I wrestled 6 years through high school. I love this short film. I met a 22 year old gymnast this summer who would make a great story for a film. He's from Ukraine and adopted by Americans. He grew up being bullied at school. He's jacked AF and has extremely muscular abs. He said jocks at school found him alone doing a bar workout. They held him in a full nelson and punched the fuck out of his abs. But he took their punches very well. It took over half an hour and his abs were still able to keep going. He said it got dark and bugs were biting so they finally stopped. He then went to lift weights with wrestlers that summer. He grew a lot but then got into aggressive abs training. He trained at our gym all summer and every Friday did an a really tough abs workout and let us throw hard punches. His abs are shredded and rock hard. His story is amazing. We learned that he did a college tour and met some frat guys who saw his amazing physique and loved how he could take punches. He said they wanted him to make sure to visit their frat house before he left town. So he drove there. But he also decided to let them see what he could take. He said most guys were not into beating up a high schooler. He said he left disappointed but then some guys followed him out to his truck. They called a few friends and met up somewhere. This gymnast then said he really wanted to get the shit beat out of him like the night he first got beat up. He said he had grown taller and added a lot more muscle. But he also trained his abs insanely hard--and I saw a lot of that part. He said the frat guys basically did all he wanted. But they also beat him so badly that they let him sleep over to recover before driving back home. He's a beast but not a UA-camr. He could make lots of money making videos.

People missed the point here. The father never listened or looked at him. He only talked about making it to Varsity. He never asked how he was doing or is this what he really wanted? Most all parents live through their children. That is where they need to stop and just be a parent. The thing I took away from this was that the father never said "I Love You."

Wrestling is a sport where you can only rely on yourself and will often push yourself to the limits if you want to win. Lots of personal growth
