    This is NOT exactly new technology. The same arrangements are used in power plants which uses slip ring for exciter circuit. Instead of slip ring, Mahle uses magnetic induction to transfer power from static coil to movable coil in the rotor, then convert to DC into exciter coils.
    It works as motor by applying rotating AC field in the stator coil. It works as generator when external motive force are applied to the rotor (regen braking), produced AC power in the stator coil.

      So it is a simple synchronous motor that has been in use for hundreds years.

      @@alexlo7708 It is a variation of synchronous motor invented by Tesla. In the common classical Induction synchronous motor, rotating 3 phase current in the stator produce field which induces current in end-shorted squirrel cage, which produced opposing field in the rotor, which then produce motive force.

      "It works as motor by applying rotating AC field in the stator coil" -- does that mean it is still a BLDC motor, but its permanent magnets are replaced by electromagnets that are energised by the DC currents converted from the AC voltage induced from outside (contactless commutator of some kind)?

    Good morning, could you explain to me how to produce an alternating current from direct current? I had a number of theories

      I believe it uses an inverter like a lot of EVs & Hybrids do.

    Da kann man nur sagen... hut ab. Dieser transferiert die Energie wie ein Transformator (ueber das metal zwischen den Spulen), welche perfekte wiederverwertung der Technologie.
    Die Frage ist nur, ob man so einen Motor auch "flach" machen kann, so dass er in artikulierte Roboter eingebaut werden kann, speziell solche die einen sehr grossen Rotor-Shaft haben.

      I think power some coil in rotator and then you have electricity in stator? 🤔

      Doesn't it work like an alternator?

    • @IrelandLover
      @IrelandLover 2 місяці тому +1

      @@Eduardo_Espinoza Yep, but the electricity gets transferred to the rotor coil via magnetic induction instead of using brushes.

      Yes, but you'd need an activation current just like in an alternator.

      Still under development.
      Sadly, the production is very complicated -> expensive.
