf injury and is out for almost the season. Also got a 3.5 year contract. Also Josh Vela who was seen as a good league one player is no where near the starting 11. With injuries and very poor performances. Also I feel we brought this injury crisis on our selfs. They is a joke in the club about Greg abbot (our chief scout) and he’s love for injury prone players. And now we have 3 key players out for the season (Wyke, Davies and Kelly). And players like Terrell Thomas , Ben Williams, Josh vela, Dylan Mcgeouch, Ethan Robson, Tyler Burey and Jack Robinson also out injured atm. Also when you are bring 3 free agents in on 6 month contracts. Williams, burey. And kedeem Harris. I think it shows how bad you recruitment has been. And very surprised that Greg abbot is still at the club.
The manager needs more time and a January transfer window to get the players who are right for his system. The Piatek’s will no doubt throw a lot of money at the club to make sure that we don’t go down to a tricky National League. If it continues to fail after January, then get him gone.
Fantastic new owners, a dream come true, seem grnuine and fully invested in the history and community. But naive to the realities of the sport at this level, unsurprisingly. Simpson eorked wonders to revive the team after years of stagnation on the bottom division but hetting promoted to a level too high ended up destroying the team. This meant that when the Piateks took over, there was a vast mismatch between their ambitions and thexstate of the playing side and throwing money at it over 2 windows has proved disastrous because there was no foundation in place to build on and also they couldnt attract the top targets. As you say, there are many complexities at this level that are hard to foresee. I think fans and others can see that there is a need to get back to basics and battle for survival and then, maybe in a season or two, start to build for higher levels, but the owners want to start playing a conplex passing game right now. Its just a very complex situation. The last time Carlisle had a decent squad that progressed to the next level they had to go out of the league to do it but lets hope that doesn't happen now. Football matches are battles and this needs to register with the coaching and owners. You have to win the battle first, before you can have a foundation. You cant do it purely on paper or with dreams or data. Nous is needed on the football side.
In reality , just "scraped" into League One and were severely found out in all areas of the pitch . Simmo did a fantastic job to get the club into League One but he should have gone at the end of that season . Poor recruitment with players too . The Piataks have done a good job off the pitch to add some upgrades to an ageing stadium but on the Football side of things , their knowledge looks like it's pretty limited. "Own The North" 😅....it's a pretty "toothless " slogan .... They should have had a "reset" for the League Two season with an appointment of an "old school" manager . I wasn't happy with the appointment of MW and some of his tactics are questionable to say the least , especially with the quality of some of the players he has at his disposal - his tactics aren't working simple as . On the other side of the coin, if they play "direct " , then they aren't that far off . I sincerely hope that he can keep us up . Will we stay up ? ; it's very much in the balance and I'm not committing either way ...If we did go down to the National League it would be a case of the players putting in some "blood and guts" performances to get us back in the EFL , as the National League has improved enormously over the past several years ....The remainder of this season is going to be a long hard slog and every game now is a "6/9 pointer" . COYB !!!!!!!⚽⚽!!!!!!!
The Piataks have to learn what is required. It is not fancy football. It's getting the best out of the players you have. Just look at Morecambe. Pitiful resources and a squad on paper far weaker than ours. But a manager who knows what is required when you are struggling in L2
Getting relegated from league one was fine we all knew it was a freak season that got us up. However, the lack of confidence in the players is clear this season and being forced to play like man city just doesn't work in league 2. 4-4-2 and a decent recruitment in jan could save us.
Good video. You should do a video on Bradford's owner who is the opposite of Pietak. No interest whatsoever hence the reason they've been stuck in L2 for 6 seasons
I spoke to a football agent a few years ago. He said that if clubs are a long way from London - and presumably Liverpool and Manchester - they're going to find it harder to bring players in.
I know I'll get pelters for this but genuinely always felt the should apply to be in the SPFL. Dingwall is about an hour and a half closer in transport time than Plymouth. Glasgow and Edinburgh only and hour and half to two hours away. It would shake up the Scottish game if they were invited to a 16 top tier and i reckon with their supporter base and half decent facilities they could flourish.
Looking from a far Carlisle United should have very good support for a bare minimum championship club with no other nearby clubs but history suggests they have been a bottom tier side, and the one above

Thanks. That is very generous. Bradford are fantastic fans.
Hopefully, on 18th January we get 3 points against you ; but I expect you have a different point of view 😉 .
Cheers 👍

They’ve got fantastic supporters! Such a shame what’s happening at the moment.
7500 😂😂 ejit!
Pompey fan here. I hope you guys get things sorted and get back to where you ought to be. Good club- proper fans.
The Piataks didn't takeover until the end of 2023.

Good write up, mate. Just a bit difficult to read with no full stops. UTB!
Another sub, here 🙋🏻♂️
Some superb content in the channel, thanks for your hard work and research.
Good luck

Once again owners without a clue about football
BUT- genuine love of the game and love of sport.
They will rapidly learn from mistakes and experiences. Our owners are genuine people and are no fools

Hopefully Clarksons appointment will help show Abbot the door
As a lifelong fan, one day I hope we have another team to be proud of and the envy of others- when?, who knows.

They got lucky with promotion. No where near good enough for LG1 and that was proved. They now have a losing mentality which is hard to escape.
Carlisle Till I Die.... we still sing.... real passion from the fans
