Was there ever any engineering basis explanation given by VW Motorsport as to WHY they did not fit to and develop this G60 engine with the 16V head (or was there a 16V displacement multiplication factor for homologating boosted Group A cars back then, and it would have been over that limit??)? Or was it simply a better bottom end torque response with the G-lader with an 8V head?

I am really wanting to learn about the driveline on the RallyeGolf...does it use a Haldex or a standard rear diff?
Yes, inform us as to what the Group A 'upgrades' actually entailed as far as the drive train goes on this beast!
