Let's be real though, the Pirates movies were getting stale even with Jack Sparrow in them after the first few films. Not like they're gonna suddenly start profiting without Johnny Depp attached.

It's not going to be a female Pirates of the Caribbean movie. It's going to be a female lead pirate movie riding on the coat-tails of another successful male lead franchise.
Apparently, Disney didn't learn from their mistake with On Stranger Tides where they made a mess of Blackbeard.
They also made a wreck of Jack's story in Dead Men Tell No Tales.

As much as I enjoy Jack Sparrow, not sure I'm interested in another Pirates movie with or without him. The Pirates adventure feels abundantly complete. Depp is a legend.

Sounds like this is the sequel to Ghostbusters 2016.
The fact this movie will flop has nothing to do with the girl being black or being a woman, if they brought Johnny Depp back the movie MIGHT make some money merely on nostalgia and people wanting to rub it on Amber Heards face. HOWEVER Pirates of the Caribbean was already a tired franchise and lost after the third movie. The trilogy was a masterpiece, after that they turned Jack Sparrow into a luck dumb character, different from previous movies in which you got the distinction that he was playing stupid but thinking 3 - 4 steps ahead.
We need jay to take over and direct the movie 👀🏴☠️

I've been to Disney World 3 times and my fav part is riding Thunder Mountain Railroad NONSTOP as all the sheeple watch that gay light parade. lol I do love the Pirates ride though. Any all-female anything is a clown show. My cousin works with Disney somehow, he does something with setting up vacas with big time perks for families, and he goes like 3 times a year. He loves it.

Okay but, the movie is based on the ride. When the movie - WITH JOHNNY DEPP - became such a huge success Disney fixed the ride to look exactly like the movie - WITH JOHNNY DEPP!!! And what about when they removed Big Red from the ride because of some idiotic reason, but now they're going to add a famous redhead pirate? What?
They could've made a TV series about Calypso or Anna Maria. Zoe Saldana has said many times she'd love to come back to the Pirates franchise.

I think this is just to make us wish they had gone with Margot Robbie. But we do want this. The harder they burn the faster someone else will get the IP and do something useful with it after Disney has their fire sale.

If you want a good pirate experience watch Black Sails which is absolutely the best pirate series or movie ever made. Also this 6th POTC movie will be a disaster.
