43:20 Fun Fact: The makers of this movie were having so much trouble finding an actor that could play the role of The Vision...until somebody realized that Paul Bettany (voice of J.A.R.V.I.S.) was ALREADY an established actor, so they ultimately got him to play The Vision.
Re: Steve and Tony not getting along: Howard Stark idolized Cpt. America, and Tony heard all about it, over and over, while he was growing up. Steve was like the perfect (dead) older brother that Tony could never measure up to. Consequently, when they meet Tony *really* doesn't like him. This is never spelled out directly, it's all in the subtext and little throw-away asides ("That's the guy my dad never shut up about? I wonder if they shouldn't have left him on ice"). It's one of my favorite (and subtlest) bits of MCU lore. :D
It's really not that subtle tbh. They straight up roast each other in Avengers, and clearly mean everything they say. And while it's impressive that the reason for it isn't outright said in the beginning, they DO say it out loud in Civil war.
When my older brother let me his Marvel comic collection in the 1970s The Avengers was my favorite title and Vision quickly became my favorite character. I thought they did a great job portraying his kindness, thoughtfulness, and gentle disposition when they introduced him to the MCU.

They also started together in “Less Than Zero”
I highly recommend it to see RDJ in one of his best acting performances, imho anyway.
The 'twins' are Wanda and Pietro Maximoff, and in the comics they're actually the children of Magneto, the main X-Men antagonist and Natalya Maximoff, the previous Scarlet Witch. They are known as The Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, respectively.
Quicksilver is basically Marvel's version of the Flash. pretty simple :P
the Scarlet Witch is a very powerful sorceress, able to utilize chaos magic and other supernatural power sources due to her parentage (although earlier in the comic timeline she was a mutant whose power was affecting probabilities).
In the MCU, her powers are awakened by the Mind Stone, which you see for the first time here, and thus she starts out being able to manipulate the Avengers' thoughts and visions.
This also sees the introduction of Tony's NEW Iron Legion, autonomous robots controlled by JARVIS for peacekeeping and other constructive purposes. The old Iron Legion being the 48 specialized Iron Man suits he'd built and destroyed at the end of Iron Man 3.

Great reaction guys! The name Friday that Tony is using is a reference to a 1940 American comedy starring Cary Grant and Roslalind Russell. It’s called His Girl Friday. It’s also an expression for an efficient faithful assistant, “ I’ll get my girl Friday on it right away”. Can’t wait for the next reaction. Keep up the good work. 😊❤

55:06 Nope, you're both wrong. Pietro (Quicksilver) didn't move the car OR move in front of Barton and the child. He actually moved Barton and the child to a different location, but wasn't fast enough.
My favorite comedic exchange in this movie is during the part where Nick Fury appears in a Helicarrier:
Cap: Fury, you son of a bitch.
Fury: Ooh-hoo, you kiss yo motha with that mouth?
One of the things I really love in this one is a sneaky little detail as Tony is picking his replacement AI, one of them is labeled "TADASHI" in reference to Big Hero 6.
It's always awesome to see them working together as a TEAM! That said, it's usually never smooth sailing. Many different opinions and strong minds. But then they set aside their differences and they're great together!
Ultron is one scary IA. He saw the world was not good and decides to destroy it all in one second so it can be reborn. And Wanda's abilities to manipulate the minds are also scary. It was confusing and scary to see the fears of the Avengers. It feels wrong to say it's a favorite part but it is an important part. You should never forget they all have their struggles and inner demons.
My favorite part of this whole movie is Hawkeye. I was a fan from the get go but... he had some great moments in this one. I mean, it's hard when you have so many main characters in one movie to have all of them get enough screen time but here we managed to see a little more of Clint and I loved that. Such a normal guy and with a whole secret family too that are just adorable. I loved his speech to Wanda. Clint really is the one that recruited both Natasha and Wanda.
Ah, btw, did you catch the brief talk between Cap and the Falcon at the party? Sam is looking for a "missing person"...

Wanda and Pietro (last name Maximoff) do have superhero names (she's the Scarlet Witch and he's Quicksilver), but they didn't use them in the first few phases of the MCU because both characters were also being used in the X-Men movie franchise (played by different actors) and Quicksilver was using his superhero name in those movies (it's complicated lol).
They were also forced to kill pietro and not officially call him an Avenger.

Quite a few people did not like this movie. I love this movie but some people don’t quite understand what its trying to say.
Tony wants to retire from being an avenger as seen in Iron man 3. He builds robots like the iron legion to protect others so he doesn’t have to. He and Banner both come up with the idea of Ultron to further this goal. However unlike tony, who wants to protect the world to end the need for the avengers, Ultron wants to end the avengers to save the world.
Ultron sees himself as a god sent to save humanity to keep order. But it is human to be unordered and chaotic. Ultron the decides to end humanity to keep order.
Not everyone agrees with tony. Cap and Natasha find the avengers as their family. Cap has no home to go to. Which is why he gets mad when tony says “Isnt that the why we fight? So we can end the fight. So we get to go home?” This is also seen in his vision that wanda shows him.
Natasha is afraid of her past and upbringing. Back in avengers 1 she says she wants to wipe out the red in her ledger. Being an avenger allows her to do that.
This is why both cap and Natasha are so startled by shield being secretly hydra other than the nazi ties.
Bruce and Natasha also both see themselves as monsters. After the hulk freaks out in this movie he knows he’ll never be known by everyone as a good guy which is why he stays in the Quinn jet.
I also heard this quote somewhere before and i just have to say it. “We never see the hulks worst nightmare from wanda because it ends up happening”
I've loved this movie since it was first released and I've never understood the negativity surrounding it.
In the comics it was (Hank Pym) the original Ant-Man that created Ultron. Because he wasn't introduced yet they went with Stark and Banner creating it

The MCU AI at work differently than regular AI from other movies that turn evil Ultron descent into madness was directly caused by the infinity stone which corrupted Ultron. When Ultron was talking about God casting a stone and he's winding up. Ultron was talking about meteors also he was talking about Thanos and the Infinity Stones.
at time of release i was semi let down with this movie. but after atleast a dozen rewatches, this movie is honestly a really good entry in the mcu. still get chills over my boy Paul Bettany being on screen, i love that dude.

Ultron first appeared in Avengers #54 in July of 1968. Created to be a defender of humanity, Ultron is a self aware and highly intelligent robot who developed a god complex and a grudge against his creator, Hank Pym. His goals of global destruction of humanity have made him a recurring enemy of the Avengers and the arch nemesis of his creator, Ant-Man (Hank Pym). Ultron has also battled the Guardians of the Galaxy and many other marvel heroes.
Pym was the "original" Ant-Man, another great mind, like Banner, Stark, & Reed. Of course, the MCU modified Ultron's and Vision's origins. One of the directors said once, if you wanted the stories adapted exactly, you could just go read the comics. Too bad Quicksilver was short-lived.

Here are some age of Ultron facts. Veronica is a reference to the Archie comic books character and loving interest of Archie. The MCU version of Veronica is a traveling armory that can be deployed from space across the world. That Bruce designed to defeat the Hulk. The reason the Hulkbuster was able to knock out the Hulk because because the buster suit was built to defeat the out of control version of the Hulk with gets stronger every second. So that's why the drug in his system didn't work on the out of control version but when the Hulk calm down then shrunk down who is regular size it started to effect him. Like I said Bruce is the one who developed the Hulkbuster armor which Tony added aspect of its replaceable limbs when damaged and it would fit over his Mark 44 Iron Man suit. Ultron vibranium body at the end of the movie took Thor's lightning the Vision laser beam that is powered by the infinity stone and repulsive blast from Iron Man's armor witch are synthetic version of infinity stone energy just to melt the vibranium body of Ultron. In the comic books Natasha fall for Steve but in the MCU she fell for Bruce because she sees herself as a monster not a hero so ending up with Bruce makes more sense.

You left out the little tidbit that the picked Veronica because Veronica was the “mean girl” love interest, while the nice girl was Betty - which happened to be the name of Bruce’s girlfriend in the first movie.

That hasn't been true for at least 15 years. They are neither mutants, nor his children. In current continuity, they were created by the High Evolutionary, and Magneto was manipulated into believing they were his kids.
In the mcu they're neither. They're humans altered by the mind stone

you've got a while before you get to the HAWKEYE SERIES, BUT ESPECIALLY AFTER THAT HAWKEYE REQALLY IS MY FAVORITE.
Ultron has like tony's personality.. He was like his son in some ways
Wow, as always, guys, greatly entertaining Reaction to Age of Ultron. You guys are genuine reactors; not running commentators-critics, it's like watching it again with my family-friends who are seeing it for the first time.
JARVIS and Ultron were Artificial Intelligences, but by the power of the Infinity Mind stone, which resources and governs the Information phenomena of the universe, essentially the Operating System of reality, melding with the source code amalgamation of Tony and Bruce's programming, JARVIS, and Ultron, advanced Vision to Artificial Consciousness. Vision is a person with a vibranium constituted artificial organic human body.
JARVIS was based on the Stark family's butler, Edwin Jarvis, who had worked for Howard Stark since WW2, and who Tony was close to growing up. He was a relatively simple voice-controlled user interface at first, but grew in complexity over the years.
The other AIs weren't as developed as JARVIS, but the Iron Man armours are designed to use an AI user interface to help Tony operate them. The names of those AIs are all references:
FRIDAY exists in the comics, created by Tony as an AI secretary, a play on the term "girl Friday", meaning a dedicated and efficient female assistant.
JOCASTA also existed in the comics: Jocasta was an artificial being created by the comics version of Ultron, as his bride.
TADASHI isn't a comics reference: it's the name of the creator of Baymax, the robot in the Disney movie Big Hero 6.

This movie is full hints for the future movies
A lot of ppl have this as their least favourite mcu movie but I think it’s growing on you and you start to appreciate it more and more.

Part II 😁 A commenter stated this movie wasn't liked by some ⁉️ How is that? This is just as EPIC as any and has EVERYTHING including Barton's family. The dialogue, awesome speeches, story line. ☮️

There are a few issues, like the stupid bit where they have Bruce and Natasha fall and Bruce’s face goes right into her cleavage. It might not have been so noticeable, except that years later, Joss Whedon inserted the exact same bit into his version of “Justice League” with the Flash and Wonder Woman.
There are only a few things wrong with this movie:
1. Pietro getting killed doesn't make sense. It was done for legal reasons, rather than story reasons. He can outrun bullets. He could have picked up Hawkeye and the kid and carried them out of harm's way. There were probably many other solutions besides taking the bullets himself. But for damn lawyer reasons, they couldn't use him for more than one movie, and they couldn't officially make him an Avenger. So they killed him off.
2. The title "Age of Ultron" doesn't make sense. It's not an age, it's only about a week or less.
3. The twins' anger at Tony because his company made the missiles that were used against them in a war doesn't make sense. Why isn't their anger aimed at the people who fired those missiles? Tony didn't invent missiles. If they hadn't bought missiles from Stark, they would have bought them from some other company and the war still would have happened. A cousin of mine was a security guard and was shot by a robber. I'm not mad at the company that made the robber's gun. I'm mad at the robber.
Other than that, this is a pretty good movie:
1. Opening action scene - Great!
2. Trying to lift Thor's hammer scene - Great!
3. Romanner - Great!
4. Ending battle scene - Great!
5. Clint's family - Great!
6. Lots of great dialog lines. "Will Thor be there?" "But if you put the hammer in an elevator..." "Excelsior!" etc.
7. Lots of other great little details.
@@PhilBagels Interesting. Death of Pietro though senseless (politically?) doesn't make it NOT make sense. He ran into a rain of bullets and sacrificed his life.
#2) Age Of Ultron. Just a neat title as comics do. Some stories are only one comic book long.
#3) Sorry about your cousin. Hope he is ok. If the bullets were maybe Titanium or stainless steel with the makers name intact and PROUDLY etched in them to display, I'm sure there would be some anger towards such pomppass bragging company and owners. Especially if I was CHARACTERIZED TO DO SO in a MAKE BELIEVE WORLD of cinema and or comic/cartoon magazine. I think 🧐☮️

I think that Vision was made as mix of Jarvis, Banner, Stark, Mind Stone, Ultron and other Stark's AI. Of course now he will slowly be more himself that them combined, because as he said, he was born yesterday.
Also black widow could have Helen help her to have kids by using the cradle and Bruce can find someone who can handle his strength and his Gama come to have kids with
James Spader does the voice of Ultron. And yes, couldn’t do much better than him for that role.

Fast dude is Quicksilver, he's one of the X-Men.
In the comics, Wanda ( the Scarlet Witch) and Pietro (Quicksilver) started as villains as well. They are actually Magneto's children... but since Marvel had sold the movie rights to X-Men... they couldn't make that connection... or even call them mutants.
Going forward in phase 3 , this movie counts for a lot.
You'll see why he picked jarvis in a later movie
The twins are xmen mutants from the comics. The vision is a synthetic android from the comics. They've been altered for mcu

Fun fact: Stan Lee's motto in life was "Excelsior" which means ever upwards. So it was a fun bit of dialogue that when he gets drunk he says it. Also, ScarJo was pregnant during the filming of this movie, and so they shot at angles or just used body doubles and replaced their faces.

That mother of the kid Hawkeye saved was a horrible mother. Why did she get to the life rat without making sure her kid was with her.
She isn’t a horrible mother and you have no right to judge her and do you really think she had time to make sure her kid was with all this chaos going on shoot her kid was probably with her moments before they made it on the helicarrier, but they got separated due to all the chaos and panic happening also you only calling her a horrible mother because Pietro died saving Hawkeye who left to go get the kid.

Not that near. In the MCU sequence, AoU is 11, and IW is 19. So this is just a little over half way there.

Gotta say, I did not love this movie. It's definitely the weakest of the Avenger movies and one of the weakest MCU films overall. On the plus side, it did give us Vision and Wanda, so there's that. 🙂
