We're back with another video where I spent 3 hours making something abominable. But this time it's April Fools :DDD
I guess the only "fools" part of this video is that it's nowhere near top 1, which should have been abundantly clear to anyone with half a brain. But it's still gameplay that feels ripped straight from an extreme demon and that's hard enough for me. But hey, at least it's not a low effort "Quitting UA-cam" shitpost.

9:27 that is a 0-frame click, preserving momentum while changing gravity.
anything that changes gravity has the factor of like .7 on velocity, the dash orb sets momentum at the start of the second frame.
the reason the second dash orb is inconsistent may be because your mouse is double clicking (two clicks at once, the first is usually a 1f or 0f click, the second lasts as long as you want it to, sometimes there´s more clicks at the start), but the click markers are too inaccurate to tell easily.
basically, this code sucks and some guy should rewrite and overoptimize it in... idk, either python or c++.
optimally, that guy would be robtop.
he could fix some little rounding / float issues, the editor, add in some of mhv7´s qol, etc. while he´s at it.

And btw there's some actually useful geode mods that you could use like betteredit which adds some cool features to editor and betterinfo which adds more info like the length of the level

How-D's editing is actually hilarious, also the moment i heard "runtown gag" i cracked up so hard
6:16 if you use both the mouse and spacebar, small timing mistakes cause this when the order is wrong:
1. Clicking with the mouse sends a key down event, activating the first dash orb
2. Clicking with the spacebar sends a key down event, activating the second dash orb and automatically deactivating the first.
3. Releasing the mouse (read: finishing your first "hold") deactivates both dash orbs, causing you to die.
If you hold with the spacebar after releasing the mouse this problem does not occur.

anyway for the geode think, there's a mod called gamemode swapper, allows you to change speed, toggle platformer, change gamemode(no toggle dual/mirror)

Geode isn't even a website where you can download mods, you download Geode and you can download mods literally from in GD itself. And not all mods are cosmetic or stuff that Megahack has, it has a bunch of other ones like Globbed which I would def love to see a How-D video checking out Globbed

I believe Geode also has the BetterInfo mod, which as far as I'm aware, still doesn't work with 2.2

how do you make better gameplay? I feel like whenever I'm making a level I always make garbage.
It helps to find a song that you like, then try to construct gameplay based on the song's energy and how it makes you feel.
i dont have the energy or balls to try it but unrelated i do love the structuring and 1.0 classic style
