First Day in Rapa Nui National Park (Everything You Need To Know)

This has been one of my oldest impossible dreams. I have always wanted to go to this little piece of rock in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and today, finally, I managed to make my dream a reality. Join me onboard a 5 hours long LATAM flight from Santiago to Hanga Roa and let's explore the main town of the island, before we make it all the way to the Rapa Nui National Park to see the stunning Moai statues.
Hanga Roa is a very small town, there are very few cars, everything is within a walking distance. Located in the tropical zone, the weather warries from Very Sunny to Raining Cats and Dogs (and all of that within seconds and without warning :D )
But how do people actually live here? What is the connection with the mainland, how many of locals actually ARE locals - meaning the Rapa Nui people.
What are the prices for food and drinks, what is the entry fee for the national park? And what is there to do in general?
And is the Dengue fever still a risk?

this is seriously one of the dream destination. although I actually never thought about what else is there on the island, everyone shows always only the main statues... very nice work :)
