Make sure LCD cable is seated in all the way on both ends. Make sure the connections are clean and not damaged. It's possible you may have damaged the LCD cable.
Replacing the screen with a high refresh rate will not improve the performance. If your system can only render a game, at say 43fps, it will still render at 43fps.

That's a small wifi wire it goes into a tiny pin in the motherboard near the fan..
