I really do feel Eren from season 1 to the basement is just full of hope, but when he finally found what's in the basement, the truth, I believe that just his ultimate breaking point, so that's why in the final scene in the sea he's like already dead inside. 😢
I think Eren still had a bit of his old self after the basement. The moment it truly went downhill for him was what he saw when he touched Historia
They really broke him. Each betrayal, each loss, everything led up to this point.
@@Mitsu2040 that's why my eyes always roll up when reactor doesn't understand why Eren wants to do the kill everybody, it's like they don't get the character develop in 3 seasons..
@@shingetaashe9299 Yes, season 4 has a way of making people forget all that's happened in favor of the new kids on the block. But each moment led to this. Losing his mom, getting eaten, losing his comrades in Levi Squad, Annie's betrayal, Reiner and Berthold's betrayal after that, losing Hannes, seeing Frieda's memories and how he ate his dad, hating himself, losing Armin (momentarily), and finally seeing Grisha's true memories/future. It all chipped away at his soul.
This episode marks a before and after for eren, one of the best character arcs of all time. Season 4 let’s gooooo!

Eren didn't say "resolve" 😉. He said "kill", this is not a normal or even human thought when you're referring the the literal rest of the world. That has a different name. Something that rhymes with "blenocide". What you have to wonder is, does that happen or is there another way?

I have an insight that will be so helpful on the season left.
Eren actually has 2 titan powers, the attack titan and founding titan, and exist 7 more bc they are 9 in total.
We know Colossal titan, Female Titan, Beast Titan, Cart titan, Ymir's titan (I can't say the name bc it's spoiler), Armored Titan, and the two of Eren (Left one titan to know).
Talking about race, exist Marley that are people of the Country where Grisha born.
Eldia it's all people who descendant from Ymir (the founder) so it's all people who can become a titan, it isn't the same compare the island people with the continental people saying Eldia vs Marley, because in marley are eldians too like grisha in his time, Eren kruger (the Owl), etc.
So Eldia and Normal people if talk of races and Island and Marley if we takj about places.
And a fact who no too much people notice it's the royal blood inside the walls and outside, inside the walls we have Reiss (like Historia) and outside we have Fritz (like Dina).

You forgot to mention there is one titan shifters that has yet to be released. With the umrelease titan shifter that makes up all 9.

Eren as we all knew and loved from first ep season 1 until that Eren kissing Historia hand point, is gone forever now. Eren is change now. From that point he is someone else, someone new. The outside world change him and pressure him that he's got to change if he really wants freedom.
Yes! Eren expect that there's a freedom outside of the walls but because of his dad memories, he knew that there's no freedom. There's only the same cruelty that happened to their people outside of the walls
This is probably the saddest episode once you know all that happens next season. 😢

The reason why admin was picked over Erwin was completely psychological. Erwin only pushed through with passion because of his own selfish desire to uncover the truth and prove his father’s theory. If Erwin did end up finding out the truth, he would be like an extinguished torch. Without its fire like passion. He would no longer gamble nearly as much as before because the matter is no longer both personal and for humanity. It’ll be just for humanity. Erwin also already gave up on his dream and decided to let arming take his place.
You got to have understand by now that Eren’s psyche is broken.

The sea scene is always bittersweet, my heart breaks for Eren. He had hopes and expectations, he had to go through a lot to reach "freedom" only to realize that nothing he believed was true. For the next season get ready because a totally different plot is coming
