I'll never forget the day I got to do a couple duets with you Brad. I was in the singer/drummer in the wedding band one spring day in Scituate Massachusetts. Someone asked if a guest could come up and sing. If I remember correctly, we did a couple Garth Brooks songs. I knew when I heard you play guitar you'd be a big success. You said you had some people pushing you. I believe Roy Clark was one. I remember thinking you wouldn't need them. A year or so later the fishing song came out. We all know where it went from there. You deserve it brother. You've become a real national treasure.

I've gain more respect from every MUSICIAN doing this right here. Even if I don't care for their music. "The show must go on" you see most "young artists" are no where to be found. They don't sound so good without backup tracks and autotune.. shout out to actual musicians
"Beating the blues" is definitely appropriate language for country music. The bastard child of blues music if I've ever seen one.

It is so wonderful to be able to see and hear this music in the raw. No glitz, no glam, no distracting hot country girls, just pure voice and playing talent. There aren't many artists who could pull this off live, or take the risk of being exposed as less than what their image folks have created. These guys are the real thing, and its beautiful to see. Why are all the big moments in my life sung by Brad? Getting my first car with my grandpa there to see it and man, he so proud. It was a Chevy Malibu from the dealership my grandpa used from day one by the way lol. Years later, my grandpa passed and it was just my grandma and I and I listened to Waiting on a Woman while my grandma passed from cancer. I know my grandpa was waiting on that bench for her. Fast forward to my next car and I was given two sets of keys and thought "Where do I put the extra set?" and right away I saw my grandpa in my mind smiling and thought I should put them in his top drawer and in an instant, I realized he was gone but I knew in my heart, he was so happy that we had a car. So ya, Brad narrates my life and reminds me of those I've loved.

Don't take a second for granted and take all the photos/videos you can. When that time comes, well.... When I Get Where I'm Going will hit you that much harder but you will have to be strong and know he's with you because when someone you love goes ahead, they maybe take a part of you but they leave a part of themselves, that is true unconditional love. I am not a big modern country fan and these days I am not sure Brad qualifies but my true test to any musician is if they can play with just them and a guitar and still sound like the album. He for sure passes that test. P.S. I ❤️ Hootie.

Very different from the usual ACMS, but I enjoyed seeing everyone perform basically unplugged. You can hear someone's true talent when that happens. No lights, no huge production, autotune, etc.
