Did you know that Asami... 🔥 | Avatar

- Did you know the character Asami was originally intended to be an Equalist spy? She was going to use Mako to get close to Korra, but the creators ended up liking her so much, they decided to keep her on the good guys’ side! If they hadn't, we likely would’ve had a very different ending for Korra and Team Avatar.

Honestly, her design absolutely looks like an antagonist.
Maybe because she looks like a Fire Nation character from the first serie.
Yea. She gave me Shego vibes.
@@yan13502since the fire nation were evil in the first series, fire nation people were given sharper more aggressive features which makes people seem intimidating
An absolutely adorable Antagonist 😍
@@yan13502true , she kinda looks like Mai if she was a girly girl with makeup and her hair done .
Mako “my two ex’s got together”
Zuko “that’s rough buddy”
how come i just realized both Mako and Zuko end with “ko”, and both of them can firebend and something to do with lightning
My first girl friend turned into a lesbiqm and got with my 2nd girlfriend
That's rough buddy
She was going to use Mako to get close to Korra...
Well, that kinda happened :D
💀
" looks I got some competition "
Agreed!!!!😊 they went rivals to teammates to friends to lovers and I heard they do get married!
@@RavenBlazedisgusting
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I didn't expect they would add the Korra Scream to this part 😂
yea that was weird
Τττρ😂ερτ
The scream never gets old 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
still manage to burst out laughing everytime I see that Korra scream 😂
That would’ve been great. I always thought Asami was a little too perfect, and it would’ve made sense, as well.
totally
Agree 100% . Her character would have been much more interesting this way.
She could have started as a rival antagonist in the first two seasons to redeem herself in the later seasons of the series just like Zuko.
@@luisvelez1952oooh yeah
fr i thought it was all too suspicious yk
I think it'd have been much better actually for her to have been a spy working on behalf of her father at first and THEN changing sides after getting to know Korra and others.
yeah, i think it would’ve added some depth to the series and made it more enjoyable, coming from someone that doesn’t like LOK very much
and i think it wouldve also given the whole equalist movement some (well deserved) nuance. like obviously amon was evil and wrong, but the concept of non benders feeling oppressed is really interesting and not totally pointless just cuz amon was evil. i was always kinda disappointed that the first season seemed to be setting up a more morally ambigous conflict in the first half, where equalists could have had some sort of a point, and then just turned it completely black and white. having asami be an equalist (who then genuinely joins the team) would have allowed for more nuance.
@@jenna127 Absolutely. And unfortunately the point you mentioned repeated in the later Books too. All the antagonists started with some valid points, but then near the end acted like lunatics to make Korra defeating them more acceptable I guess.
Yes I would’ve loved a redemption ark from her. It would be so cool seeing her try to get with Mako to get closer to Korra but then redeem herself and join Team Avatar.
Sans maybe a bit too much taking a page out of Zuko's book, there wouldn't have really been time for an arc of Asami at first being a spy and THEN realizing the wrongs and switching sides to be a member of the heroes within the 12 episode period. LoK has enough rushed elements within it's first season already we didn't need another.
Now it actually makes sense why she tried to get with Mako
Ηηγγηγη
Yes, and why Korra didn't like her in the first place.
This way changed wayyy earlier though. Lol
@@baggelissonic It seems they changed that from book 3 onward. They were getting flirty.
@@neelo821I don’t remember much of that in season 3. I kinda remember being caught off guard in season 4 when Korra and Asami seemed way closer than they had been out of nowhere it seemed like
Honestly i like the idea of her being a spy
I fell like everyone assumed that and it wasn't until about halfway through the first season that we all finally came around and started to trust her 💜
Her putting on the equalist electric glove for the first time hints at her original concept and acts as an Easter egg. I was thinking the first time I saw that episode she would've in fact joined her father.
Korra screaming was literally my reaction as knowing this fun fact. 😂
As a asami fan I see this as an absolute win
Asami Stans rise
That role went to her father
No she was post to help him take her out
@@peteryanes3413 I think Ninja1676 meant that the father got the role as a secret Equalists Spy in Book 1 instead of her.
Not really she was supposed to be in that role with her father like this video side but they changed it
@@DigiPen92it's like what this video side it's like father and daughter working together with amon similar in a way to ozai and azula except I think ozai used azula a little maybe Maybe not
1st time I saw her in the show I though she was a villain.
Honestly she kind of gives Mai vibes like being smart and looks like she knows stuff you'd never know. That's just what I thought when I first saw her.
june vibes too
@@gekkun yep! She's just a baddie and a hottie.
I mean if they made the equalists the main villains of the series, that would’ve been perfect. Could have given Asami an actual storyline and character personality/development.
Unfortunately, only one season was greenlit by nickelodeon initially, so the writers had to make the story fit 1 seasons length.
I love Asami
I mean, who doesn't bro
That would actually make a pretty much sense! For sure, much more that what it all turned into
Asami is the best character in LOK
Real
Asami can do whatever she wants and I’ll still love her.
Simp!!!
It is... Something i can clearly imagine. I already have the scenario in my mind
They should've made her a spy. Like June the bounty hunter.
Now it makes sense why she was such a badie.😂
Hehe "
The way she delivered " i feel so safe with you ., is so real ,
Hahaha " she is too gentle to be the double agent they want her to be "
Por un momento llegué a pensar qué era la nieta de Azula.
I think they could still work with asami being equalist just one that after meeting korra and the crew learning the wrong of her ways and help them in the end (and possibly also because she started having feelings for korra)
That would have made more sense. You know, because she, the beautiful, rich, martial arts master daughter of one of the bad guys, just hit Mako on the road by chance.
I feel like the ending could have still happened, just that perhaps Asami would go through a redemption arc before getting together with Korra? Honestly it would have been nice to have more stories about the equality’s in general, they seemed to disappear after Book 1.
I mean they’ve done banger redemption arcs before I don’t see why they couldn’t have done it again. Still that’s just my view on it, I still love Asami regardless
“Use Mako to get close to Korra” well when you put it that way it actually went down like that
She is so beautiful
Trying to get to Mako to infiltrate team avatar but falling for the avatar. That would have been fun.
Can you imagine? The series having a straight ending? (Pun intended)
What you mean straight ending?
Just asking and What pun intended.
I get so happy whenever I think of Bryke liking Asami so much that they didn't take the spy route with her character. That has to be one of the smartest decisions they made for the show.
Asami is one of the characters with the biggest heart in the entire Avatarverse and I love her just the way she is❤
Can't wait to have more The Legend of Korra content and see more of her.
Simp!!!
what was so great about korras ending
They liked her so much that was hardly ever used in Season 2 & 3
Oh man Korra's heart would break also that Korra reaction is so hilarious
I would have liked an ending when korra bags a guy
If Asami was an equalist's spy, we wouldnt have this rediculous ending.
It would have been very different, interesting, but different. Anyway, I couldn't be happier with how it all ended after all ❤
Love asami
Very disappointed ending of the legend of koraa 😢😢😢😢😢
They should have made her like zuko, a villain who then gets a redemption arc and joins the avatar hero team in the second half of the series. That would have suit her well and made her much more interesting.
I wish you went with that
I Never fully came around to linking asami when I first watched the show because I was so convinced she was going to be a spy
Bruh, i thought she was a spy throughout most of the first season. The way she speaks just sounds too practiced, like she trained to speak a certain way or something if that makes sense.
I kinda wish that they followed through with her being a spy
To be honest i had those feelings from her on my first watch.
Yes... we would have had a much better ending...
What you mean a straight ending?
Think that a better ending to
Yeah, that would have made sense.
But why didn't they just go thru with it, and then pull a Zuko type redemption thingy. That woulda been fresh
The legend of korra and asamimeimeieimaiamjwoowahh.
I reckon Asami being an Equalist spy could’ve worked out, with her eventually switching sides once she got to know Korra & the boys (eventually falling in love with the former) & saw the harm her father & Amon were doing - that way we still could’ve ended up with relatively the same ending in Book 4.
A very different ending
I would have liked that 😂😂
Cope and seethe
This would be crazy fun on a big server. Imagine this but with 20 people and a bit more prep time, that would be so much fun
They could have still done that make her have a heel turn, you know.
Avatar korra is the best avatar ever
cap
Well yeah but others might disagree your statement but it's your opinion
Korra is the worst
The colour scheme matches
Well she look like Thalia al’gul
I think i would have liked her a lot more as a villain because despite me liking Asami, she is the most boring, plain and “flawless” character. Her using Mako to get to Korra would have been really cool.
I felt like she was going to turn out a bad guy, and then was surprised when she didn't. I'm glad she didn't tho
She should have been an antagonist…
I like her too ❤
Awesome ending
Would be cool if she would have a small redemption arc
Still wish they gave her personality and not have her be a plot device.
She almost put the bad in baddie 😂
Yk from the very first time she was introduced..my first thought was that she would be the antagonist and she would turn and show her actual bad side to the group...BCz it's just how she was portrayed I guess...she looks more like an antagonist in appearance.. and maybe that would be better if they make her antagonist at first and then starts to redeem herself BCz of the destruction she had caused..that would make her character more lovable imo
Tbh I was convinced all the time that Asami in the end would turn even, but no. She stayed.🫶
She was kinda extra baggage after the first session (ashame).
It was a disservice to both Asami and Kora to use her just to make Kora's preferences ambiguous at the end. She could have been better utilized during the later part of the show and that potential relationship could have been flushed out...wherever it was headed.
KORRASAMIIIII
worst cppl
So you’re telling me KORRA WAS GONNA BE STRAIGHT AND YOU STOPED IT
YEAH ITS SO COOL RIGHT??
@Paws_in_the_grass Nope not at all
She's not Asami, she's "THE MOTHER"
Same as iroh, i've heard that iroh suppose to betray zuko, they change it because they like iroh as wise man, not as the cunning one
I actually got really scared for korra and friends when first seeing asami
It would have made her a much more interesting character honestly. They could have given her a redemption arc of sorts. They also could have given us a more interesting glimpse into the mind of someone who feels resentment towards her circumstances of being born without powers in a world where powers are so significant.
A very attractive female protagonist in this show was a treat
They could have started her as a spy to a friend and then a friend to a lover for Korra 😏
i think we all predicted it to be the case im glad it wasn’t bc then everyone would’ve seen it coming and ruin the surprise
They need to make a Movie about asami
Way to go Ikki!!
Probably would not have been a bad Idea to have a different ending to be honest.
I agree, it felt like it came out of nowhere
I love Asami❤
I wish she was a villain
I always thought she was a double agent
Or perhaps... From Rival to Lover , Sound more interesting to me.
I actually would have liked that better. And then later in the series she gets a redemption arc because she actually starts to like the gang. Because honestly her love for Mako felt so forced, just so forced, that her NOT being an equalist spy makes no sense.
Also it makes it less awkward if she wasn't ACTUALLY in love with her wife's ex boyfriend.
Tbh they should've made her a spy i initially thought she was a villain I didn't trust her lol.
I KNEW IT
Best friends 🥰🥰
That would’ve been cool
Did you know Asami is the most beautiful girl of avatar universe ?
I'm still not convinced Korra and Asami really got together at the end. It wasn't really clear. I would have hoped for at least a heartfelt conversation about their feelings at the end. But to me it looked more like they became best of friends then anything else
Yeeeeah...... i can see that.
I like rhe original idea better
I just realized that Aang and Korea are both shorter than their partners, during the show tho.
Would have been fine with a different ending.
I mean. The ending we Got was pretty tame
No it definitely would have made a better ending
They had no build up like avatar TLAB it was just oh they are together now just because….
@@jojotaylor8079 If you read the Comics you'll understand the build Up Trust me i thought Just Like you before Reading them
The real *shock* was the end
🚢 it
Also, who would've been the non-bender in the Krew
I literally spent the whole first season wondering when she would betray us because of her antagonist design
