EXACTLY!!! OMG. Talk about painful. That, plus having to watch and listen to all the scrubbing audio and wedding footage. Sooo... damned... painful to watch.
Also, someone mentioned when retiming that it's better to click Optical Flow when doing this, and setting motion estimation to Enhanced Better. Speed warp is only available in the full paid version of Resolve, I believe.
awesome tutorial and expalining, really helpful to know that is was so simple. one tip thought, giving people the information faster would be way better for your videos, maybe not 3 min but 1 min at max, althought good video!
thnx alot. Gotta say it would have been easier to just show the last bit and make it shorter and more to the point. But this definetly helps me before instagram tries its own conversion.
On the bottom right corner you can get to project manager (home icon) and project settings (gear icon) instead of going to the menus to speed up your flow.
so the 60fps timeline rendered video and 30fps timeline rendered video both playback with same look? i think put 60fps clips into 30fps timeline will make strange motion blur coz the shutterspeed was different.
So after using your method, if there is a clip I need to slow down, how can I use my 60 FPS footage to create slow motion on a 30 FPS timeline in DaVinci Resolve? Is the best way to right-click the clip in your timeline, select "Change Speed," and slow it down there, or is there a better way to ensure the best slow-motion quality?
The frames are still there. You can still slow it down. I do it all the time dumping 4k 120fps in a 4k 24fps timeline and can slow it down to 25% with it looking super smooth.
This prob the only thing I hate about davinci because when you slow down the footage and then you put in a 24fps timeline it looks choppy but in the 60fps timeline looks fine but when you render the slow motion doesn’t look cinematic. 😢
I always film in 60fps but let say I have different clips with different frame rates and change clip that is 60fps attributes to 24fps to slow it down that way. If I put it in new timeline that’s 24 it will look poopy unless I render that timeline at 60fps. So the goal is to render at 24fps . Idk how to explain correctly. But yes
Not joking. This has helped a lot of people. I think you can also delete the timeline to get change the timeline frames again. Never tried it but should work.
@@heynow2880 yeah thats a pain to deal with cause then you start adding files by the time i realize i had to check the fps settings im already gone in that spiral of long timeline so i have to make a big backup file incase something goes wrong
This is so stupid. In Sony Vegas you just chose to render video in 30fps and that's it. It will be rendered in 30fps, while in Davinci Resolve they had to complicate it...
Before you make a video, why don’t you practice what you’re going to record… Get it down… And then do a demonstration. You might even want to rehearse.
how to convert 60 fps video to 30 fps, I wan't to do this, because I want to save space on my hdd, how to to reduce only the fps, without touching the bitrate

Just create a new timeline in your new project before you past the clips. The new timeline will stay in 30 fps

I honestly can tell if it is 24fps and inputting 60 or 30fps. It figures out by dropping the frames
