This is what I had to do to fight off salmonella and coccidiosis and whatever else that my pigeons contracted from the rescue pigeon. Some of you would disagree, but hey. It’s my loft it’s what I do and what works for me every time when it comes to battling diseases and bacteria. Please careful in your own loft if you use this method, as this method although highly effective is also a fire safety hazard to a certain degree. Make sure you have plenty of time to manage your loft correctly if you are using this method. Yes, in our videos back then, we utilized the blow torch to rid of wet droppings, that’s what we do from time to time as well, to remove dust, spiders webs, fleas in the crevices, etc.
This is to help cure birds from sicknesses, I never had to use this method during racing season as by that time I usually have the birds in tip top shape. It is rather dusty So I would think there are differences in opinions, but the birds loft fly just fine after this, so Idk to each his own, gotta try to know.

Great work keeping your pigeons healthy. I have seen guys go in when the birds are out with a blow torch as well.

Great idea. Keeps loft dry and takes away odor. Charcoal is good for pigeons . Thank you for sharing.
