    I have this exact car, silver, 5 speed manual. Overall I've done the water pump, timing belt, and clutch replacement. Also added a cold air intake. It's a zippy little thing, my daily driver. Cheap and Reliable vehicle through and through. Just as good as any Honda or Toyota I've ever owned.

    Just bought an 07 Aveo5 with 84500 miles. I don't think the timing belt has been done. What's the chnge interval on the belt? Is it something i need to do ASAP?
    Great videos by the way. Makes it easier when you know what to do ahead of time.

      Thanks again for the awesome video that helped me tremendously.
      I found that someone had at some point in time changed the timing belt and only the timing belt. They also didn't alight the exhaust cam correctly, it was off by one tooth. This might explain why the check engine light would come on (p0420) I was about to change the catalytic converter. I might wait and see what happens now that it was done correctly. Again thank you!

    Great video, currently doing my water pump but the manual states use lubriplater on the pumps seal, I don't have a store that sells this near to me in fact anywhere in the country, is there an equivalent I can use? What about normal gasket sealant as a substitute?

    • @axlsnakedog
      @axlsnakedog 5 місяців тому

      Use petroleum jelly to lube the seal during installation to prevent tearing the seal

      @@axlsnakedog absolutely. My son just bought his first car and this is the first thing I am doing to it. Do you know if this was the first timing belt service? I think Chevy recommends replacing it every 60 thousand miles. 200kilometers would put at about 125 thousand miles.

    The decoupler pulley on Mary's chevy equinox blew apart last week. Had to be towed home. Parts should be here tomorrow. Been taking here two and from work everyday since. 40 minutes one way. Getting to see how truly horrible the mileage is in my BMW

    Hello, I like your videos very much and I have a question. I have a Chevy Lacetti with the same 1.6L engine. Water constantly leaks from a hole at the bottom of the water pump, but there is no leak around the edges. is it normal ? This hole is also present in the new piece. Do I need to tighten the bolts on the pump or buy new pump ? thanks, greetings from Turkey

      @@axlsnakedog Yes, I researched this hole and decided that it needed to be changed because at about 20km the water in the tank almost ran out and there was a lot of leakage. I'm sorry for taking your valuable time, thank you again.

      @@axlsnakedog Ok but it seems a little dangerous, I mean you can break bolts, gears and pulleys doing this, and it's unnecessary to do the job on the video description.
      Some clarification would be nice.
