Yup, When I was your Sons age my Father still had to work on the side. One day he’d take my older brother & the next he’d take me. They are some of the fondest memories I have of precious time with my Dad👍 Your son will remember spending time with you.
Proud dad. Yeah. Idk if he was sick or wanted the experience. But he prob learned more today about real work than he will in a semester at school. Plus. If he wasn’t sick, even as a kid, I learned to sweat my sicknesses out and strangely even in today, almost never sick or call off. Like once in 5 years.
I'd build a cover for the storage compartment on the trailer, with a lock, so little curious hands don't help to misplace things. Which I'm sure you have thought of already, though maybe not as much until you need the trailer and notice pieces missing. I'm going to have to go back and watch your custom trailer build again, which I'm sure will be just as impressive as it was the first time I watched it.
Happy Thanksgiving Matthew & Family Time sure flies I started watching the day you started building the saw You had just cleared the spot & was setting the blocks to build it on & laid out the main beams !
Some pretty good camera work by JR while picking up the log 👍 Looking back, I wish I'd have spent more time with my dad when he was working on things around the house or in his shop...good times. Hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving 🦃
You got tp teach them the trades at an early age! J.R. is learning valuable life lessons! That baby seat flashback was so adorable! Happy Thanksgiving to you & your family!
Matt your son looks like a natural around the camera. It was hard to believe he was sick until I heard him cough. I hope he is feeling better. Have a Happy Thanksgiving, I would say watch how many sweets you all consume, but I don't need to say that. Stay well.
Hello Matt. We hope y'all had a wonderful thanksgiving. What do you use for end sealing? back in the day I've heard any paint will do. Is that correct?? Thank you sir for what you do and all the info you share!!
I guessed 65 years and 4800lbs. Way off on the weight but damn close on the age. I guessed 1200lbs for the crotch piece and was under on that one. Loved the video and that you brought your boy along
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. (If "vandalism" is a real concern, i.e., it's not only the kids playing with your stuff, you could always fabricate a lid for the recessed tool shelf that would lock down. An aggravating task perhaps but cheap for the peace of mind.
I have the same vandalism problem with my box trailer. The little 7 year old vandal gets the keys and helps himself to all my tools and I find them randomly everywhere
Your commit about your children losing your hinge pins and other equipment, reminds me of a quote I've heard as a young man. " There are times I could love my children to death and there are other times I wish I had.😂
I guessed 3K for the big one and 1500 for the smaller crotch piece, I think I got lucky to be that close, but I'll be sure and make good use of my bragging rights.
Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃

Some of the best memories a son can have is going to"Work" with his dad. Happy Thanksgiving!
Proud dad. Having him paint kept him busy and I'm sure he felt a part of this logs history. ❤❤❤❤❤
Great memories father and son, Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
Looks like a sick of school day!! hehehehe
Best line goes to JR : This is why art class is important!
Son's 1st time. Now you've hit the big time ❤🎉😊
Love how calm you are with your kids moving your components. Always enjoy watching.
I don't believe you could have finished the job without that young a man helping you. Good job gentlemen! Have a good Thanksgiving.
Father & Son ❤. Happy Thanksgiving!
He does not realize, he has a great dad (and mom)!
May you and your family have a blessed Thanksgiving
Jared is a mighty fine helper.
Vandals, my children, soooooo true with tools. Great kid Matt, happy turkey day to you and yours.
For me it was father daughters, then pa and grandkids. Show them, teach them because you love them. Time is priceless!
Best sick day ever!
The old timer's yard looked pretty similar to your old place! The smile on his face seeing that log dropped on the trailer was awesome too.
Yup, When I was your Sons age my Father still had to work on the side. One day he’d take my older brother & the next he’d take me. They are some of the fondest memories I have of precious time with my Dad👍 Your son will remember spending time with you.
Gosh your son has grown so much !!!
That flashback video brought a tear to my eye, thinking about my own son who’s growing up so fast. Nice work, Matt. And thanks for the art lesson, JR!
Don"t worry you'll find the other hing pin next time you mow
Just wait .. soon your daughter will be driving the "old Telehandler" and sons hooking up the logs ....
Great job Jared. Great job Dad. And Great video

Wow. I remember when you build a bassinet for your kids!
What a team, great video!

Intentionally omitted the cover; if you park a log there, you can’t open it
Never thought of my children as vandals, but they definitely were.😂
Happy Thanksgiving Matthew & Family Time sure flies I started watching the day you started building the saw You had just cleared the spot & was setting the blocks to build it on & laid out the main beams !
Nice job JR.
Love your son there with you! Thank you for sharing 👌 ❤😊
Don’t worry, you’ll find the second hinge pin when you mow the lawn next spring.
Most appropriate comment I have read all year
The future SlabMaster is a nice young man
Best part of the day was going back to Brooklyn Center?! I grew up there and now live in Crystal...so I didn't move that far away. 😄
You did an estimate of 3,000lbs to the homeowner so give yourself a pat on the back Matt....as near as damn it ....👍
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Stay safe.
Nice video. Hope your family had a great thanksgiving 🍗🥧
Happy Thanksgiving Cremona Family ( Next Morning)
Your boy has a great teacher
Better paint those hinge pins Blaze Orange! 🤣
Some pretty good camera work by JR while picking up the log 👍 Looking back, I wish I'd have spent more time with my dad when he was working on things around the house or in his shop...good times. Hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving 🦃
That is a nice ash log
You got tp teach them the trades at an early age! J.R. is learning valuable life lessons! That baby seat flashback was so adorable! Happy Thanksgiving to you & your family!
Your kid is as great as you Matt.
Happy Thanksgiving Matt.
Hi JR, Happy thanksgiving!
If I had a dad who did stuff like this, I would be “sick” at least once per week.
Love your son!!!!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving, Matt to you and your entire family 🎉.
Happy Thanksgiving. Good to get back to the roots.
You can see the emerald ash borer tracks in the crotch log, the ultimate end to that ash tree.
Matt your son looks like a natural around the camera. It was hard to believe he was sick until I heard him cough. I hope he is feeling better. Have a Happy Thanksgiving, I would say watch how many sweets you all consume, but I don't need to say that. Stay well.
Happy Thanksgiving 🦃 Matthew to you and your family.
Nice recovery. Didn't hear what kind of wood that is.
Cheers,
Lee
ASH
Looks like live oak but idk 🤷♂️
HAppy Thanksgiving! Love your work!
Not a bad "sick" day.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving Cremonas!
Hello Matt. We hope y'all had a wonderful thanksgiving. What do you use for end sealing? back in the day I've heard any paint will do. Is that correct??
Thank you sir for what you do and all the info you share!!
I use anchorseal. Works a bit better than paint and dries clear. Thanks!
I guessed 65 years and 4800lbs. Way off on the weight but damn close on the age. I guessed 1200lbs for the crotch piece and was under on that one. Loved the video and that you brought your boy along
Great video 😊
Fit a length of chain between pin and arch- save the mower next time?
I was pretty close I guessed 15 and 3 so I didn't do too bad happy thanksgiving to you and yours
You know your gonna have to weight those logs again before you put them on the mill to see if they have lost any moisture
8:20 Matt: Maybe like 3000 pounds.
16:54 scale reads 2938 pounds.
Looks like Matt gets bragging rights! 🤣
Thanks, Matt. Just curious: is there a formula for how much weight a log will lose as it dries out?
That tree is another victim of the emerald ash beetle .
I lost my 75 foot shade in the same way. Bought my sawmill to cut it up.
All together, 4,000.
Your commit about your children losing your hinge pins and other equipment, reminds me of a quote I've heard as a young man. " There are times I could love my children to death and there are other times I wish I had.😂
Those hinge pings really should have some type of retention or you might kill someone behind you on the road,
I think I was ADD or something I had to be busy if I wasn't doing chores I was taking something apart just to see if I could put it back together
Ich tippte, der Baum ist 50Jahre alt. Und ich habe mich gefreut, einmal Deine Kinder kennenzulernen. Die Augen haben sie ohne Zweifel von ihrem Papa.
See ya next time JR 🙂
Nice guess on the log weight
What do you use to seal the ends?
Anchorseal
Cool video Matt thanks 👍🏋️♀️🤗🤺☦️
I hope you find that other hinge pin before your lawn mower does.😬
logging Chain Choker. sinches on the log.
Too cute 🎉🙋♀️💖🇨🇱
Happy Thanksgiving to you all will the ash last and age the bug won't still eat it??
EAB only eats the cambium
Good
3,48o lbs for the 12'?
I'll go 560 for the crotch and 4200 fot the trunk.❤
❤❤
Casually guesses 3K pounds for the big log ...
I guessed 3K for the big one and 1500 for the smaller crotch piece, I think I got lucky to be that close, but I'll be sure and make good use of my bragging rights.
You were close on your 3000 lb guess
Happy Thanksgiving. You're a smart man but I just don't understand the Dodge truck.
Pulls the trailer
Matt you’re in big trouble when your wife sees him out. Supposed to be SICK… lol…
Question what winch are you using?
Bigger trouble if I left him home by himself. 18k harbor freight
🤘🤘
3750 and 1245 those are my guesses. Lol
Did your wife get elected? Love your channel.
guess: big one is 3 tons
Didn’t I see a lull at the beginning of the video?
chip off the old block
👋🏼
3631 lbs
@15:52 I don't need to say what it looks like, but if it was smooth and warm, you'd be demonetized.👴😉🤫
