What a Golden Group B era was back then! And those shots from T. Salonen crew where both are with cigarette - The real men's hardcore brake in service park - Total Rock 'n Roll and mechanics hard work under a blue sky, and no matters - is it rain or hot sunshine :) Thank's again for that Pure material Passats - appreciate it a lot!
The perfect video to show to a 20yo man what rally means...right on time! Ps.YOU SAVED MY FAVORITE ONE FOR THE END WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING....VOLVO 240 TURBO❤
I wonder why they were competing without no or almost no sponsors wraps. Is this because it was in finland and that was a tribute to Henri Toivonen ? If thats the case, i hope they did the same at the olympus rally in US, for Sergio Cresto 😏
Ford only drove partial season, so they allowed their drivers to drive for other teams as well. Nowadays you couldn't do that obviously for NDA reasons.
Also Kalle Grundel drove non only in Ford in 1986 but also with Lancia here in the 1000 Lakes, and not bad. Only a brake suspension put him only in 6th position, after making big trouble against Micheal Eriksson because slower then Kalle
Despite the withdrawal of the official works team, there were still plenty of Audi privateers out there, making those glorious five-cylinder noises echo through the forests. If only today's WRC cars sounded as good as this.
Lasse Lampi was driving with original Quattro in 1987 still iirc, and he later went to Mitsubishi to work as technical manager, helping Tommi to his championship victories. He actually owns probably the last remaining Galant VR-4 Group A car in Finland, restored it couple years back and drove in some events with it as zero car.
Typical of Salonen and Seppo, but also Juha Kankkunen and Juha Piironen are smokers but with cigars, not cigarettes. Little thing: Timo prefered jet helmets to smoke cigarettes before the latests seconds of the countdown 😄😄😄
Magical footage. Look at how much they had to wrestle these cars around hairpins. There was no easy handbrake pull and let it slide around. You had to do quite a bit of weight transfer, approach it at the right angle and slow down more significantly.

Absolutely fantastic film!! Thank`s a lot for letting us see this masterpiece from the golden era of rallying! Cheers from Sweden!
Just Catalan stuff... we did and do great things in this little country
Dios os pague la maravilla que haceis con los videos de Telesport con muchos hijos ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
Necesitaríamos primero encontrar una madre, tu podrías ayudarnos. Un abrazo.
Lancia and Peugeot were competitors in the 80s and now they're the same family!
I think they will always be anyway! Italian & french are very different

Golden Era🥇
beautiful.
Group B the sound and the power you will never beat it .
Golden era!
Magnifique ! Je serais curieux de connaître la différence de temps au scratch sur une même spéciale entre groupe B et les nouvelles WRC. ..
Gloves On, Lighting a cigarette and let's rallying! Those were the times!
Raw. Natural Group B. Sublime.
Fantastic
Good looking cars!!
That 205T16, what a gem...
The legend 80s
I want the 80's back! Take my money!
What a jewel !!!
First like I’m Timo Salonen
Time when Finns dominated rallying! Luckily we still have Kalle 🇫🇮
205 T16 😍😍😍😍😍
My compliments, can you upload the 1986 Sanremo Rally? Thanks. P.S: n.5 Peugeot of Stig Blomquist was driven at Sanremo by Andrea Zanussi
Esteban Delgado, haciendo entrevistas.
13:47 Peak Group B moment
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
We need 1000 lakes rally from 1984
1985 please 😏

Cameras only couple of tens of meters before and after Alen's crash. There is only not so high quality pictures of Lancia rolled in a ditch. So close.
I see Stig was in a 205 here but I thought he drove a Ford in later Group B days?

Présent au terre du Vaucluse 2024 ?
lancia is actually offroad buggy XD
Very strange exhaust noises from the 205's in the early footage from pre rally tests, weird muffler noise

ua-cam.com/video/nCqNK24TEoA/v-deo.html I really like when they both are smoking. :)

Why martini brand was censored in Lancia Team ?
No Tabaco or alcohol advertising was allowed on the 1000 Lakes Rally at the time.
@@Marvdogger2 also now?
The Marlboro was also censored on other team's overall.
