In the situation that Linus is showing here, its completely impractical for 95% of users. Sure it works well, but who wants to sit next to a machine that sounds like a 747 taking off? Then again, its Linus, what hasn't he done thats impractical for most people.
And aren't that much louder, but of course can't lift an object as heavy a a PC. The point of this fan is to be small and still generate a lot of airflow- it cannot benefit from a large, optimally shaped propeller, because it has to fit in a server case, so it has to make up for it with speed. And pedestal or desk fans can have the same power and cause more airflow and less noise due to large, slow propeller. The blowie also has to be able to maintain a pressure difference, as the air has to go through heatsinks and possibly other components and dust, which obstruct the air flow, whereas neither a standing fan nor a quadcopter rotor has to do that as it operates in open air.
@@HaydenX this fan uses less than 5 amps, a good quality racing drone could use over 120 amps at 14.8 volts, as each motor is drawing over 30 amps, and plus all the other devices and inefficiencies of the motor drivers, etc.
I think dremels go past 30,000 rpm. Making a fan strong enough to hold itself together at that speed is likely the bigger challenge. The slow mo guys span a CD so fast it sent shards everywhere. I’d be scared to be near a fan even at 11,000 rpm

I have 3 of these, attached on 3x92mm radiator. Idle around 6-10% these are quite quiet. But when i need the performance, oh boy.. I paid 72 euros combined for the bloweymatrons, that makes 24 euros per bloweymatron.
I remember when a friend of mine had a bunch of these in his computer. This was back in 2002. He was cooling just a Athlon ( can't remember the cpu) and a Geforce 4200ti that we OC. I remember that it was a better purchase and OC'd to 4600 levels or something like that. Geez, so long ago.
I think I've seen a video where the fan actually hovers itself, and flipped. The air movement of that fan is astounding. I put a less powered 120mm delta fans as one of my casing's intake. Less powered, only 0.6A (compared to this beast), powered by the fan header. When set to run at 100%, it shaved 3 degrees C off my gpu's diode, compared to when it's set to 40% (idle use, barely audible)
You've never felt or heard a high CFM fan until you've owned or worked on a Dell Optiplex GX280... Those damn things are turbine engines - without the combustion..

Didn't we all agree to only buy rgb products?
But rgb products go very well with a nice little fan
Yay! an awesome video from linustechtips on my birthday!!
happy birthday.
I have 3 of these, attached on 3x92mm radiator. Idle around 6-10% these are quite quiet. But when i need the performance, oh boy..
I paid 72 euros combined for the bloweymatrons, that makes 24 euros per bloweymatron.
Love the shirt though.. "I void warranties" :-D lol
The CPU will overheat when the HSF gets ripped off the motherboard.

Also aren't these the fans that someone modded to fit into a model plane. lol....these are probably it.
I wouldnt put my banana into that blowie
slap a jet engine to a CPU and see if it still works!
no, it would just propel said cpu into the nearest wall
Uuummmmmm.... that would..... uuuummmm..... I don't even know where to start
Fire extinguisher cooling system?
Thx for the banana for scale

Perfect for flight simulator
Writing velocity as V instead of v. This hurts my inner engineer.
"Delta T change" hurts, too
Why does Delta T hurt? Yes, it should've been Change in T, or Delta T. I suppose your objection is that what he said was Delta squared T.
my objection is that its redundant and unnecessary. You wouldn't say "the change in temperature change."
Delta means change so they're basically saying change in temperature change.
yes you would if you're taking deltaT's derivative :P
I think I've seen a video where the fan actually hovers itself, and flipped. The air movement of that fan is astounding.
I put a less powered 120mm delta fans as one of my casing's intake. Less powered, only 0.6A (compared to this beast), powered by the fan header. When set to run at 100%, it shaved 3 degrees C off my gpu's diode, compared to when it's set to 40% (idle use, barely audible)
This episode is......fan-tastic.
You've never felt or heard a high CFM fan until you've owned or worked on a Dell Optiplex GX280... Those damn things are turbine engines - without the combustion..
npsit1 even the cfm leap could be quieter
tru dat

Paper concidering the price of some As Seen on TV gadgets $55 for a carrot grater doesn't sound that crazy.
