I am actually obsessed with the Eng voice. I think people don't immediately agree with it because it doesn't really sound like your typical anime guy voice but the VA did a FANTASTIC JOB WITH SAMPO. The delivery is overly enthusiastic and "kind" and "innocent" which really brings out the already there shadiness of Sampo. Even his laugh is so ridiculously goofy and feels overdone but it feels intentionally overdone. Like a person who you can tell is both extremely cunning and planning really far ahead but playing the helpless idiot card to have people dismiss them. There's just a feeling whenever he speaks like.... this isn't your real speaking voice, most of the things you just said are either exaggerations or just plain lies but you play the joker and the clown so well that I can't put my finger on what's an act and what isn't. I love characters like him and I think the VA understood the damn assignment.
I also love his Eng VA! In some certain lines he has, his voice goes wayyyyy deeper and serious then flips back to his usual flamboyant, upbeat tone like it's nothing. It's interesting to hear how different he can sound.
@@Luna_Scinx yes! sorry for the late reply but it's just those brief moments where he takes the "mask" off that really completes the whole... shady but brilliant vibe of sampo. like it's so brief you think you misheard him and before you can have time to process it he flips back to his absolutely clownery. It'd feel so unsafe AND entertained if I was in the same room with someone like sampo lmao
I actually love the dub cast because their acting for the most part is subdued and that's a breath of fresh air given the medium. The erm/ums, dragged out pronunciations, breaths between words, pauses, it all makes them sound natural and like they're actually conversing with one another.
i love him so much. he's so interesting and shady. especially with the belobog ending scene he had and his possible relations to the path of Elation/ "Sam" of the Stellaron Hunters

My sister plays Honkai, so I occasionally get videos like this in my recommended, but I found a theory video about Sampo, and without knowing anything about the story at large or anything specific about it, I can tell his voice actor truly gave an unforgettable performance. Every single line is carefully designed, every word and syllable carefully chosen in such a manner that there is an underlying rhythm to what is being said, walking the fine line of having a different delivery than the player but also maintaining cohesion within this different rhythm. None of the lines’ delivery are what I initially expect, but the way they are delivered makes anyone know at first hand who this type of fella is. Those sing-song-like waves, sometimes jumps and dips in timbre for emphasis, and often pauses in both the wrong place and the right place in the sentence, they’re all perfect for the “shadowy comic relief,” eh?

I don't have a Kafka but since he's in the shop I'm saving up for him so it's only a matter of time.... I still think us not getting a PS4 port wasn't great though btw, especially since I could've sworn they did beta testing for it...oh well...

Okay hear me out I have a theory. That Samo may actually be Aha, Cause like. Aha is really well known for descending to a human form and pranking the fools. Not only that but his mask (shown in sparkles lightcone) looks like the main one Aha uses. He is the only character that breaks the fourth wall. And basicly is just too interested in the trailblazer for no reason, also his comment in which he guessed that they came here by train could be smth. Ik that’s a crazy theory but hear me out

sampo's eng va was a bit offputting at first but now i downloaded the eng dub just for him😍😍 the eng va is perfect
