    Eco is great but You Need the QRS carbon tank if you want to continually get rid of the chlorine and some other chemicals. The mixed bed will reduce it a bit for sometime but the chlorine will take some toll on the inners and would require tune ups.
    I'm finally hooking up mine to my new home

    1. Does the EC5 does a much better job than a normal water softener system which is probably 10% of the price?
    2. Does it also give you tons of laundry supplies and soaps when you buy the Rainsoft system?

    • @TheEVAddict
      @TheEVAddict  2 роки тому +1

      I can say it is without a doubt expensive...but it is a home conditioning system that removes other things too such as chlorine, a chemical. This is important in the city. Off the shelf systems only soften water hardness and remove calcium / iron.
      They do give you a bunch of supplies!

    Hi Mike,
    We plan to buy this I have a question, is this enough for my house sq ft 3350 with 6 members and water back ward and front 100X44 lot, how much do you spend on resins. Please guide us

    • @TheEVAddict
      @TheEVAddict  2 роки тому +1

      Hi! Our home is 3,311 and easily handles 4. We have a special needs child and that requires 2 sometimes 3 loads of laundry a day! The resin is all under warranty lifetime.
      The salt is Block preferred. They do maintenance on it which is $250 and worth it because they change a lot of small parts. The system runs wirelessly and they even put a soft water faucet off the unit for me to wash my car.

    Ultrefiner II vs Hydrefiner II? What’s the difference and which one is better?

    • @TheEVAddict
      @TheEVAddict  2 роки тому

      Hydrafiner is all most need. Removes everything including chlorine and fits under your sink.
      Ultra finer is a whole home purification and purifies even bathroom water.
      Personally - the purified faucet in the kitchen is all most need.

    So random question. I just moved into a house with this system installed. But my family really wanted to keep drinking from the water and ice connected to the fridge. You can’t do that with this set up correct? Trying to read up on it as they did not leave me any info! :(. Thanks!

    • @TheEVAddict
      @TheEVAddict  3 роки тому +1

      What will happen is this system removes harness, and chlorine/arsenic from system. Most off the shelf units remove hardness only.
      Your fridge has a separate filter and though those filters are expensive…it will need to continue because drinking plain softened water is not healthy.
      The unit that goes under the sink is a superior filter and takes everything out.
      What I do is fill those 5 gallon blue containers with the sink purified water (hydrofiner) unit.
      I then put that container on the water chiller which can be bought from Walmart or hardware stores.

      Hi Liv! Yes- the HYDREFINER tastes delicious actually. We were buying spring up until it- but even the spring water has a lot of contaminants... nothing that would make you sick though. This softener and the HYDREFINER have made living here much more tolerable. It’s been the best of 3 water softeners I’ve owned. The lifetime warranty is worth it... of course it’s expensive... but the EC5 really does a great job getting chemical out of the water.. which is what most systems can’t remove.

    Thanks Mr. Toenis,
    I live in Orlando and have Rainsoft EC 5 installed shortly after hurricane Irma. Te water softener stopped working 6 months ago and has been discharging the brine into the drinking water system instead of the drain. Consumer beware that although EC5 comes with lifetime warranty you have to buy their maintenance annual Package which I didn't. I'm pretty Savvy person as a handyman but need some troubleshooting guidance to figure out how to fix the system.
    Can you help. Thanks in advance.

      No yearly maintenance plan was offered, just lifetime on their resin tank. The only fee they said they would have is a diagnostic fee if they came. Seeing how there are no negative comments here I'm guessing this will be purged but for what it's worth...I had an associate of Rain Soft come out and test my water for free, and me, not being ignorant knew there was a sales pitch so I figured hey, why not? You test my water for free and I'll listen, but what I was not expecting was a TWO hour sales pitch, yes that's right, a TWO HOUR sales pitch. Now I did not agree to an (all in all) 2 1/2 hour seminar, and no one sure as hell said anything about a 2hr sales pitch. Your product seems legit but F being truthful and respectful to your customers I guess.
    How about Rain Soft follow some common decency "community guidelines" and not lie about taking a family's time hostage for a (not agreed upon) sales pitch!
    And F off with the price, Rain Soft charge too much because you have too much overhead. By the time I'd get the product I'd be paying 6-7 times what the system is worth. You have the people that make your products materials, the people that make the product (I'm assuming Rain Soft), sales pitch team (mine was Lifetime Solutions), Home Depot, the contractors, and THEN taxes. By simple reasoning that is up to SIX TIMES that the product increases in cost. Maybe I'd be willing to pay 3x the cost, I would understand if it was: produce, install, and taxes, THAT would be fair. Maybe when I'm richer can I afford to pay everyone off Rain Soft owes money to. There's a reason why they have to have a lifetime warranty, because they know it costs too much.

    • @TheEVAddict
      @TheEVAddict  3 роки тому

      Negative is that it is a major dent in finances! I agree that the sales pitch can be time consuming. I told my guy to get to the point.
      I did happily take the cleaning products which at 6 months later, I'm still using consistently.
      Hmm price is relative - I've compared to all 1-2k unit setups at any major appliance store and they don't filter chlorine or arsenic as well.
      The system is extremely high quality...but who buys a Lamborghini for its ability to drive? Cheers mate.
