Thank you for this tutorial. I've made a few baskets but still need detailed instruction and have started making this basket, appreciating how you list the materials and go step-by-step. I really like the finish color you chose. What would I need for that?
Have you ever done this type of basket with other materials? i.e. burlap or fabric stiffened on their own or mixed with the reed lengths? Can that work if the materials are not the same?
I have not tried that. Definitely something to experiment with. It would work similarly if you did a basket entirely of stiffened fabric. And you could absolutely add in strips of fabric or ribbon instead of colored reed. It would change the texture which would add visual interest. Great idea!
