Really interesting. My main reason for not wanting a first look is because I feel like if my fiancé has already seen me then we should walk down the isle together which takes away Dad's role in the day.
It's such a personal decision. My thinking was very much the same as your's, but I have now come round to the idea after speaking to so many people who decided to do one. BUT, if you don't feel its right for you when don't feel like you have to because others are. Its so magical both ways - and BOTH option are beautiful.
