  • Thanks for watching my demo and review of the ML Sound Lab Amped Block Letter plugin. This plugin aims to recreate the tones of the Peavey 5150 block letter as well as the USA made Peavey 6505. Let me know your thoughts!

    Just another 5150 plugin or is this one worth getting? What are your thoughts?

    • @misterringer
      @misterringer Рік тому +1

      Both I think. This one definitely does the job well. Some others do too. This one is priced quite well though.
      Hard to beat the Audio Assault 5650+ for the price though ($7.00 USD. about a quarter the price of the ML plugin). That thing has no business being so cheap.

      Honestly really not sure. I have so many 5150s, including block letters. I normally get most everything ML soundlabs puts out, but I am wanting to grab the Ampknob BDH bundle, which gives me more 5150s. I would like to have this, but just so many 5150s.

      There is always room for more 5150 plugins, provided they do something different or better. ML Sound Lab plugins are constantly improving in quality, so in my opinion this is worth grabbing even if you already have some of their other 5150-style offerings. I think people forget sometimes that not all amp sims are created equal.

      @@OldTomato44Yea I bought the blockletter, it's least worth the intro price, idk about full price, least myself. IT sounds great.
      Although I need to get the Ampknob BDH and compare them. The audio assault 5150+ that's in amp locker is amazing and great features, very amazing and sounds like a real one, only like 7 bucks too.
      Their 5150 III VST was updated as well now with amplocker, and it sounds amazing too.

    I think it's about time they add stereo version of the plugin.
    Not only the amp sim but also the effects such as delay, chorus, and the reverbs.

    ML soundlabs is quickly becoming my favorite amp sim company. Sure the plug-ins are pretty stripped back and basic but they all sound just incredible! I mean that like how lets say ndsp gojira sounds super polished. I have a real evh 5150iiis el34 100 watt head and the gojira plugin sounds like a highly processed version of my amp. But the free amped roots sounds nearly identical to my amp when I use the same ir on the sim as my real amp. To be clear I shot ir's off my cab so its fairly easy to make such comparisons. The level of accuracy just blew my mind.

    I understand how to people who already have 5150 plugins and maybe even have multiple, this would seem redundant. But for someone like me who doesn't already have one, this looks solid.
    Two good amps, fair price in a plugin that looks easy to use with tuner and a small pedal board.
    I will probably buy this one because it'll cover my need for this kind of sound and at the moment of writing this it is 50% off.
    But I do imagine that after owning this, I will find any other 5150 plugin unecessary.
    So I guess it's gonna depend on what you already have in your arsenal if this plugin is worth it for you (Or how much you love 5150s).

    the attack and the way the low end blooms out don't really sound like a 5150 to me, but maybe for a lot of people its not important. I think there are so many plugins that have this amp nailed that its a bit of a tough sell for another one.

    • @mlsoundlab
      @mlsoundlab Рік тому +6

      I would actually say the opposite. There are not that many authentic block letter amp sims out there which is the reason I felt this was needed. I'm actually posting a comparison video with the real thing this week to showcase this so stay tuned. 🙂

      @@mlsoundlab I’ll give your plugin a try and compare it to my 5150BL too :) What is the correct input level to use for a 12dBu input? and what load is the amp modelled with? just so I can compare fairly

    • @eds4754
      @eds4754 Рік тому +2

      @@mlsoundlab just trying the new plugin - the plugin doesn't seem to have modelled the full master volume/poweramp behaviour fully. There should be a VERY dramatic shift in the midrange as you increase the MV going from more low end and top end around 1-2, to a thicker midrange around 3-4, to some nasty bloated tones above that. There is a slight difference, but it seems to be more of an approximation than an accurate model. Other emulations have this properly modelled....

    Since you have the most high gain amps. I am wondering if you can get a guitar to sound like my girlfriend eating an ice cream cone. Smooth sweet creamy crunchy and dirty. Kind of like Carlos Santana and not like a chain saw or bee hive. Maybe some high gain neck pickup leads. Thanks

    Why is this company not just giving us licence Keys, so when you reinstall for whatever reason it doesn't work anymore , because they assign REQUEST key also to go with your purchase so you have to email them every time...... wow talk about a bad bad way to go.
