I have been a fan of The Undertaker since 1990. Heel or face. It didn't matter. I cheered for him as a heel back when he defeated Hulk Hogan at Servivor Series 1991. For the WWE title.
hulk hogan, when i watched as a child I couldn't see his heel like moves and tendancies in matches such as blatant eye gouges etc it is only hindsight :)
i saw a video which titled this song as undertaker heel theme around the time the streak ended and he was returning again, and I feel this would have made perfect sense if he was a man or a grim reaper whatever looking for sacrificial levels of vengeance upon Mr lesnar to the point no one would ever remember the streak being broken. but of course fantasy booking in hindsight is easy :)
when you have saw how dark the undertaker as a character can be, it is like this enforced stripping down of effects diminishes the power these wrestlers SHOULD command as a visual presence. watch wrestling with great lighting and pyro and watch how minimilistic the entrances are at weekly shows and live events nowadays by comparison, and this is not because the wrestlers are unworthy of grandeur and possessing great aura as well as sheer physique, it is more to make the viewer a bit more placid.
