My first time watching you fishing in Texas catching the monster gar, damn that was a big fish. This is the 2nd video of yours I watched, you really have a beautiful wife!!! I always loved to fish when I was younger, I will be 60 in Feb, and my fishing days are over, unfortunately, after blowing out my 2 bottom disc's and surgery that made it worse. Now I have to take morphine every day for severe back pain, tho I'm 1of those people that morphine doesn't work very well on, so watching videos like yours is great. Thanks!

Glad you videoed that outing with Brad that was definitely a keeper. On those big cats, on top of the head there are 2 soft spots of meat. It is actually the sweetest meat of the whole fish. A few years ago, about 25 my grandfather was a real wheeler and dealer, You could always count on him having catfish, fresh pork, Emu steaks, Alligator, all kinds of exotic meats. He was always bringing us big bags full of Flat head catfish all kinds of stuff.

I grew up on the creek beds as a kid, but as I got older I have stopped going as much. These videos are so nostalgic and bring me back to them hot summers staying outside all day, only coming inside for lunch, and when it got dark.

I just found this video I'm from Eastern KY and I'm 48 my father was the best person I ever knew God rest his soul and he loved one thing as much as our family and that was fishing I just found out about ú or 8 years ago I have the rare form of lupus and I don't get outside during the day much but if I was going to make an exception going out with you 2 would be one of those things have a great day guys and keep fishing and living off of the land it's the best way to teach the young as well I miss my grandparents farm good times ‼️‼️💯 I'll have to check out more of your videos soon 👍👍‼️‼️💯💯💯💯
My husband RIP was a hunter. Our agreement was every lease needed to have a lake or river close for me to fish. He found his dream site with a lake no one had fished in years. We macheted our way in to see a rotted dock 1/2 sunken. Next to the dock was my spot for years as I filled my freezer each year we bought another freezer. Great memories great video!

Gabe my son watches your channel and is a huge fan of your boys! He tells me he wants to be able to hunt and fish like they do. He never showed an interest before your videos. I take the same approach with him you and Kelly do with your boys of hands in learning. Letting them get in there and overcome fear and uncertainty while making everlasting memories. It's great for our kids to learn about nature, get out and learn and gain experience that will teach them to be sustainable humans and not Yupee Yankees!! LOL I'd rather see my kids with a bow than an Xbox conteoller!! Your boys are creating that drive when my boy watches You, Kelly, and the boys! So tell your boys they are inspiring others their age and have a huge fan up here in Kentucky!! Times are tough now, but if sometime down the road if I can swing it I'd love to bring my boy down to Florida to fish. If ever we do fishing with you guys would be like a dream come true! This was the most beautiful UA-cam video I have ever seen. I was crying tears of joy watching that ancient catfish king drive that Jon boat into catfish heaven. The simplicity of line and hook taken to shakespearean level artistry caused my heart to flutter and the sight of those catfish being flipped into the bottom of that boat caused an embarrassing premature orgasmic accident in my blue jeans. Please don’t stop making these masterpiece theatre videos!

You’re bringing up my favorite fishing now. I’ve fished the Altamaha, the Oconee and the Ocmulgee my whole life. Doctortown, Jesup and out from Baxley used to be my stomping grounds. When I was growing up, flatheads were considered as invasive species and were frowned on because they ate and competed with channel cats and blue cats, now they’re everywhere. I’m from Louisiana but now live in jay Florida. Growing up my poppa would put the biggest flathead of the trip on a fence post. He said it was for good luck. Haven’t thought of that in years ! Great video !
Again another great video. One simple trick I discovered when I was a lot younger, for filleting fish in general was to put them on a rough cut fence board. Here in California we use primarily redwood but anything will work. The rough surface keeps the fish from slipping yet it hoses off very easily.

I just found this video I'm from Eastern KY and I'm 48 my father was the best person I ever knew God rest his soul and he loved one thing as much as our family and that was fishing I just found out about ú or 8 years ago I have the rare form of lupus and I don't get outside during the day much but if I was going to make an exception going out with you 2 would be one of those things have a great day guys and keep fishing and living off of the land it's the best way to teach the young as well I miss my grandparents farm good times ‼️‼️💯 I'll have to check out more of your videos soon 👍👍‼️‼️💯💯💯💯

My husband RIP was a hunter. Our agreement was every lease needed to have a lake or river close for me to fish. He found his dream site with a lake no one had fished in years. We macheted our way in to see a rotted dock 1/2 sunken. Next to the dock was my spot for years as I filled my freezer each year we bought another freezer. Great memories great video!

Gabe my son watches your channel and is a huge fan of your boys!
He tells me he wants to be able to hunt and fish like they do. He never showed an interest before your videos.
I take the same approach with him you and Kelly do with your boys of hands in learning. Letting them get in there and overcome fear and uncertainty while making everlasting memories.
It's great for our kids to learn about nature, get out and learn and gain experience that will teach them to be sustainable humans and not Yupee Yankees!! LOL
I'd rather see my kids with a bow than an Xbox conteoller!!

Times are tough now, but if sometime down the road if I can swing it I'd love to bring my boy down to Florida to fish. If ever we do fishing with you guys would be like a dream come true!

This was the most beautiful UA-cam video I have ever seen. I was crying tears of joy watching that ancient catfish king drive that Jon boat into catfish heaven. The simplicity of line and hook taken to shakespearean level artistry caused my heart to flutter and the sight of those catfish being flipped into the bottom of that boat caused an embarrassing premature orgasmic accident in my blue jeans. Please don’t stop making these masterpiece theatre videos!

Watching your videos made me start taking my son fishing . He plays travel baseball and I feel that’s all we do ! Not that’s that a bad thing but fishing brings good times and good conversations other than baseball.. thank you for keeping it real ! You’re bringing up my favorite fishing now. I’ve fished the Altamaha, the Oconee and the Ocmulgee my whole life. Doctortown, Jesup and out from Baxley used to be my stomping grounds. When I was growing up, flatheads were considered as invasive species and were frowned on because they ate and competed with channel cats and blue cats, now they’re everywhere. Thanks for the video Gabe!

I’m from Louisiana but now live in jay Florida. Growing up my poppa would put the biggest flathead of the trip on a fence post. He said it was for good luck. Haven’t thought of that in years ! Great video !

Again another great video. One simple trick I discovered when I was a lot younger, for filleting fish in general was to put them on a rough cut fence board. Here in California we use primarily redwood but anything will work. The rough surface keeps the fish from slipping yet it hoses off very easily.
