    SpaceX BIG Change for Dragon Reusability is totally HUMILIATED Starliner and Soyuz...!
    Launching cargo and crew dozens of times, with 5 times being reused might sound ordinary if you stand from SpaceX's perspective. But it's something that SpaceX's competitors, Soyuz and Starliner, cannot achieve. Soyuz launches frequently but lacks reusability, while Starliner is still struggling to launch its first crewed flight.
    SpaceX BIG Change for Dragon Reusability is totally HUMILIATED Starliner and Soyuz...!Therefore, after SpaceX conducts Crew-8 and undocks Crew-7, I believe now is the appropriate time to discuss Dragon's reusability and how SpaceX has humiliated its competitors.
    Let’s find out on today’s episode of Alpha Tech:
    SpaceX BIG Change for Dragon Reusability is totally HUMILIATED Starliner and Soyuz...!The space frontier can't be settled with throwaway rockets and spacecraft. Recognizing this and pursuing a philosophy of reusability, SpaceX has achieved remarkable milestones throughout its tenure. By safely ferrying astronauts to the International Space Station aboard a previously flown Dragon spacecraft, SpaceX has demonstrated the capabilities they deem essential for significantly reducing the extraordinary costs associated with human spaceflight, while also contributing to ushering in a new era of autonomy for the entire U.S. aerospace industry.

    Amusingly, the intro mentioning that “the space frontier can’t be achieved with throw away rockets and spacecraft” made me think about how just about ALL space flight fiction ever written always assumed re-usability and would talk about refuelling etc. funny how reality is only now catching up with the fiction of the 40’s and 50’s and beyond 😊

    With SpaceX and Starship, there is a need to get things geling - and fast. Yes, it has to be done safely and with safety in mind.... Achieve the goals that are being set then call it out, until then..

    SpaceX continues to be innovative and efficient, while the legacy aerospace industry continues to waste time and money doing things the old way. Starship vs SLS, Vulcan & Ariane 6, 'nuff said.👍👍

      I agree with you but to be fair to nasa they are required by the government to have a back up plan in case space x fails. Just wish there was another company that was willing to take the same risks when it comes to rapid innovation.

      @@triage2962 you do understand they are ordered to destroy the ship per the launch license and on top of that they make the engine so that who cares if he wants to uses his money to make rockets and engines that most parts of the world depend on. Now he is making it bigger to save everyone more money. Now for the last tid bit while other companies are wasting hundreds of millions trying to make a falcon 9 so in the end who is really wasting money.

    What would it take to certify to make a Super Draco propulsive landing?

    • @KingdaToro
      @KingdaToro 27 днів тому

      First of all, you'd need to make changes to the spacecraft. The Super Draco valves were replaced by burst disks, after a leaky valve caused the explosion of the Demo-1 Dragon during a test. Burst disks mean the SuperDracos can only function as escape engines, as they'll run at full throttle until depletion when the disks are burst. They'd have to be changed back to valves, and the spacecraft would need landing legs, which would need to go through the heat shield. That's a potential problem, and was the initial dealbreaker.
