New computers have zero profit margin. Even places like Best Buy make no money (and often lose money) selling new computers. They make all of their money by selling you $40 cables, software, and rip-off service plans.
Totally, that plus dealing with stupid people was what made me stop. I just moved my business to professional services and maintenance and it was the best thing.

Microsoft for the first time in a very long time is ahead of Apple in both innovation in hardware and software. Look at the Surface Book and Surface Pro 4. Those are beautiful elegant devices that, in my opinion, look and feel more premium than the macbooks or ipads. And Windows 10, you have touch capabilities, digital assistant, bio-metric login, and a full OS on a tablet form factor...can't say the same for the macbooks running OS X.
When you were talking about Windows computers. I agree that they got more complicated for a long time, then Win 7 comes out and kinda feels refreshing to some degree. But what annoys the .... crap out of me is companies like Dell will sell you a computer with a fast processor, big hard drive, all these other features, but put the MINIMUM required ram in them. They were horrible for this back in the P4 Optiplex days, They would sell you a P4 2.8HT with 256mb ram, oh, and then fill it with 6 tons of memory hogging software that runs in the back ground.
I'd rather have a big metal tank that is powerful and not overpriced as hell. I have a very strong up to date pc rig that I built for under $800. Meanwhile a new mac laptop cost up into the $1,000 and beyond. The laptop does not have the same strength and is most certainly not worth the price then. Apple these days cares about looks and that's pretty much it. PC's themselves don't even have to look bad that all depends on whose putting it together.

I agree. I use to fell that my IBM XP was complicated, and then Vista even more, and now with 7 and 8 it's just getting worse. I have only used a Mac for 3 months now, and I BARELY touch my PC. It's like in new condition!
I have an iBook G4. I updated to Leopard 10.5 I have been trying to get iTunes on my iBook but can't get it to work. I downloaded the iTunes 10.6.3 an older version it downloaded and installed but i can't get it to open. Any thoughts on this? Thanks
I disagree about Windows going downhill (Windows 8 and Vista are obvious exceptions), but agree with you about the hardware. Though, I build my own PCs for gaming and I actually make use of all the case room. Going back to the Windows topic, I would say the NT based versions of Windows were a huge improvement over the DOS based versions and weren't especially confusing unless you happened to stumble into Windows 8's obviously horrible metro interface. Windows 2000, XP, 7 and 10 (released after this video) are all excellent and stable. I would even go as far as saying that Windows XP was superior to all Mac OS 9 and OS X versions all the way up to but not including Tiger. Tiger and Leopard did kick the crap out of Vista though. Much of this is subjective though, thus I conclude my rant. lol I do enjoy my white and aluminum iMacs (the white one is one of the first Core 2 Duo models, I think.)
I think it's really interesting to see the position that Microsoft is in now. Everything that he said he didn't really like about MS has improved since then I think. Windows 10 makes a lot more sense than Windows 8. MS is also really started to be somewhat a leader in innovation with the hololens, AI, even the surface are very innovative. Then you look at a lot of the newer Windows laptops, and a lot of them are comparable in thickness and weight as macbooks. Even Microsoft's own current gen Surface Pro is thinner and lighter than Apple's current gen MBP. All in all, I think Microsoft is taking huge leaps to get ahead of Apple, and I think it's cool to see how thats changed in the three and a half years since this video was released.

To be honest, not good enough. It's really broken but an attempt was made, at least. Buuuuut I could still unscramble the sentence without the English subtitles.
The very same year this video was produced I purchased an Asus Zenbook pro that was $600 cheaper than a macbook pro, had a smaller profile despite the same monitor size, had better overall specs and a higher quality aluminum mono-chassis than a macboook. It isn't really fair to compare bargain bin computers to mac products but high end PC products are absolutely fine.
I know what you mean. I've seen people attempting to sell them for $400 on eBay. I managed to get my on a bid for $50 (the seller was selling many of them as bids), after a couple tries. Mine didn't have an OS or charger, though.
What was the price? Also, I got a PowerBook G4 on Amazon.com and it pretty much wasn't used a lot. It was for $120. I would have gone for a iBook G4 but I need a SuperDrive in all of my computers. The price of the iBook was about $130 or more.
I have a question. Why Commodore 64 was never upgraded to more ram, more CPU power, better graphics, like other brands like Apple. Also, why Apple started with the 6510 processor and then then changed to the 68000?
Because that would have broken the compatibility with older software and would have forced software devs to code for both. even the 128 has to go into C64 mode to run C64 software

I've been screwed many times as a seller using eBay because of their horrible return policy on how anyone for any reason can return anything even though you listing states no returns, which is pointless now, why even bother with the option to state you listing as a "NO return[s]" when eBay forces you to return for any reason? Worst of all, once the "item" arrives to your place, eBay automatically refunds them once the tracking states it's been delivered, even though you have no idea if the packages actually contains your item(s).

I would say that what unanimously killed the tec resell industry is the mxt /RISC mother board that despite having maximal performance for minimal heat, the mxt board is garbage if anything goes bad asides from detachable drives,ram or PCI express hardware added by the customer. Unfortunately the norm PC you would get as a tec repair guy is an Intel mxt board which is 100% broken when it's broken. The only way to build and sell mxt hardware theoretically is building raspberry pi but the issue with that is most people whom desire raspberry pi are already tec wizards 100 and know the cost of the components and would not pay extra for convince.

I agree in that Windows and Microsoft sucks altogether. I have to solve problems with Windows for ages now and these are like always the same. I hate it. But one thing left I do not get: Why using Apple's OS instead of a free linux variant? You do not have to be a pro to use some linux distributions. I am pro, somehow, and replaced all my Windows Systems with Debian Linux a year ago. I regret nothing. I am not a gamer, thou. But gaming sucks too, by the way.

Dude get a used iMAC for ~$250 2007,2008,2009 years with 256MB video RAM and up-gradable to 6 or 8 GB RAM and you are good to go.
