Seriously. I just found him... and my first thought was "holy shit - this kid plays like Buddy." He's even got a lot of the hand motions... and I mean the subtle ones... like Buddy Rich did.
Love the "freestyleness" (if that's a word) of the Big Band era. Everyone seems to do their own thing in perfect harmony (IMHO). I also love that there are young people out there like yourself that won't let it die. Thank you for that. It is a national treasure that more people should experience.
A young drummer playing like the old greats…fabulous to see. And not needing the massive number of drums and cymbals, like many modern drummers today, Just a basic 4 piece kit. It shows what raw talent can do..
@@roybeckerman7843 your statement does give off the effect of downplaying skills of those with more equipment. That's one way it could be percieved, at least. Nevertheless, the musical and sonic ability of this man is incredible. More drums means more options too.
@@OfficialDreamTheater True, and you hear a LOT of people talking down on drummers who have a huge kit as if they're fake or incompetent drummers, and half the people in the drum community give super high praise to people who are competent without a bunch of drums while sneering at those with many, as if it's somehow bad to have a large variety.
@@wob6776 No..I’m referring to Greyson using a kit more along lines of Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich..obviously his big influences. Nothing against the big kits…just referring to what’s on the screen being used here. I’d actually like to see him play on a big kit…. It would be very interesting, considering how good he is..
Greyson Nekrutman is simply in a league of his own. The fire department is literally called everytime this cat gets his hands on a pair of sticks. 🤘🏻🥁🥁🥁🥁🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🥁🥁🥁🥁🤘🏻
This is the great `Sing Sing` classic plus a bit more. Great drumming! Nobody seems to get the Gene Krupa floor tom sound exactly. I believe he used an 18inch floor tuned quite low to get that amazing sound. How exciting that must have been when Krupa played it in 1938. What a fantastic image he had. Thanks for that.
I love this guys solo videos but when he’s playing as part of a combo/group you really get a sense of his enormous skill and musicality! His drum parts drive that song without overpowering the band. He’s 100% the real deal! Great work, sir!
Put this man Greyson on Americas Got Talent. Now this is Talent real Talent. Get the producers of the show to put Greyson Nedkrutman on the show. He is the Real Talent. those judges would have their heads turned a round,. What a drummer.
Gene Krupa would have been proud to know you! Listen to the original 30's Carnegie Hall performance at just how fast he really was there at the end. You are right there w/his speed!
Krupa's original drum part for this song actually isn't too terribly difficult, most modern drummers can play it after practicing for a little while, what he's done here is taken the part and overcomplicated it, as a demonstration of his skill and stick control. If he were playing this as a member of a big band in front of an audience, he would probably just play it pretty straight the way that Krupa did.
My God you're a beast. On top of your incredible playing, I still can't get over the fact you're wearing a suit. I'd have that suit drenched after 3 mins playing the way you play.
I went to the University of North Texas which is a very good music school and I enjoyed watching the jazz band play in the student union even though it wasn't my preferred type of music. You can't deny skill when you see it....this is fantastic playing, I enjoyed it very much!
OK - you just killed me. Sing Sing Sing is the greatest song every recorded. I wished done this live with a full orchestra - but I appreciate that you used the Harry James version. You're more of a Buddy Rich than a Gene Krupa, but you killed this song.
Way to go Greyson! Hello from Malaysia, I do follow you on facebook besides youtube too..your jazz drumming and single stroke application inspired me to drill more on that single strokes like what Buddy Rich did long2 time ago!!
Dude has stellar talent and even more fly fashion. You love to see it. Your warm up videos are awesome and much appreciated.. i really need to work on my fundamentals, and you are an amazing inspiration! Thank you sir!
Ahhhh…! Thank you so much for this short excerpt of my most favorite Swing gem❣️ I was requesting this from you some time ago when “no one knew you yet”, LOL 😂 Although I wouldn’t have mind to get the (very) longer version, I’m still happy you did this “for moi”😉 Mr. “Gene Nekrutman Krupa”
Pretty much every drummer knows him by now but I want him to have mainstream fame. He deserves it.
This is Buddy Rich’s replacement sent from God to entertain the masses, I love this guys playing, skill, musicality and attitude.
Seriously. I just found him... and my first thought was "holy shit - this kid plays like Buddy." He's even got a lot of the hand motions... and I mean the subtle ones... like Buddy Rich did.
NO, GENE KRUPA MODE

Bringing old school drumming back to the front again. Nicely done sir!

having a large amount of drums and cymbals doesnt make a drummer any less talented

As a beginner, everytime I watch your videos I get motivated so much. Thank you for the amazing content. Love from Turkey.
This is a documentation of greatness.
The future of this dude is gonna be something else…
I have never seen such eloquent splash work

Love this old school drumming coming back!! 100% approve!!
You are truly a beast! Adding your style, Krupa's style and Rich's style. Amazing.
He plays so smoothly 😩😩
Awesome! You played last part like Krupa. Not many covers do that. Please upload the full video of the song. 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I feel like your definitely gonna bring big band back I love it!
I love watching Greyson play. He's a great drummer.
Jaw dropper! This is incredible, watching Master at work!

Greyson! You do every serious drummer proud! Nice job young man! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
…And the sucky church drummers like me.. been playing for years and don’t have half the chops this kid has! Practice, practice, practice…
Thank you. Impressive. You're knocking out all of the iconic drum songs and intros one by one like dominos. Killer stuff on display right here.
Love the fact you're using a floor tom as a desk.
I could watch this all day!
Fantastic drummer. Wonderful to watch!
I don't even know how to begin starting trying to get this good
I don't even play or enjoy watching drumming but I watched every single video of this kid , amazing stuff
The way he can match what's happening melodically is literally the coolest thing ever
Man you are a great Drummer. I am totally blown away. You are the best that has come along in a long time unbearable technique.
I literally don’t even know what kind of music this is but Greyson is on some type of godly level out here. Greyson sir you are CRRRRRISPY!
this is swing at it's best
This is INSANE! Hats off.
This guy is a modern day Buddy Rich. Shit. Mad props. This work is amazing. Keep at it

I can't imagine how hard is to play that well !!!

When that was over I said " Holy shit that was FUCKIN amazing."
Okay my recommended is giving me some GOOD videos now. This was definitely worth the click, holy shit.

What in the world did I just stumble upon 😍😍
Even without cowbell - = fantastic
If I didn't know any better, I would think that this is Buddy Rich reincarnated!
10/10
From one drummer to another...wow!
He may be the next Buddy Rich, at least as close as we can get to a new age Buddy.. kid is out of this world good.
My God you're a beast. On top of your incredible playing, I still can't get over the fact you're wearing a suit. I'd have that suit drenched after 3 mins playing the way you play.
What A Wonderful Percussion - Thank You 🙂
Those hats were about to jump right off the stand by the end. 😆
I was half expecting that hi-hat to go over toward the end there
Could watch all day,if i could hold back from playing!!
Alléluia ! Formidable!

Watching this guy since his childhood experience. Awesome
I'm breathless. And I'm just watching. Definitely one to watch out for in the future! 👍
