    Oh thank you so much for all of your advice Emman. What you like, are the same exact plants I love:
    Orchids, hoyas and african violets. I am going to Lowes to get the ingredients for the medium you created. My orchids have NO air roots. I love seeing them on your healthy plants and I want my plants to thrive. To me, air roots are a sign of good health. Thanks to your husband for demonstrating the pest control. It is awesome that he supports your hobby. 😊. I look forward to your next video.

    I tried this 3 days ago and found hundreds of dead bugs and spiders on my balcony. The never ending scale seems to have gone. No damage to various orchids that I can detect as yet. Hopefully this is the answer. Thank you. Appreciate your sharing.

    Thank you for this video! It’s so true that alcohol is only temporary. It’s very frustrating! I have over 200 succulents and I don’t have time to spray every few days with alcohol. I’ve tried Acetamiprid. It’s in Ortho Flower Fruit and Vegetable spray that I used . It made the leaves of my plants shrivel . But it killed the mealybugs and eggs . And mine are indoors . If I can get them all killed , maybe they’ll stay away. I’ve used Bifenthrin ( same ingredients as your Bifen IT ). It was more gentle on the plants . I will try the Bifen IT and Tekko Pro . I appreciate you and your husband taking the time to make this . I’m so glad this works for you . I love your accent! So relaxing to hear you talk .

    Thank you Emannn I've been fighting mealybugs also. on my African violets, hoyas, jade plants, so far...but I have many more varieties of plants, & I'm sure given time they'll spread there too. I'm so glad to find your recipie. Was it hard on your violets? I've been hard on mine, using an insecticidal soap, with adding insecticide medicine powder in the soil, So removing most of the soil, & replacing with this new medicated soil. It's working, but I know I'll have to keep spraying the soap on weekly for 4 weeks. I'm also dumping alot of my plants. too much work for one old woman to keep up on. Before I got the bugs, I'd invested in alot more fancier violets. Mostly leaves. very worried.

    Do you mix the bifen and tekken together, do you mix an ounce of each to the same water? Or do you do seperate applications?

      Just use an acrylic yarn, you know, the kind you would use for knitting/crocheting. It’s so durable and lasts a very long time than cotton or other natural fibers.

    I have a phalaenopsis orchid when I got it ..it had two spikes and there had been one that was cut. The one that was cut has something growing on it and one of the other spikes also has something growing on it but my problem is that the leaves are slappy not strong and I'm not sure what to do what is your recommendation do I need to cut down all the spikes?

    • @EmaansGarden
      @EmaansGarden  3 роки тому +2

      Hi, if you have something growing in your spikes don’t cut them. They might be babies . Not strong leaves is a sign of root rot . If you can see the roots through the plastic pot and they are still healthy it means you don’t have root rot-your orchid is dehydrated. Do you feed your orchids? And how? Sometimes when the orchid is stressed it starts growing babies. I never cut the spikes if they are green. If they die naturally I cut them. I recommend you to leave them. Some people say that spikes take energy from the orchids. I don’t think so.
