  • A brief review and overview of the Grandstream GXP2160 6 line Enterprise IP phone. We like this SIP based IP phone for our small and mid sized business customers due to the 24 busy lamp field keys (BLF) as well as the 6 lines and conferencing features, in addition to the great audio quality.

Hi, I will be working from home soon & I’ve brought my phone with me but I am having issues being able to intercom my coworkers. It works perfectly fine for both inbound & outbound calls, the only issue is with intercom. My coworkers can intercom me, but I can’t intercom them. Any suggestions as to why this is happening? Is there something I could try with the phon? Or does this seem like an issue that has to do more with the type of router I have?

Hi, I am trying to configure the MPK keys, but I can not make them work, do I have to configure them in the desired extension?

What PBX are you using? Some PBX’s handle the MPK keys differently. With VentureTel.net (that we support), you setup users and BLF keys to show busy status and have the ability to transfer or call other users by pushing their key.
If you have multiple accounts on your phone, the keys also only work with the account they are assigned to. There are a few features, but I don’t recall what without looking, where you can set the key to the active account.

can I hang a four way call? will the others remain on the call or nah?

By default it would hang up the call. You should be able to set "Transfer on Conference Hangup" to yes on the Accounts 'Call Settings' tab. Which should then transfer the call to the other party if the conference initiator hangs up.

    Dear sir,
I have a question. Great video btw! Sometimes the secretary has to ask if she can transfer a certain call. How do you do this with this particular phone? Thank you. Bye

By default the phone is setup to do a direct transfer. From the web interface, there is an option to enable attended transfer... I'll have to look when I'm back at the office for the exact location of where it's enabled. Once it's enabled, when you hit transfer (and dial the extension) the caller would be placed on hold and the secretary (in your scenario) would be connected with the other extension, where thwy could tell them who is calling, then to complete the transfers, the secretary would hit transfer again.
Another option that several of our clients choose to do is to just place the call on hold and dial the extension, or if you pbx supports it, intercom the extension and announce the caller, then hang up and pick the called they placed on hold up and then transfer as normal to the extension.

How can I forward calls to another person while I'm away at from my desk?

    • @joeleskelsen684

That may depend on your voip provider, but typically on the main screen there is a button that says ForwardAll (third button from the left below the screen) - hit that, and then enter the number you want to forward your calls to.
