In the early days the people in Lille spoke Dutch (Dutch name: Rijsel). The food for dinner looked really Flemish (Dutch speaking part from Belgium). So you experienced the border between de French and Dutch/Flemish culture. So Nice!
Guys, it's cool you came to Lille but apparently you've just been walking in circles... Lille is actually one of the top 3 metro areas in France and has a lot of great places like cool areas, bars and restaurants and top notch museums to see inside and outside city proper.
This seems to be a very interesting place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!

I'm catching up on your videos now that I discovered you two, and I can't believe you went to Lille! No UA-camrs ever go to Lille! I visit my cousin there every time I'm in Europe, and I agree it's a pretty city. Their food is really fantastic, especially meat stewed in their beer - YUMMY! Did you eat Liège waffles? They’re the best! 🤤

(It took a year for the US government to bring all the soldiers back from overseas so they asked for volunteers to wait, and my uncle was single & he was in Paris, so it was a no-brainer! And he fell in love and got married during that year.) So I have French cousins living in Paris and Lille. I'm very lucky!

Yup, population of the metropolitan area is 1.2 million, city proper has about 240k people. That's no little town :D
