Great video! We just got a Goldendoodle and I appreciate having realistic expectations about what is in store. Question - what kind of floors do you have? Do they hold up well with your dogs? I’m looking to replace my flooring and want something dog friendly.
Get stick down planks, if the dogs ruin a few planks, you can easily just remove damaged planks and replace with the extras you bought to begin with. Tongue and grove or snap together won’t allow you to do this
I have a goldendoodle and I wouldn't want any other dog! He's super smart and super easy to train!! Mine is active but likes sleeping more. I recommend goldendoodles. Smart, kind, playful, funny, sometimes stubborn, very very protective over me. Definitely the best dog I've had in my whole life.(mine also knows over 26 tricks)
That’s great!!! I love that you are doing such great things with your dog!!!!!!! I TOTALLY recommend golden and labradoodles to anybody that can give like 1-1.5 hours of daily exercise and that has the time for one. They are awesome! My dog knows: Sit Down Sit pretty Jump Jump through my arms Jump over my leg Jump over/on top of things Leg weaves Speak Salute Shake Wave Hello Army crawl Fist bump Place Heel Heel between legs Jump through a hoop Say your prayers Two paws up Wait She is learning: Take a bow Put paws on an object (not my arm) and say her prayers Weave through weaving poles
@@Olive-cp4nu so cool!! Here are my dogs tricks- Sit Lay Shake Left paw Right paw Circle right Circle left Fist bump with his nose Bow Speak Count numbers Play dead Stay Up 1. 2. 3. GO (racing) Hide and seek Tag your it Side (lay sideways) Kiss Hug Jump Circle around me (Theres left and right) Walk Trot Canter (yes I'm obsessed with horses and taught him horse commands) Scratch (at the door to get in or go out) Both paws (since he's 60 pounds and can't do a begging position I say both paws and he puts both of his paws in my hand) Leg (when he's laying on his side I say leg and he'll raise it so I can scratch his stomach) Halt Weave through poles Follow And he can follow my hand to go over agility jumps He's so spoiled like for his birthday he gets presents, the house decorated,a cake xD let's just say that I love my dog WAAYYY too much xD
@@Olive-cp4nu and we are just doing exercises inside because it's 110 outside and I don't want him to have a heat stroke or something and also the concrete is boiling hot! It's ridiculous! But we play fetch for a long time and do indoor agility. More like me saying stay walking 10 feet bend down with my arm out and say go! So he can jump it.... xD
Our goldendoodle passed almost 2 yrs ago and not a day goes by that I don't think about him and miss him. He was almost human; slept with us; always showed us how much he loved us; was extremely smart; was always a joy to be around; etc. I can't say enough good things about him. I wouldn't change anything about our time with him. He was the best, sweetest, most exceptional dog we've ever had. I will always love him dearly and he will always have a special place in my heart.
Adopting from a breeder is not a sin! If you get a dog from a dedicated, dog loving breeder that does not mean you are doing something bad. If you can rescue, you should. But if you or someone close to you has a dog allergy, it is safer to get a dog from a breeder. If we didn’t have breeders so many people would not be able to get dogs. You should never make people feel ashamed of adopting from a breeder. If you pay money for the dog, you buy it. If you bring a dog into your family legally, you adopt it. Rescue is great, but it isn’t a sin to get your dog from a breeder. I think this is important to say. I love your vids and I am not on a opposing side, I just don’t want people that got their dogs from breeders to feel bad.
I think the point of the video was to steer ppl away from getting a doodle bc they are becoming so popular and now people are overbreeding and not doing research when buying so lots may end up in shelters in years to come you can’t blame her is not all the doodle facts are on point she doesn’t own all the dogs in the world but I understand we’re y’all are coming from 😁
I have a goldendoodle and she is so loving and friendly to everyone I can have full on conversations with her and she understands every word I say sometimes I think she's human what a great family dog
We have a 16 week old Golden Retriever. I am also very introverted. However, with our Harlow being so outgoing and extroverted towards people she is actually a comfort for me to be around people who are paying attention to her. My ultimate goal is to train her to be a therapy dog for the elderly in a couple years. If you know anything about that, I would love a video. Peace
i feel like this video put a downer on golden doodles ! i have one and he is literally the opposite what you are explaining! he is very very very relaxed and doesn't even like going outside. yes the fur is sometimes hard to manage but if you keep on-top of it it isn't a problem (like most dogs). they are very very smart dogs and easy to train, great around kids and can even be around people who are allergic to dogs ! my brother is allergic to dogs and hasn't found a problem with our boy who is now 10 years old. these are some of the many reasons why golden doodles are becoming assistant dogs and are visiting hospitals etc because they are calm and relaxed! maybe rather than saying "these are all the reasons YOU DO NOT WANT a golden-doodle" you could rephrase it to, things i wish i knew about my golden doodle before i got them or challenges of having a golden-doodle. i feel this would completely change the vibe of this video rather than saying stuff like "have i put you off having a golden-doodle yet" is the aim of the video to put people off this breed?? or to enlighten potential buyers of the challenges they may or may not face? x
I feel like my golden doodle is super chill and he just gets the zoonoses throughout the day :) it’s so cute! And I love that my dog is a Velcro dog!! They’re my new favorite breed I probably won’t get another lol
Ehh I feel like ur golden doodle is an exception usually most golden doodles are energetic mine is. And so are others I have met. Anyways she is just listing reasons why people may or may not want a golden doodle. Like there are families who don’t want such an energetic dog
Tanner was a standard doodle from a very reputable breeder...he was 13 when he passed. We just got a new puppy "Grizz" who is 9 weeks old. Zero Shedding!!! Love this breed!!! Potty training is going excellent and using Cezar's Way for training regarding jumping, biting, and leash!
@@mayagraham6546 mine had hip dysplasia and lymphoma. After surgery for his hip he was still pretty active though not as much as our other doodle. We had to put him down July 3rd due his lymphoma, he was 9. However, he was the sweetest dog and loved everyone. Our other doodle doesn't have any medical problems and is 75 poodle while the other one was 50 50. I love golden doodles though because of how sweet natured they are. He was very intelligent too and had a wide range of noises he made to communicate with us.
Excellent excellent video! There are sooo many people in the world who have animals... THAT DO NOT DESERVE TO HAVE THEM! Also a lot of people who think they’re a great owner, when they’re awful. People who live in tiny apartments that do not take their dogs out to play, to the dog park, who leave them in the house all day, can’t afford the vet, would rather party than come home and let their animals out, the list goes on. I personally love alone time, I wouldn’t want a dog in my face all the time. That’s just me, so I’m glad you posted this video. I want a dog who chills and doesn’t follow me all the time and does his own thing as well. I was thinking about getting a doodle, but I think I’ll take a look at another breed that’s less energetic and more chill. Thanks for sharing!
[1:27] Velcro dog [2:22] Lots of grooming required [4:03] Things get caught in curly hair [4:48] Hyperactive -> Training needed [5:51] Everyone wants to pet doodle -> be careful introverts [6:43] Disease prone
This woman needs to do some research on goldendoodles. You cannot tell if this is a pro or con video. No 1. Must well bred F1 goldendoodles do not have more diseases. They actual have some hybrid vigor that helps them from having diseases from the parent lines. No 2. I have a curly goldendoodle who only needs brushing once a week or so. He has a long beautiful tail that I keep very long and we go into woods and bushes all the time and if he gets byes I just put him in the bath rub conditioner on him and gently curl him out. My friends who have curlier doodle do get them groomed about every 6 weeks which can be expensive. I do my own grooming about every 2 months with a cut. It dies take some time and patience but really not that difficult. I also have a wavy hair F 1 goldendoodle that is very easy to brush and groom. Obviously she adopted a dog with poodle type hair. Not all goldendoodles have this type of hair. Depending on the breeding and generation. She may have a F1b which is a F1 bred back to a poodle and some of them have curly hair like the poodle. People have had poodles fir generations so most know what they are getting into when they get the goldendoodle. Everyone should do research before purchasing any type of dog. She did not mention that the pros are they usually do not shed or shed less then their golden parent. They are devoted loving family dogs. My digs do not have to be by my side every minute. They will play with themself for hours or take a nap when I am working. I just hate it the this woman misrepresents goldendoodles and all the wonderful qualities you get out of raising these wonderful animals. The only other thing I would say is get an F1 or F1b if you are purchasing a goldendoodle. And please adopt an older goldendoodle. They are wonderful companions. She adopted a goldendoodle that she probably know nothing about their breeding or what they have gone through that may have made him more clingy.
I work in vetmed, and I feel like this is usually are number one thing that we have to tell owners. Bring your doodle to the groomers, it's awful the amount of matting that I usually see in the clinic.
@@KM2558-o1y Thank you. My thought are with you. I try to fill the void with gratefulness that he was with us for 11 years. He brought us much joy and comfort in difficult times. I wish you well in your grieving.
We have a springer doodle or Sproodle. She is amazing; she is so cuddly, loving and smart. She's very protective of us. And she is a velcro dog who needs a lot of physical and mental stimulation. Pupper-dog knows tons of dog tricks and is loving agility classes. I love, love, LOVE my Dood!!
MY labradoodle was chill and really only needed a 30 min walk a day. Uber calm and didn’t become clingy until she got to be an elderly fur girl (probably because of loss of eyesight).
I had a VA Registered Service Dog Damian. He was a long haired Rottweiler.. He trained super easy. After he passes. My wife and Mother got me a Golden Doodle puppy to train as my next Service Dog. He is awesome. Learning quickly. I sure hope We made the right choice in breed.
Thank you! I think a lot of people (not all) get doodle dogs because they're so cute in pictures they see, but don't realize what they will actually require. So to the people who have doodle dogs, and it's working out for you...great! But this is for the people who are considering them just because of how adorable and unique they look, then once they get one, they end up putting them in a shelter later on.
Literally, all the dogs in my neighborhood are doddles. And when they play with each other in my neighbor's yard, It is literally six doddles, and then theirs my black mute.
@@willypuma6149 yup there good with kids saw a few youtuber that has a Goldendoodle with kids n more on instagram plus go for a good breeder that has a family with kids to socialize them with kids
Thanks for sharing this! I did a similar video about my Aussiedoodle because I also did not know lots of these things before getting my own. There are a lot of things that people should know and consider before they get any kind of doodle, like their high energy and velcro-behavior that certainly isn't the right fit for everyone. I love my doodle more than anything but he's not for everyone and especially not first-time dog owners, in my opinion. I think that it's great that you did this video and am sad to see so much negativity in the comments. She's not saying that you shouldn't get a doodle. She's telling you all the things to consider before getting one...
I am a super proud mama of 2 Golden doodles; They are lots of work, but the love they give is unbelievable. They are also so funny and smart. I love that they want to b with me and my husband always; they are are babies ♥️♥️
Iris Rose hey ! How long would it be on it’s own at a time ? Because everyone in my house also has full time jobs and my boy is usually home by himself for a maximum of 6 hours at a time. He always does good. Unfortunately in the beginning stages when they’re little it’s more difficult because they need potty breaks and stuff and you don’t want to keep your pup in the crate for 6 hours straight. I stopped crating my boy at 6 months because it was causing him a lot of distress. He was trying to hurt himself in there and does much better being free. Mine did have some separation anxiety in the beginning. But quickly learned that I always come back and he’s really good now. I recommend maybe getting one of those anti chew sprays to spray on those baseboards lol, my boy shredded mine 😅 give him lots to do while you’re gone! Lots of toys and maybe something to chew on ?
Im glad you brush your dogs every day, i work as a dog groomers and get ton of doodles and some people never brush their dog so we end up having to shave them cuz it hurts them to much if you try to get all the knots and just pulls their skin
my golden doodle was A M A Z I N G. she was super sweet and, if you start early, training is easy. That’s true for most dogs. My dog LOVED attention, but i feel like if you have a dog you should be ready to give it the amount of attention it deserves and a great life. I’m getting another one in spring 2020 :) edit: instead of getting one in spring my mom surprised me with one the other day aha. she’s a black golden doodle puppy and her name is Bailey. she’s rambunctious and nips a little but she’s adorable when she’s calm and i’m so excited about her!
We have a labradoodle and she is the most calm dog. She is super cuddly and I love that about her. She follows us, but has such a personality. She can have energy when we play, but she is usually really calm.
Well, I guess it’s a good thing I just NOW saw your video. This minute there is no doodle dog in my home, (no pets at all). But, day before yesterday I signed a contract and paid in full for an Aussiedoodle puppy. I’ll bring him home in just a few days. Actually though, I knew pros/cons in the process of making the decision. So, he isn’t a rescue dog, he does already exist in this world and he needs me to love and care for him. And I need to love and care for him. My choice was an educated decision for this specific moment in my life (active senior citizen). Thank you for your helpful videos ❣️🐶🌈
I have had many dogs and while they have each been uniquely special in my life, I cannot imagine my life without my Goldendoodle, Kyra. She is, by far, the smartest and easiest to train, obedient and loving dog out all others. Grooming is super easy, due to her curls being more fleece like than the tighter curl of your handsome boy. I do agree with you on a few points though. Everyone loves to pet them, they like to be active, and they stick to you like velcro. However, these are the things that I like the most about my Kyra.
I have a Golden Doodle that I refer to as my Angel dog, Jaxsen. I've never had such a good dog. He loves to run especially along the ocean playing in the waves. I had trained a Malshi that Jax loved and as she did her tricks he learned just by watching. The most awesome thing about Jax is his empathy toward other pets and us...I had never witnessed such thoughtfulness in a dog as he displays on a daily basis. People love him when they meet him and want to know where I got him. He is truly a blessing. We also had a Labradoodle years ago when we lived by an elementary school. Rigby our Labradoodle loved kids so much she would escape the yard to play with the kids at lunchtime. She got to be well known and loved by kids and teachers alike. Not fair to judge a breed by one dog....Jax my Angel dog agrees...best dog ever!
I can agree with all the pros and cons! Going along with one of the first cons, a lot (including mine) can have severe isolation distress and some even separation anxiety!
Rachel I own a Laadoodle, i love your shows, everything you say about them is so true, Mine is a lil hyper I would love for him to calm down like your Finn, Thank you and love your shows
So glad you did this video! I put up the exact same video on my channel but took it down due to a lot of negativity but the message needs to get out there to potential owners. As a groomer I was heartbroken to see how many owners didn't have the time to look after the coat so the dogs were uncomfortable, in pain, and full of mats, not to mention bored! x
Thank you! I wanted to make this video bc I volunteer one dog rescues a lot, and the growing number of doodles is mind blowing People buy them bc they’re cute and fluffy, but don’t want to maintain their coat or exercise them properly. Honestly, of all the breeds I’ve worked with, doods are probably my fav or at least top 2! STELLAR dogs, I couldn’t imagine life with my dood. But they often (not always) require a few extra maitenance tips not needed by other dogs Again thanks for the support! Awareness is key!
Well, it's a good thing you took it down. If you aren't smart enough to understand that these issues aren't with the dogs, but with their stupid, lazy, uninformed owners, then you shouldn't be putting up the video in the first place. You're doing a disservice to an amazing animal by shoving the stupidity of the owners onto the pets. If you want to help the dogs, educate the idiots that would watch your videos. They are the source of both the problem and the solution. The dogs are just being dogs.
@@georgianbents That's exactly what my video said, that the dogs need the right owner that is prepared to take care of their coat and manage their energy levels and the reason I did the video was my heartbreak & anger at seeing so many matted dogs in my grooming salon due to the owners having no time to brush them. Sadly people don't generally blame themselves but just as you have misjudged, think somehow I'm stating the issue is with the dog when actually I totally agree, the dog is just being a dog. You are preaching to the converted and ranting at the wrong people.
Your absolutely right on. I don't own one but I had the opportunity to look after a shitzhu Maltese poodle pup for 6 & a half months. Omgoodness. I couldn't believe how energetic it was, it's coat was covered easily with dirt, etc and yes, they do have a sensitive stomach. 👍
Wow! Just watched your video! Unfortunately my grand daughters convinced me it was time to adopt another baby, since I lost my 2 mini-schnauzers (17 yrs old) last winter. Went to local shelter & there was this little black bundle of love! They said he was a Labradoodle. He’s 7 months old, I’ve had him for 1 & 1/2 months. You described him to a T! Omg, he has these outbursts I’ve never seen by a dog, where he runs all through the house, out to the yard, around the entire yard, back through the house jumping on every couch & chair, about 10 times! Then he lays down & rests! He slows down for NOTHING! He does this once in the day & then right before bed. We walk about 45 minutes a day. It’s like someone hit him up with meth or something! If I catch him eating a plant, carrying in a rock or stick or whatever & try to gently tell him no, he starts jumping & biting at my hands & shirt, etc. If I turn my back on him he begins to cry & will definitely do something he knows he shouldn’t do! Every time I tell him he can’t get on my lap, he climbs on top of my head! I reinforce his good behavior with a treat every time. But I’m loosing my mind! Help! We do have training classes scheduled starting next week!
I know people talk about feeding dogs irresponsibly with poor quality food. What about irresponsible breeding (breeding every possible breed to a Standard Poodle)? It's awful.
I’m getting a mini doodle soon, yes I’m prepared for them being hyper because most of my friends have them haha. What do you recommend to keep their fur healthy in order to maintain them happy? I’m so happy you’re spreading the message of adoption, though there haven’t been many doodles here so we got my pup from a sweet breeder (yes we visited their home to make sure it’s a good environment) and I would also love to learn from your side the best ways to help out my shelter!
Sofia, thank you so much for your positivity. We need more people like you in the world! Here is a video about grooming, let me know if it helps. And congrats! ua-cam.com/video/vUw0YkgLji0/v-deo.html
Honestly loved this video. I am currently looking to get a dog and have been looking to find the perfect breed for the past half year. I love watching videos of why not to get the breed, because you get a healthy reality check. It is so easy to fall in love, but making a slow and well considered decision about adopting a dog is super important. Thank you
I think that the Velcro reason is a pro. Because I’ve always wanted a dog that would follow me everywhere. And cuddly me and always want to be next to me. I never had a dog like that. I also don’t mind grooming them. I wanna make my own styles.
Same with me I recently lost my 12 in half year old golden doodle about a month ago. We got a new one and she will be ready in 3 weeks we are so excited.
I wouldn't change my doodle for the world! I love him he's actually my SD, so seeing this video I was a bit confused untill I saw the whole thing. I love how the dog is so loveable, and they can be easy to train at times. Thanks for posting this video it did need to be said to the people who don't/haven't owned a doodle of any kind. ❤
Same, couldn’t live without my dood And thank YOU for sharing this comment. Sadly, this video wasn’t understood by some people and that hurts my heart. My intentions were to highlight how amazing they are, and that they require work Thanks for being here. And supporting me. Means everything
They are the best, best dogs ever.Cute, loving, amazing companions. I miss my loving boy Tobby, that is the only downside, once you have them in your life it's hard to live without them.Love you forever TOBBY!
There is one word to describe our Doodle-dawg--goofy. We chose a Goldendoodle for the intelligence to support our grandsons with Autism. He has been easy to train, quick and attentive to the boys, and a wonderful way for them to learn social skills and community safety. Doodles aren't for everyone. Do your research and make sure that a Doodle is the best fit for your family.
Kerry Thurlow you are spot on, goofy!! My dood, Fin, makes me laugh every single day. It’s one thing I love so much about him! They’re smart, loving, loyal.... I couldn’t imagine my life without my dood!
Doodles are a mutt and their behavior and genetics is a coin flip. There are so many articles on this breed I can't even count them all. Poodles are a high energy intelligent working breed who is often mixed with another working breeds and is passed off as a calm family dog. Which is absolutely hilarious. Some Doodles are hypo but again it's a coin flip for even dogs in the same litter. Golden doodles are one of the worst for matting as when they shed it gets caught up in the Poodles hair. Doodles are horrible just get a Poodle or a Water Dog, they look azactly like Doodles in every way but they come from reputable breeders not backyard designer breeders. Reputable breeds actually do health test so they're only breeding the most healthy of their dogs and they can assure you the dogs have an even predictable temperament. *Doodles aren't healthier* dogs and they can often be less healthy and prone to more issues as you're just combining two breeds health issues into one dog from an unreputible breeder. *Doodles aren't always non shed* which makes it absolutely horrible to groom em as their shed gets matted in with their poodle coat. And for you allergy suffers. *Doodles aren't more friendly* than an poodle. Doodles are a mutt which makes their temperament and energy level a coin flip.
I think that the most important thing to consider when adopting a dog is Time. I inherited my doodle, Cal, from my son. Calvin was so bored. His chewing was out of control even resulting in property damage. I never had a problem with Calvin chewing anything except his assigned toys. Not a single sock or even underwear. I am disabled and not active. Calvin was content to lounge near me with only short walks and some off leash times with other dogs on occasion. Goldendoodles make great companions. I would say that time and grooming costs would be the biggest concerns.
Nida, thank you for sharing your experience! I really couldn't imagine my life without my goldendoodle. He makes me laugh every day, keeps me active, and shows me the meaning of gratitude. Wonderful amazing dogs!
I have a Labradoode. He is crazy, he is hyperactive, he is untrainable... and HE IS AWESOME!!!! So much personality and everyone loves him :) Life is never boring!
As a groomer I appreciate your honestly about the coat care of the goldendoodle! Labradoodle aussiedoodles daneadoodles springadoodles,ect.. coats are ALL different. Groomers need owner's to understand their dogs needs.
Beth Cunningham thank you for sharing!! I sort of missed the ball when editing this video. My intention was to show that while my dood can be challenging (like any dog can be), I wouldn’t change anything. He’s my world! ❤️❤️ Grooming is tough, and I was even prepared! Ha
@@RachelFusaro it's been my experience that too many folks don't understand the challenges. Which means they get very frustrated with us groomers, we are not magicians. Groomers love all dogs, most of us wanted too many of our own, one reason for becoming a groomer. We love/ live to transform the look of people's pets. Yet one of our most difficult tasks is dealing with the uninformed. No one really loves to "shave" the doodle down to the skin! Nor do we really want to have to charge over a hundred dollars to groom the doodle. Reality is information is key: Love the doodle: love the cost: love the work, and please be informed before you get there.
I just watched Wallace's premiere. And I had to watch this video again. I watched this video almost 2 years ago while we were in the search for our doc and we have the same problem that your mom had there were no rescue dogs for us some wanted us to already have a dog (well that didn't work We didn't have one .... that didn't seem really helpful in starting a dog family). After dozens of applications and miles and bizarre and strange rules I finally put my foot down inside we were going to find a new user. I have a child with ADHD And I needed a velcro dog. So I watched this video and pretty much found myself laughing all the way through because all of the reasons that most people might not want a doodle were exactly the reasons that I did. Our puppy Haruki is now a year and 2 months old He is 50 lb 22 inches at the shoulder so he's a bit large for the breed but we love him so much!!! Thank you for all the advice along the way. The reluctant but persistently competent dog mom.
I love my miniature labradoodle he is the best thing ever. Your definitely right about them always wanting to be in your space 😂makes for lots of cuddles
I was hoping she as sarcastic but I had my doubts when she spoke about cancer. You can’t generalize any dog/breed. My Doodle is highly trained and trainable, adjustable and a pure joy. I had multiple breeds/dogs in the past. But he is my ultimate boy!!!!
I bet you guys weren't expecting this video!!! Comment below the WORST trait of your dog (and why it's really the best thing about him or her) 😉😘 xoxo my loves!! Be sure to share this video with one friend, so we can help #SAVEALLTHEDAMNDOGS
The worst trait my dog has is that he always gets really excited and thinks he’s going on a walk every time the door opens or whenever I put on my shoes 😅 (Hey, at least when I go on walks with him we get a lot of exercise 🤷♀️)
Hey so I've got a goldendoodle and he won't eat his food.At all. I think he'd rather starve himself more then eat any food we feed him. Today he's eaten half a pb and j some cooked veggies and a biscuit all of which he jumped on the counter to get. Idk what to do we tryed like 5 different dog foods and none of which he liked.. he's my bestfriend and I need him to eat. Any suggestions?
I have had 2 goldendoodles and they are definitely attached at your hip. They are the smartest, most affectionate, mild mannered dogs. They are great with kids too.
The worst trait of my Adonis is probably all the BARKING!!!! I'm not sure how to convert that into a good thing but.... his best trait is his friendliness towards strangers, although most are too scared to approach him because of his deep bark
Jeannine Marie thank you for the love. 😍♥️😍 I respect all pet parents, I just want the 🌎 to see that many doods are ending up in shelters/rescues that need homes!
Good tips - most of them are valid for many other active dog breeds, including the Labs. Actually, when i see your Doodle, he totally acts like my previous Labrador :)
When I was writing the tips down ahead of time, I realized, this is pretty much the same for many dog breeds! Was still fun to share. Bc as I said in the video, I wouldn’t have my dood any other way 😍
I have an Apricot standard poodle that I keep in a teddy Bear cut and he's always mistaken for a doodle when we are out. He's from a reputable breeder and his temperment is incredible. He's super smart..friendly..jovial..goofy and is a joy to watch when he does his poodle hop run. Something to think about for people thinking whether to get poodle or doodle.
Mine has been quite trainable because he wants to please so much but yes, the downside is the Velcro status and anxiety that comes from being “separated” from you. I’m talking, I work from home and he’s freely roaming while I’m on a short work call. 🤦🏻♀️
I have a labordoddle we got him at 10 weeks old. He’s about 11 months old. I agree with EVERYTHING that you said in this video. You described my dog Jax completely!! We struggle with him barking a lot and trying to bite play a lot! But I figured that since he’s still a puppy and still your that he will probably grow out of it. Do you think that he will grow out of his barking a lot and his bite playing? Thank you I LOVE your channel so much!!❤️❤️
Adopted a Goldendoodle from my local Humane Society. She was a puppy mill rescue. She is sweet and smart. She does have some of the traits you mentioned. However, so far, so good. No regrets.
I would love any dog. I have a cat and love him soooo much but he lays around and he’s so cute! I would love to have a dog to play with and to cuddle with, so I do not disturb my cat because he is so precious to me!
I love most dogs 🐕 but my favorite is my Yorkie Lola. She’s super smart, funny, energetic and thinks she’s a Rottweiler. She defends us against any perceived threat and of course sleeps between my gf and me, when our schedules coincide. Thank you for sharing this video.
Haha, amazing video! I’m considering on adopting a golden doodle in the future so I’ll be sure to look back on this video (it was quite informative) 😊❤️
I appreciate your video. It actually confirmed I DO want a goldendoodle and I will be sure to commit to grooming her. I knew this was necessary, but you helped solidify more so to be on top of it as an everyday routine. Thank you
I absolutely love all your videos!! This one was a little interesting to watch for me. I have been around several golden and labradoodles they are by far the best ones with kids. Yes they do need alot of excersize but if your a busy outgoing family this really is a perfect dog. We have a labradoodle for out kid as a service dog and she truly is a gift to our family. Also I think dogs come with different personalities and that alone says alot. Also how people train them like any breed. Out labradoodle is the sweetest thing I have ever seen. I have also seen alot of out if control labs due to the lack of the owners not knowing how to train it properly. We were the first ones to pick out of a litter of labradoodles and ours I could tell her personality was very sweet and calm compared to the other ones and that demeanor of hers still holds true. I love that you rescue dogs but sometimes that can backfire on the owner as well as not knowing what your getting.
The fact that they get diseases and cancer just breaks my heart! I was going to get one (If my brother finally agreed) but I don't think I can stand my dog getting sick. 🥺🥺
You have pretty much sold me on getting one. I work during the day. Do they need to be cate trained for potty training? How long can they stay in house before having to be walked? I don't want to get a dog if its not good for them. I may wait til I retire soon.
You should totally do a DNA test on both Finn and Bentley and see what breeds they are! Would be fun to find out! Also my lab I a velcro dog he loves to be touching my feet at all times and I love it 😀
@@JennyP17 search embark on Google for a website where you can see how to order yours online . There are other ones I cant remember the names but embark is a popular one I think.
I also want to add that doodles are NOT hypoallergenic. They are a MIXED breed. Therefore it’s impossible to say what their coat will be like. If you are thinking of getting this dog because of allergies, don’t. It’s not worth the risk. Pick a breed and find a good breeder that can prove the dog’s lineage. Your family member will allergies will thank you. I wish people would adopt doodles. Unfortunately most people go to backyard breeders or pet stores for these “designer dogs” and pay $7,000 for a mutt. There’s no way a mutt should cost more than a pure bred dog with health tested, champion parents.
I am getting my first baby in 5 weeks. A RED F1 standard goldendoodle 😊 so excited to groom her and cuddle with her! I have so many brushes for her! I look forward to sitting and geoomimg her every night before bed!
We're seriously considering getting a mini goldendoodle. Our standard doodle passed almost 2 yrs ago and we want another doodle only smaller in size since we are older. It sounds like that would be a great choice.
Haha I thought the velcro thing was hilarious because literally while I'm laying here in bed watching this, my Goldendoodle is all up over me! So true Rachel!!
BeautyWithTy same with my pup. I swear she has chronic diarrhea every other week. She can’t eat anything but her dog food. So sad I can’t feed her treats :(
My sister in laws young Golden had that problem. Her vet told her it was like a bacteria that she picked up by eating poop as a young pup. She is on a strict diet now,& MUST ONLY eat her Rx diet.
My doodle is the EXACT way. She cannot have anything other than hard dog food and dog treats. Nothing people food, nothing with egg, nothing with chicken, rice, etc. She has an entire diary on what she can and cant have. And when she gets diarrhea, she gets liquid poop every hour.
I have a 4 month old, all black F1B female doodle named Reagan. How did you stop your dude from nipping and biting? Mine just won’t stop. I’ve tried all the recommendations I’ve seen online. I am disabled and probably need professional training, but can’t afford it. She loves to play and swim (my brother has a boat). However, she can be a real jerk sometimes. When I brush her, she bites the brush. Incidentally, I got the Chris Christianson Big G brush which helps, because it takes less time to brush her out. Also, when do you think she should get her first professional grooming? I’m wondering if my groomer is going to dislike her (LOL). Groomer used to breed and show standard poodles.
Great video! We just got a Goldendoodle and I appreciate having realistic expectations about what is in store. Question - what kind of floors do you have? Do they hold up well with your dogs? I’m looking to replace my flooring and want something dog friendly.
We have laminate - and no, they're awful! I prefer "wood look" tile or high quality vinyl
Get stick down planks, if the dogs ruin a few planks, you can easily just remove damaged planks and replace with the extras you bought to begin with. Tongue and grove or snap together won’t allow you to do this
Tile is really great and durable!
Our laminates have done great! Going on 6 years now!
@@RachelFusaro
Im gonna have to agree with Rachel here, ive had the wood like Vinyl and its great!!
26 tricks?!?? OMG!! Great work. You must work with him a ton. Love this! ♥️
@@RachelFusaro Yes I do! My favorite is bow! Your dog's are really cute!!
That’s great!!! I love that you are doing such great things with your dog!!!!!!! I TOTALLY recommend golden and labradoodles to anybody that can give like 1-1.5 hours of daily exercise and that has the time for one. They are awesome!

So sorry for your loss. I'd be heartbroken over the loss of my Jaxsen my doodle dog. Doodles are delights!😊💚
I like how you said these are reasons that you don't want a doodle but then you turn all the cons into lnto pros and make me want on even more.
Almost all of the reasons you mentioned are pros to me🥺😂
Caroline yeah I know what’s with this freaking lady ?!?!
That's the point, the entire video is sarcasm.
I think the point of the video was to steer ppl away from getting a doodle bc they are becoming so popular and now people are overbreeding and not doing research when buying so lots may end up in shelters in years to come you can’t blame her is not all the doodle facts are on point she doesn’t own all the dogs in the world but I understand we’re y’all are coming from 😁
I own a doodle my self soon that will be two 😅
I know hey??!
1:30 “Golden doodles are Velcro dogs.”
My golden doodle when I sit next to her:Ight imma head out.

Yeah and they try and lick them off and get sick.
😂
I have a goldendoodle and she is so loving and friendly to everyone I can have full on conversations with her and she understands every word I say sometimes I think she's human what a great family dog
We have a 16 week old Golden Retriever. I am also very introverted. However, with our Harlow being so outgoing and extroverted towards people she is actually a comfort for me to be around people who are paying attention to her. My ultimate goal is to train her to be a therapy dog for the elderly in a couple years. If you know anything about that, I would love a video. Peace
I still wouldn’t change my doodle for the world! ❤️
same Mayah, same
My doodle make me want coodle with him
i feel like this video put a downer on golden doodles ! i have one and he is literally the opposite what you are explaining! he is very very very relaxed and doesn't even like going outside. yes the fur is sometimes hard to manage but if you keep on-top of it it isn't a problem (like most dogs). they are very very smart dogs and easy to train, great around kids and can even be around people who are allergic to dogs ! my brother is allergic to dogs and hasn't found a problem with our boy who is now 10 years old. these are some of the many reasons why golden doodles are becoming assistant dogs and are visiting hospitals etc because they are calm and relaxed! maybe rather than saying "these are all the reasons YOU DO NOT WANT a golden-doodle" you could rephrase it to, things i wish i knew about my golden doodle before i got them or challenges of having a golden-doodle. i feel this would completely change the vibe of this video rather than saying stuff like "have i put you off having a golden-doodle yet" is the aim of the video to put people off this breed?? or to enlighten potential buyers of the challenges they may or may not face?
WOW...I have had a golden doodle for 13 years... if you want a dog who will love you and be loyal you want a golden doodle!!! Best dog ever!!!!!!!
Miss Marcia wouldn’t trade my dood for the 🌎
Hi! Can you share if your dog had any health issues like she mentioned in the video?
howz shedding
[1:27] Velcro dog

We have a goldendoodle, she has brought so much joy into our lives. She just loves life and her joy of living is contagious.
I’m a groomer and I appreciate that you mentioned to brush them out everyday. Groomers around the world thank you 🙏
hailee larsen haha I commented the same thing! I’m a groomer too!
I work in vetmed, and I feel like this is usually are number one thing that we have to tell owners. Bring your doodle to the groomers, it's awful the amount of matting that I usually see in the clinic.
Always matted... "He/she is not matted!" (Surface brushed only...) smh
Ha ha less work for the groomer.
How much it cost ?
All of these are so spot on, and I pray that my Odie has a healthy happy life without any of those horrible issues
My Lucky doodle died last week. I miss him so much. Best cuddle dog ever. The most friendly dog ever. I recommend.... they are a beautiful mix.

My labradoodle is the opposite of everything you said she’s like a chill human and doesn’t shed at all she’s calm on our walks
MY labradoodle was chill and really only needed a 30 min walk a day. Uber calm and didn’t become clingy until she got to be an elderly fur girl (probably because of loss of eyesight).
I can’t tell if she’s being sarcastic when she says “do not want a doodle” or not
You do want a doodle, they’re good with children, they are good cuddle buddies etc.
Shut up no one asked
Sameer Singh Um I wasn’t answering a question
She’s basically just saying why the breed may or may not be for you so that you don’t end up with a dog you’re unable to properly care for
@@Turbojetttt okay? 😐
I want a goldendoodle BECAUSE they want to be with you always
Couldn’t of said it better myself! I LOVE my dood more than words 😍❤️
Great video. Hello from Texas!
All very true points, they are definitely super high energy. Good for those who have kids.
Literally, all the dogs in my neighborhood are doddles. And when they play with each other in my neighbor's yard, It is literally six doddles, and then theirs my black mute.

I have a Velcro dog but she is a 6 lb Morkie powder puff. She is a wonderful a soft pillowy dog!! L😍😍VE her!
Love this comment my friend! I could never imagine life without my dood!
I am a super proud mama of 2 Golden doodles; They are lots of work, but the love they give is unbelievable. They are also so funny and smart. I love that they want to b with me and my husband always; they are are babies ♥️♥️
I have a Labradoodle ! He’s the best, most amazing boy ! I wouldn’t rather have it any other way! I love my doodle !
Adeaner Ferreira I looooove doodles ♥️♥️
Adeaner Ferreira hey! we are thinking of getting a labradoodle, are they good being on there own for a bit - full time jobs 🙄
Kevin Lipham matting is the worst! Fin’s coat mats so badly so I keep it shorter. Easier for me and cooler for him! Such an amazing dog ❤️
@@RachelFusaro yea, finn is such a good boy, ive been wanting to get a doodle there so cute
my golden doodle was A M A Z I N G. she was super sweet and, if you start early, training is easy. That’s true for most dogs. My dog LOVED attention, but i feel like if you have a dog you should be ready to give it the amount of attention it deserves and a great life. I’m getting another one in spring 2020 :)
edit: instead of getting one in spring my mom surprised me with one the other day aha. she’s a black golden doodle puppy and her name is Bailey. she’s rambunctious and nips a little but she’s adorable when she’s calm and i’m so excited about her!
They are the best doggies companions, they are super smart and so affectionate 😍❤️
What a beautiful name! Exactly my point in this video, every “negative” is actually a positive. I too couldn’t imagine life without my dood
Taryn Michelle yes! Very true. Not all, but some do and it’s important to work with them early on :) Overall they’re stunning dogs!
As a groomer I was heartbroken to see how many owners didn't have the time to look after the coat so the dogs were uncomfortable, in pain, and full of mats, not to mention bored! x
Thank you!
I wanted to make this video bc I volunteer one dog rescues a lot, and the growing number of doodles is mind blowing
People buy them bc they’re cute and fluffy, but don’t want to maintain their coat or exercise them properly.
Honestly, of all the breeds I’ve worked with, doods are probably my fav or at least top 2! STELLAR dogs, I couldn’t imagine life with my dood. But they often (not always) require a few extra maitenance tips not needed by other dogs
Again thanks for the support! Awareness is key!
You are my bark remark of the day (aka comment of the day) on a new video I am launching next week!!!! I just love this comment so much :)
This is true. Important theme!

We just lost our doodle. I would never want a different kind of dog. They are special- do smart, so loving, soooo cute, and do fun.
Same, couldn’t live without my dood
And thank YOU for sharing this comment. Sadly, this video wasn’t understood by some people and that hurts my heart. My intentions were to highlight how amazing they are, and that they require work
Thanks for being here. And supporting me. Means everything
Nice dog I want to go to the mountains with our family’s ram 1500 and my glock 19 for the holidays which is better Belgian or golden doodle
Your cons literally are all the things I want in a dog like their companions right🤔
They are the best, best dogs ever.Cute, loving, amazing companions.
Grooming is tough, and I was even prepared!
Your definitely right about them always wanting to be in your space 😂makes for lots of cuddles
best cuddles!
The Velcro dog part sounds amazing and makes me feel warm and happy ! 🥰
These sound like all pros to me😏👍🏻Love my F1b labradoodle 💙
EXACTLY my point of the video, all of these ARE positives!!!
I was hoping she as sarcastic but I had my doubts when she spoke about cancer. You can’t generalize any dog/breed. My Doodle is highly trained and trainable, adjustable and a pure joy. I had multiple breeds/dogs in the past. But he is my ultimate boy!!!!
Love my baby! She had hip dysplasia when she was younger but has grown out of it and she had a super sensitive stomach too. Such sweet babies!
I have a Golden doodle and It’s hyper but Easy to Train He Gives me space but keeps me Compfy🥺
Me and my sister started watching you about a year ago and now we have a goldendoodle after I showed my mom this video - so in a way thanks!
I bet you guys weren't expecting this video!!! Comment below the WORST trait of your dog (and why it's really the best thing about him or her) 😉😘 xoxo my loves!!
Be sure to share this video with one friend, so we can help #SAVEALLTHEDAMNDOGS
Rachel Fusaro knawing/biting my hand
The worst trait my dog has is that he always gets really excited and thinks he’s going on a walk every time the door opens or whenever I put on my shoes 😅 (Hey, at least when I go on walks with him we get a lot of exercise 🤷♀️)
That’s hard! Have you watched this one yet? I think it’ll help! ua-cam.com/video/QAVy9YaP5nI/v-deo.html
Haha fun is like that too!!!
Taryn Michelle barking is a good way to protect you, that’s definitely a positive!
It depends when and why they are barking😄
Thank you for adopting from a rescue. This video needs to be seen.
Jeannine Marie thank you for the love. 😍♥️😍
I respect all pet parents, I just want the 🌎 to see that many doods are ending up in shelters/rescues that need homes!
jenmontzingo exactly! They’re extremely smart dogs :)
Everything you are saying is the exact reason why I love my Labradoodle
Hyper? Not my 2 I had and present one I own. She’s got great focus! Smart and calm.
Thank you I LOVE your channel so much!!❤️❤️
Aly Williamson thank you so much!! Yes, he should grow out of that. Keep working on it! You got this :)
Thank you so much!!
❤️❤️❤️ we love our labradoodle to the moon and back...🐶
Great info. Just got one. Thanks !
Haha, amazing video! I’m considering on adopting a golden doodle in the future so I’ll be sure to look back on this video (it was quite informative) 😊❤️
I really, really loves doodles 😉
I appreciate your video. It actually confirmed I DO want a goldendoodle and I will be sure to commit to grooming her. I knew this was necessary, but you helped solidify more so to be on top of it as an everyday routine. Thank you
My dog bad trait is pulling out our carpet! He always does it when he eats and it's just awful! Still love him tho🐾
Fin rolls around the floor after eating sometimes. Messes up my rugs! Lol
Love your videos. I will be getting a medium sized one. I’m learning so much. Thank you!
please dont, doodles are backyard bred.
Doodles are the best! Mine is easy going and easy to train!
They are eager to please!!! Love my dood
We are getting a goldendoodle not one but two! You're video is very helpful!
This is just making me wanting to get a golden doodle more
You have pretty much sold me on getting one.
Also my lab I a velcro dog he loves to be touching my feet at all times and I love it 😀
DONE. Love this idea :))
@@RachelFusaro YAY! Can't wait 😆😆😆
@@luciusmaximus1169 Hello. Where do you go to get a DNA test for dogs? Is there a website that you know about?
@@JennyP17 search embark on Google for a website where you can see how to order yours online . There are other ones I cant remember the names but embark is a popular one I think.
Lucius Maximus Embark is the more reliable one that I've heard of from other people who have tried multiple.
There’s no way a mutt should cost more than a pure bred dog with health tested, champion parents.
i have a bernedoodle and she is ADORABLEEE
lexxy omggg send pics!!!
Rachel Fusaro i cant on youtube😭. i would tho!!
I am getting my first baby in 5 weeks. A RED F1 standard goldendoodle 😊 so excited to groom her and cuddle with her! I have so many brushes for her! I look forward to sitting and geoomimg her every night before bed!
I have a mini golden doodle and I love him so much 💕
Mini doods are seriously incredible🐶♥️😍
We're seriously considering getting a mini goldendoodle. Our standard doodle passed almost 2 yrs ago and we want another doodle only smaller in size since we are older. It sounds like that would be a great choice.
How do you keep your house so clean with so many pets?
I do have a mini golden doodle and everything you said is true
Josh Rosa I love mini doods! Every dog is different of course, but doods often have many similarities:))
Haha I thought the velcro thing was hilarious because literally while I'm laying here in bed watching this, my Goldendoodle is all up over me! So true Rachel!!
Caleb Kinneer ha!!! Yes, it’s something I LOVE about Fin. I’m literally never alone 😍🙃
My goldendoodle puppy stomach stayyyyyyy f’d up! Excuse my language but man!
BeautyWithTy ack that’s tough. Do you mean loose 💩 (excuse my TMI 🤣)? Or gurgling? What’s your pup eating?
Probably because you are feeding it pork rinds and the watermelon and sheeeeiiittt
I need to get one they are hypo allergenic and I’m highly allergic to dogs well (24 things)
Do you think they would be a good fit with families?
