The incessant "Caribbean Swell" makes life interesting on passage regardless of when you leave. Being pregnant just makes it that much more interesting. Beautiful trip though.
I really enjoy your videos. They are informative and entertaining. One question. How do you go about picking or selecting the music/ songs that you use? I think your selection of music is as good as your videos. Or sometimes it makes the videos even better! I have thought about this many times as I tune in and watch weekly. Thank you for your content. Stay safe and God bless.
Thanks Todd. Honestly I use epidemic sound as my platform because it’s royalty free. I just sift through the tunes there. It’s fun to try out different genres.
As you are now realizing, since you left the east coast of the U.S.A., you will be dealing with open ocean more; between islands, until you reach Panama and get into the Canal. Dealing with foreign Customs and Immigration is fun too. Isn’t it? And little in the way of locally produced weather information. I know you probably have subscribed to a WX routing service, but weather being weather, they are not always accurate. Don’t miss the walk street shopping area in Panama City or the huge public market place. If your heading up from Panama, stop at the Islas Secas. If the weather is good and the water clear, you may swim with turtles in crystal clear water. Pacific side of Costa Rica is very wet and buggy along the shores of the big inlets. Be vigilant with bug repellant! Dengue fever is endemic and you don’t want to experience that! I speak from experience. Malaria is there too, but not common. You probably know about Scopalimine pataches for seasickness. They work for most people. There is another seasick drug, not available in the U.S. Can’t think of the name of it, but when I do I’ll send it along. Most Central American countries have very loose rules regarding obtaining prescription drugs in their pharmacias. Ask, and you shall receive! Also know that in all the Central American countries, the educated class take anti parasitic meds every six months, just to be sure. They are inexpensive and readily available in the pharmacies there. You will be well received there as they love kids and enjoy them. The poverty and inequities will trouble you. It is what it is. (Back later now. Look for” Sturgeron.” Not available in the U.S. but is in Mexico, Great Briton and possibly Panama. Check with your doc regarding safety while pregnant. No drowseyness.)
Most insurance company has an unsaid policy anywhere where the Americans had to have a military action in the last 50 years the insurance rates are much higher in 10 years that should go down cuz it'll be at the 50 or Mark since the last time the US had a military action in Grenada I would say 2033 would be the year since it was 1983 when the military action took place
Logistic question…..It seems when the captain is aboard, you guys relinquish all boat handling to him……….Why? I understand why he is aboard and needs to be aboard full time, but “pretending” he is not there would be better for your own growth as live aboards……You are both very capable………
@@csranch2000 I’m only assuming with Brooke being pregnant and their itinerary and plans up in the air, having the Capt aboard makes making decisions easier with more flexibility. I also think they really enjoy having him aboard….I am just assuming.
Just helping us. We certainly don’t relinquish all to him! But think of it this way… if he’s docking we can actually film. It’s really hard to film and dock at the same time. So the times you are seeing him dock, that’s because we are filming!!
Brooke, you spoke about insurance problems, but don't you have underwriters for your own company that can take care of you? I mean you guys are in tthe business, right?
A trip of ups and downs so to speak - love the family tenacity and absolutely adventurous 👍👏 Kids are super and Be Baby safe 😊

Dan's back?
Good video, sorry ya'll are having to rush and push through to get to Grenada. It's a great Hurricane hole while you have the new addition. Stay safe.
If you going to Grenada install a 5-in deck gun on the bow and make sure you have some small arms on board. Have a great Sunday 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
you are at "La Parguera" in Lajas, Puerto Rico
LOL that sign!! 🤣😂🤣😂
Safe travels guys. This was a great video.
Great video you guys. Hope all is well with the baby Brooke.
Cool another Nordie! 👍👍
Try using an eye patch for while underway! You will look like a pirate but wont have sea sickness :)
Do you ever save any of the salt you collect on the boat from the spray?
Nah but we should start selling that stuff haha
@@ABOARDMERMAIDMONSTER labeled with date and location/ocean name, we could start collections…
It is days like this that make the good ones great, each one, one should learn from. If it was all great you would not be doing it. Hugs to all!
Best way to live is to relax and wing it with common sense and caution.
Best wishes

I keep forgetting how difficult it is to take a dog internationally
All I can remember about Grenada was back in 83 we had to go and evict the Cubans and the Soviets from Grenada
Are you going to need a bigger boat when baby arrives? Be safe.
Obviously 😉
TRY GREEN APPLES they may help with your sea sickness.
Interesting. Never heard of this one before!
@@ABOARDMERMAIDMONSTER I learned it while travelling on cruise ships. Since your preggers it is an non-chemical option. I hope it helps!

It’s honestly just because of weather patterns… braden sells insurance for a living hahah
Do you mind me asking how much is the fuel please?
At the time of the episode it was less than 5 a gallon. A lot cheaper than it was in CA.
Thanks 👍
Looks like the emotional hormones are doing their part. Troopers.

I missed why is the Capitan aboard? Helping transit the boat or teaching mode? I missed the reason.

Not American horses... Then it took it.. Must of wanted to prove she can be American 😂🤣😂🤣 but you are right normally they wolf it down..
Reason why Cuban horses and donkeys are so nice cuz they never had to deal with Republicans
Agree, they must be controlled by Democrats since they're in cages with all their freedoms taken away and relying on handouts from others for food.
