I always thought it was hilarious that any "old school Harley guy" hates this bike until I took off from a stop light and left them in the dust on mine. After that they seem really interested in it. The biggest problem Harley has is the employees at their dealership. Almost everyone that works at Harley is an "old school Harley guy" and they'd push a Dyna or cheaper Softail instead of one of these for the same price.
It's one of the most reliable bikes I've ever owned, it's never broken down and nothing other than oil changes and a battery recently. It's actually rather comfortable for long trips. I drove mine from Austin Texas to Tampa Florida with no problems.
I can't agree with that. All the dealerships in my neck of the woods employ young, tattoo bearing hipster types as well as the odd old school type.
And they can keep there 50k bikes
The most reliable Engine they ever made. One of the reasons they got rid of it. They never made money on it with maintenance.
All this bike needed was a 6 Speed, updated a bit and ride by wire.
FXDR-S1000R Eli C. That and many of the “traditional” Harley consumers bastardized it due to the amount of technology and lack of pushrods
No engine maintenance scheduled til 25K
6spd and rbw is exactly what it needed to evolve.
@@tawaitai i totally agree. Always missing the sixth gear when kicking it hard :)
I own a 17 Night Rod, the “last” of the Mohicans, your comments and analysis are 100% correct, this channel is excellent.
sweet bike and thanks for the kind words
The v-rod actually is the best Harley ever made. I have no clue why Harley wouldn’t keep making this. I don’t particularly like Harleys that much but I’ve gotta respect this one.
They killed the V-Rod because it didn't meet European emission standards. Losing out on the entire European market is too big of a pill to swallow.
@@Steve_Kelly_Oak honda shadow 1100 rider, I usually eat harleys at stoplights, and don’t have to order parts and have repairs done every 2 minutes, it is what it is buddy, this was the pinnacle of HD, but obviously their fan base and corporate decided to stick with building 19th century’s bikes with 22th century’s prices
Still makes no sense. They could’ve used the 1250 engine from the Pan America. It makes more power and torque and still met standards…..
i loved my shadow phantom most comfortable bike ive ever ridden now i have an 883 iron which is nowhere near the level of smoothness and comfort and speed of my old phantom RIP drunk driver hit me totalling my phantom i miss it so much@@Minecraftlol18

I love the V-Rod. I can't believe they're going to discontinue it. It's such an awesome bike!

Traded my 650 Vulcan S for the 2013 Nightrod, great bike, very, very comfortable... I'm 5'9, 190 pounds. Very tight bike, my German mechanic loves it. This bike pulls hard to about 130 mph, then aerodynamics get wonky. Feels GERMANIC on the road, in a good way.
Love your guys channel. I’ve got an 02 Vrod. 12k miles, just had it fully serviced, best purchase I ever made. The torque is insane on these bikes.
Did 7 hours on the rod on twisting Southern Spanish Andalucia roads 😉😎
Awesome bike to ride, my other is a Ducati Multistrada
Some days it’s hard to choose 👍😎
Sold my Honda RC51 several years ago and in 2016 bought a 2012 VROD Anniversary Edition. Still have VROD and never looked back
If I ever get my hands on one that is the only Harley I would buy it's reliable liquid cooled it performs just as good as any Japanese motorcycle
Not even close!
HD make a big mistake the V ROD are the best bike they got!
No offense, but you are a black guy.
My best bud is mallato... no racism here brother, but you're not really a biker guy. Although I know black clubs exist that ride real Harley's. Not race bike Harley's that want to look and compete with race bike euro japo bikes
Bignose Harry the Vrod was the best thing HD had going. Us younger guys don’t all want bikes that all you older dudes ride. We want powerful, agile, with a vtwin, and something that will compete with any V-Max, Ducati Diavel, or Amy other uncle cruiser that it may come across. Killing off the V-Rod was the second biggest mistake they made. The first was getting rid of Erik Buell and his line of motor cycles. Third biggest, was doing a TERRIBLE job of attracting younger riders that want muscle cruisers that do more than make the traditional Harley noise, and weigh 650+ lbs.
Harley needs to get with the times, and the modern motorcycle consumer, and evolve with the times.
@@bignoseharry6561 what does race do with real bikers or not
They look cool, comfy as all hell, but they will kill you in maintenance. Nothing is simple, and the labor hours add up quick.
@@bignoseharry6561 what in the hell does him being a " so called black man" have to do with his own personal experience and or expertise with motorcycles? The fact that you had to point out that your best bud is mollato( not even a nationality just like black, which is a color) means you are indeed a racist. Stop stereotyping, generalizing, and compartmentalizing people. Your comment is overly presumptuous and down right, and I use this word in all seriousness, STUPID.
Harley should have put this motor in their electraglide. But it costs to much to build. So they built the twin cam. The twin cam is realy cheap to build and harley needs to make money so let the customer fix it. The new 107 still has the crank pressed together it's junk. Harley has to make money so they rely on customer loyalty not quality.
fredmagee NOT QUALITY then why make a crankshaft outta steel? Aluminum much cheaper! Why is real steel body parts? Aluminum and plastic much cheaper! So far as quality goes.......not sure what the fuck you talking bout?
Austin Wise go to you tube look up checking crank run out on a harley twin cam. The only way to prevent a twin cam crank from twisting is to not start it. If it twists to much you replace the whole motor. If it just twists a little it'll run fine but chew up the bearings. A crank on a 200. Dollar briggs doesn't wobble why does a harley crank wobble.
fredmagee so I looked up this SO CALLED problem and I see it happens when a lot of people are doing engine builds not actually keeping them stock. So sounds like there might be only few that are stock that have issues(witch every bike has it's issues somewhere) and from the sounds of it these idiots that are doin there own builds of the engine MOST LIKELY ARE NOT ACTUALLY MECHANICS! so if there fucking something up don't blame the bike. So again as soon as you can show me a vrod that does not have one issue or one bike that doesn't have one issue it's a lost cause. Also as soon as you show me vrods that has more miles then real Harley's then I might say this bike is reliable or has a good engine.
fredmagee all I know is I've never once seen a Harley broke down (and I travel alot) never seen one Harley that actually leaked oil (but my dad's Kawasaki always did and that's why my dad bought a Harley after junking it and has over 200k miles now) but all I'm saying is this. Every bike company has problems Harley only gets talked about more because there the people's bike and it's the biggest brand name around! Everyone says something about Harley being junk because they either never had one or they got one that was a 🍋. I'm only 24 years old and I've bought 2 of them and keep them stock and only have done regular maintenance to both. My 99' ultra classic has just under 220k miles and the only thing besides maintenance I've done was replace the cam chain tensioner other then that regular maintenance (tires, oil, brakes). And my 2015 Dyna low rider I just bought , bought it at 6k miles and in 2 years have already put on 43k miles and the same thing happens on this bike just regular maintenance no issues and waiting to put over 200k miles on this beast! Now I can speak from experience that Harley's are the most reliable bikes I've ever seen with the most miles on any bike I've ever seen. I have personally seen a guys Harley in Cali it was a 07' street glide and that thing had over 500k miles witch is ridiculously high for only a 10 year old bike but I guess in Cali you can ride all year where I live in Michigan and I gotta ride in the winter and can't ride as much. If you look up million miles Harley it exist. The closest Honda I've found was a goldwing and that only had 400k miles. But at the end of the day it comes down to DOES THE BIKE MAKE YA HAPPY? my Harley's always make me happy so I have no complaints but if your bike don't get rid of it!!
"I've never once seen a Harley broke down (and I travel alot)"
"never seen one Harley that actually leaked oil"
I'm starting to believe that A) you have never left your neighborhood. and B) that you've never seen a Harley with any miles on it.
I've been around more than a few years longer than you but travel around a bit more and you'll see Harleys broken down on the side of the road more than most. I've also been around Harley of every stripe form panheads to v-rods and Milwaukee 8's. Anything form the last century is going to leak. its just a question of which part this time. The newer bikes are better but still prone to leaking once they have some miles on them.
There's a bike for every rider you have to find what you like and works for you
That's very dam true, everyone has their own opinion, but I wouldn't ever race for pink titles, I've believed not everyone plays fair, if you were to lose your bike over a bad cheatin trick, I wouldn't ever talk to that s,o, b, ever again, if friends can't keep it fair, I wouldn't waste time on them no more, wayneeden95@gmail.com
I own a 2016 bought it brand new. No issues and just as easy to work on as my Kawi 6R. Engine is bullet proof.
Yes its over 600lbs but until you ride it, you won't know how nimble it is as you cut through traffic with a small twist of the wrist.
The rear tire breaks used to scare my ass but now I do it 90% of the time. No it's not the most comfy ride after a couple of hours. It revs high around 9000 rpm's and screams smooth over 5000 where most other cruisers tend to top out. I'll get other bikes but this is a keeper.
D LAT69 yep
I can't believe it smokes the rear tire, just like my '70 goat
Their fan base didn't understand what they are. Because their dealers didn't either.
They sell an image, a lifestyle, heritage, tradition, family....NEVER what their bike can do vs other brands.
It's sad as hell and is going to be the demise of the company! Boring underpowered vibrating antique shit is all it is!
There's some truth to this. HD sells an image and their marketing, dealers and existing customers completely misunderstood the v-rod. It was the odd duck in the showroom but it was also easily the best bike on the floor.
There are plenty of bikes faster than a V-rod and even in its class it's mid pack by most specs. It isn't in the same class as a hyabusa though so comparing an HD to one is like complaining that grandmas Cadillac isn't a Ferrari. It take a pretty ignorant HD rider (see above) to believe otherwise. But V-rods are good at what they're supposed to do but beating a busa isnt on their to do list.
The V-rod was a bold move for Harley and one that they completely screwed up. There was so much potential to move them in the right direction if only the company had a clue.
The V-Rod is the best bike they ever made, and the ONLY good bike they made, primarily because Porche helped build it. Otherwise Harley sucks.
My new favorite channel!! I'm all about scripture, bikes, and my beard!! Get down!!
Darn shame. V Rods were beautiful. I liked the first one in all stainless steel.
*brushed aluminium*
Absolutely the best bike Harley has ever made!!!! I have ridden almost every model and owned several because I love the history and heritage of Harley Davidson. Been riding for 24 years. To my disappointment, no Harley I rode could give me the tight cornering, smooth ride and powerful feeling of my 1980 Suzuki. This was disappointing to me. The baggers are very nice bikes just not my style. I test rode a V-rod and bought it immediately!!!! Amazing bike! Im just jot old enough yet for a big lunker with running boards and bags. I like to lean into my turns, get low, feel that powerful acceleration after I get upright again. You just don't get that feeling on an Ultra Glide, Road king or even the other Harley sport models. They may be great for long trips and have plenty of power but they just not made for a sports rider. The V-Rod is one of the only bikes Harley made that will satisfy a sports rider on the street. They shouldn't have gotten rid of it. They could've made it meet emissions and changed the engine. The ride and design is what makes it amazing. It was made to perform, perfect handling, almost no vibration, plenty of power, very reliable. I just can't say enough good things about it! Maybe in another 10 years Ill get a bagger but.... Probably not even then lol. I grew up riding dirt bikes and my first motorcycle was a super sport cruiser. To me, a heavy bagger with low controls just isn't the same. They're very nice motorcycles, just not for everyone. The new SL's have raised up bags, raised controls, pegs ect.... They may actually be the kind of bagger someone like me needs. They did this so you could get lower into turns, which I like. Haven't ridden one yet to confirm this theory though.
To me, aggressive means like a GSXR. Bars down by the front axle, pegs about where the rear turn signals should be. After only a few miles on one of those I was ready for a chiropractor. No way I could ride a bike like that. I'm 62, and lost interest in fast bikes a long time ago. I have a 1989 FXRS Low Rider and absolutely love it. I will never give it up. I have also owned a first generation V-Max, and loved that too, but not enough not to eventually give it up. I would love to have a V-Rod. It is not only very fast for a cruiser, but I think it is beautiful too. Especially in all silver. But since it has been out of production for some time, I would be concerned about parts, and that engine is complicated. As for what killed the V-Rod, I don't think it had anything to do with the bike itself. It just had the wrong name. It was not a Harley, and and Harley buyers didn't accept it. It might have lasted a lot longer had it been built by another company. What people don't seem to understand (other than long time Harley owners/riders like myself) is that Harley is not just a brand. It is a TYPE of motorcycle. And the V-Rod just didn't fit the definition of a "Harley" IMO, that's also why Buell failed. That's why the "Street" series failed. That's why the Deadwire is failing. That's why the Pan America will fail. Other than the Deadwire, which is simply disgusting no matter who made it, all those other bikes are/were at least good motorcycles, a couple were great. They just had the wrong name on them.
I picked up a used 2006 V-rod in like 2010. 8 years later and 1,000's of miles later I still enjoy the bike very much. Needs a little more storage and larger gas tank but as for the motor seems solid.
Being tall my V-rod is so damn comfortable. Just wish my 2006 had a larger gas tank i'm always the first one eyeballing others gas gauges.
I bought a new 2006 which still sits in my garage. It has the wide tire kit installed along with many other mods and I installed a 5 gallon tank that was available back in the day.
I have an 03 vrod with a scratch built t3 turbo system. Stock injectors, stock engine. Stock belt( which is 50% wider on the early models due to the smaller width wheel) Boost referenced regulator. 32mm wastegate intercooler all garage built, harley race Turner with modified trask program. Bike made 156rwhp 106ftlbs at 9psi. 23k turbo miles in 10 years no one issue ever. Not one. 10 years runs like a swiss watch. Most reliable bike I've owned.
Great video love your commentary. Love the seat on the muscle. By the way how’s the lean angle?
I bought my Vrod Muscle 3 years ago and love looking at it every time I go in my garage. Love it even more when I'm cruising easily at 90 mph. I wanted this bike even when Harley guys were hating on it saying the Vrod isn't a true Harley. This bike is just so cool and reliable.
Love my Vrod Muscle not planning to change it
When Harley got the engine Buell was excited. He was ready to roll out a Project 1000 Superbike Cruiser using a light frame and many Buell innovations. Then Harley said no way and placed the engine in a heavy lead framed bike. And the rest was history...
exexpat11 agree, some never learn from history, my favorite example is the way Germany misused the ME262, the worlds first jet, it could lap anything in the sky when it flew.
Rather than using it as a fighter, the way it should have been, it was used as a bomber! It was fast but it could not carry a descent payload of bombs, a waste of an innovative weapon.
Though this was great for the allies, it was misuse of the jet and rendered it insignificant during its operations.
Great comment, provocative, have a great New Year!
@@frankhernandez1995 The 262 was used as a fighter, the 262 jet engines were used on the Arado the first ever jet bomber. The coexisted in the late stages of the war.
Friend has a V-Rod. He really likes it, but complains about the long distance comfort and the fact that he gets beat by Victory bikes (which Polaris also quit producing). The V-Rod was never the bike of choice for your regular Harley riders. I always thought that Harley should have produced a touring model with the V-Rod drive train, but their engineers were to stupid to do that I guess.
John Ayres hahahah what victory even staged out is going to beat the vrod? Hahah lies lies lies never even seen a vrod come close to losing to shitty victory bikes hahahah
I've said the exact same thing. A full dresser with a larger v-rod engine, decent frame etc.. But like you said they're too stupid to understand that there are those of us that actually buy bikes to use not pose in a parking lot or in front of a bar!

The V-Rod. Such a wonderful and cool motorcycle.
Harley produced a video years ago about the V-Rod. There were a few glorious omissions in that corporate video. No mention of Erik Buell, and no mention of the racing heritage of the engine.
Yes, Harley disrespected the best made Harley Davidson! Huge mistake to discontinue the original V-ROD, Night Rod and V-ROD Muscle! Nobody wants the hot temperature clunky traditional Harley. IMO I know I wouldn’t, been there done that. The only Harley I would ever buy again would be a V-ROD.
I would have loved to see that engine in a sport touring frame. A Kawasaki Concours 14 with a Porsche V twin would be epic.
but the concours makes more power than the v rod
Yeah, the Concours makes more power but it's not a v twin. Tune the twin for a strong low and midrange powerband, have a good fairing and keep the frame slim and nimble. I"m not really a muscle cruiser guy.
Despite the common wisdom this isn't a Porsche designed V-twin. It's a Harley design with Porsche hired to consult.
The V-rod's people really need to ride are the street rods or night rods with mids. completely different riding experience and handling. Put THAT into a lighter frame and you would have a screamer.
V-rod was wacking harleys thats why lol
Your header is way out in left field
IT IS NOT A HARLEY PORCHE
Do your home work the only thing Porsche had a hand in was to help redesign the engine for street use

My opinion of Harley is THEY SCREWED UP STOPPING PRODUCTION OF THIS BIKE..
So you don’t need to stop for signs???
He has bad driving habits i drive responsible with a cdl
And now I am ready to buy one they discontinued it... Speechless
The 3 gallon gas tank below the seat killed the v-rod. I stopped at every gas station. 60 miles to a full tank. Figure how many times you’d stop going from Atlanta to Tampa. 😊 My 2006 Night Rod, dual pipes on right side (calf burner), mid-control was super fast and great in the turns.
Never seen a company do so little with so much
James Shedd but they do have a lot of designers working VERY hard on 2018 black T-shirts! They should be bad ass !
Harley is a very frustrating company. The VRod had a bunch of things going for it. The tank sucks in my opinion and the forks look goofy with the radiator. I don't have an issue with water cooled either.
Sleeker styling would have helped. It looks slow, eventhough it's actually pretty quick. The rear end looks fine.
The tone takes some getting used to. It always bothered me they farmed this out to Porsche though. They gave them carte blanche, while restricting there own engineers like Buell. But I digress.
Best Harley ever. But they had to have Porsche help build it. Harley puts a new paint job on bikes and call it a brand new model. They better get something going or they will be gone.
And they always brag @ torque. The new Japanese litre bikes have just as much , twice the horsepower and weigh 300 pounds less.
Is that the stock exhaust on the motorcycle and if not could you tell me the name and where it was purchased.
Harley killed a magnificent sports bike ,muscle bike ,hotrod. They had something that have stayed in its own class while surviving . This would of been a bike that was built like lamborghini . Not a high number of bikes coming out but improve them as the years go by .
V Rod all day! Awesome bikes!

I love the Vrod. I would have loved to see the Vrod motor in the touring bike.I rode a Honda Magna for 16 years so the power cruiser is my thing.
It was too technically advanced for regylar Harley riders. It looked European, with strange aesthetics.
Mechanics did hate to work on them. I know of several that won't touch them. They'll touch an Italian engineering mess before they'd touch a V-Rod. Shame really.

I like your take on this bike. Speaking of muscle bikes, have you reviewed the kawasaki eliminator 600 or 900? Had a buddy who had a 900, that was a tuff bike, been kicking around the idea of looking for one.
It was certainly one of HDs better efforts. A bigger tank would have made it better
I have a muscle and find that the shift from first to second sometimes is hard. it gets stuck in neutral sometime and its most of the time rough, like you feel the shift going through neutral and feel the bump.
I have a 2010 vrod muscle. Rode it today. It's awesome. Just gotta do some work to it.
Thanks for another great video
The only Harley that I would ever consider owning.
And many don't consider it a Harley at all.
Engine enginered by Porsche to remove the noise vibration and harshness.
Harley said that's what we want to keep!
Porsche said those are symptoms of a poorly tuned engine and that's what's wrong with it.
So once done what did Harley do
De tune it to create noise vibration and harshness.
🙄
On second thought no I don't think I want one
The old schoolers wouldn’t accept change, they say that’s not a harley🤣🤣 but what they call Harley’s are made with foreign components all over them, so the air cooled old tech is a real bike🤣🤣🤣🤣 tbh I used to ride Harley’s till I sobered up, sold them. Then I got the itch again so I got 03 magna, and gen 1 vmax. Now those are definitely real bikes respected anywhere I go. But hey ride what you like and what makes your soul smile👍 that’s what counts.
I personally can not think of that bike having the issues that any of the other Harley 's go through..
Yeah.. this thing works great...
VTX 1800 or VROD?? I have a VTX1800C but I’m really considering a Night Rod. With the intention of keeping both of them of course.
Maverick3439 depends what for. Night Rod is def quicker but isn’t your typical cruiser. Not as comfortable
Does anyone know what kind of gloves those are?
Pictures don't do that bike justice. I went to check one out last year (a 2010 with V&H pipes and minor upgrades) with only 5,400 miles for $9,000.00. It was love at first sight (and after a 2nd test ride I was hooked!).
Best investment I ever made on a machine! Pure pleasure! It's crack cocaine on 2 wheels! My 03 FZ1 was a thrill (Cycle World's "World's Best Streetbike" June 2004) but takes a back seat to what I consider to be nothing short of a continuouse V-TWIN orgasm!
Sorry Yamaha- you make awesome machines- but Harley Davidson won my heaet with this bike! It is Cruiser PERFECTION! So much so that I WILL buy a 2017 model (black of course) this year with only test driven miles, just as a spare!
It breaks my heart to see an end to HD's masterpeice. Hopefully it will come back some day.
A V Rod is aggressive? What are you used to riding? Gold Wings?
The TC-88 worked fine The screwed up with the 96 which ran shot rear cylinder.
Please make a comparison with the new FXDR 114 and see which one is better.
Top-end power is why some people call 'em Hardleys. Crack the throttle on the Freeway & hardly anything happens.
I waited till the 06' came out to buy one. Not sure how the other ones acted, but mine was a nightmare of vanishing oil, engine stalling, and porous cylinder heads. The Motor Co. wasn't very helpful until Lawyers got into the picture. Once they were properly motivated, the bike was repaired, and did well.
Friend I used to ride with had a V-Rod. Riding a 600 u still need to be good to even attempt trying to ditch this thing. I obviously rode it and that thing is tits. Definitely the fastest Harley I've ever ridden, awesome bike.
Probably the only Harley Davidson I'd ever buy! The only exception might be the fat boy and that's only because the terminator made it look so damn cool💪👍😃
I have a 2003 V Rod and I absolutely love it, best riding bike I ever owned, best bike Hardly Davidson made but of course they have to screw it up by adding a ridiculous fat tire in the back that change the handling of it . if it works don't fix it !
Well, did you ever heard about the XR 1200?
James 1:21, regarding that word that you couldn't make out, not sure which version you use but the KJV says superfluiity of naughtiness which means basically to avoid sin.
Best engine Harley ever made. They've survived in the Street Rod line.
Really not the same engine.Street is a SOHC. VRod was DOHC.
H-D needed a sport version of the V-rod. The lean forward position with forward mounted pegs and long arm reach is not for all. Looks uncomfortable as hell to ride. They had the Buell and dumped that too.
It's an awesome ride
The 1250cc engine is indeed smaller than the standardl 103 ci Evo or 107 ci Milwaukee 8, but performance/power wise, it is night and day. I recently rented a glide with Milwaukee 8 (I own a VRod Muscle) and I had the feeling the bike was so slow and unresponsive basically only making more noise when I was pulling the throttle. The VRod, even original, is totally tearing it. I am not sure if Harley permanently took the VRod out of production (this year they also removed the Dyna off the portfolio, so it could be a production decision to focus on lesser chassis models) or just did it in preparation of a future upgrade, but in my view the VRod was really a modern performing motorcycle with awesome design and still true to the brand. It would be a shame to can the model totally. I dont think their small bikes will be successful and I dont think they will get away with copying the design of their old bikes forever either without their business eventually spiraling down.
5:52 Minute of the video just put the smile on my face immediately.
I got myself a truimph Thunderbird 1600 and I want to change it to a VRod so bad!
The best motorcycle ever made by harley was vrod , it was decades ahead to whatever harley was making . People just killed real innovation and they complained why harley is outdated
Beautiful day and very nice roads.
The bike is the best bike Harley produced the problem is it was not their best seller the bike was not that popular that is why harley canned the V-rod
They should have built an 800 of this beautiful motor. Every owner/ former owner I know commented on the fuel guzzling, Porsche could have addressed that. The V rod will be one of the most collectable Harley's ever made. The "Harley" people didn't take to them as they should have.
ray wite I agree, I detuned my Knight Rod, from 137 HP, to 124 HP, and can go an amazing 124 miles on 4 gallons of gas, if I don't get crazy on the throttle
Randy Hutchinson That’s only 31mpg. I can beat on my Night Rod and do that. 36 if i treat it nice
Christopher Wisner right on, I can go, 124 miles, on 4 gallons of gas, on my2012 Knight Rod,
Christopher Wisner that's haulin ass, though
The word is " implanted " .
Awesome way to start a ride. Great bike as well.
Book of James... Great choice. No coincidence that its my name. I would love to take that bike on I-76 back to philly. Great channel guys. Keep it up
Law 1, tank over 3.75 g goes on bikes that's slow, so might as well have range. Front pegs put on cruiser, not fast bikes, 90° pegs or crutch rocket rear pegs go on fast bikes. With you ont you sitting between 800-850 lbs that's a lot for 80+ lbs of torque, pushing that enormous rear wheel. It's a show bike, good to make it pretty, but not something you'll race stock. But nonstock, well anything built up, can be raced.
I was a HD test rider when the prototype Vrod was called the P4. I rode those bikes all over Alabama and on the Tallededga Super Speedway. Poorly thought out & poorly marketed. They should have made an adventure bike with it not a cruiser.
You got to owe One to understand ! Best HD ever made! Rest of them just Suck!
whats the bike behind the Ninja?
I don't like motorbikes with radiators. My '93 VFR750 would get hot after 180. After 15 years and 863 miles, I traded it for an 1960 Allstate 250 and 1964 Sportster. My Allstate is on road off road bike. The Sport is for fun. However, I like the V-Rod look.
Those are great in a straight line. Corners not so much
I sat on one, and it had an odd feeling about it, so... at a bike show some years ago, there was a custom trike built from a silver V Rod, and I think HD should have pursued that route, a liquid cooled touring trike with lots of power would have by now evolved into a world beater. What a missed opertunity, an adventure bike based on the Evo Sportster, would sell well today, judging by the number of home and shop built ones around. Again, missed opertunity! No company can be successful if they throw one opportunity after the other away. As to Ev's, no to exploding vehicles, just no!
If they continued with progression it would be up to 160hp,GOD bless
Harley Davidson keep up with progress?
LOL!
Hey I'd like a chance to win the motorcycle, although your patreon page says no purchase necessary to win, the eligibility rules on your patreon page specifically state "This Campaign is open only to those who subscribe to SRK Cycles’ exclusive content on Patreon." So I have to pay at least $1 to join the patreon page, this is not free entry. Just thought I would point out that your terms are contradictory. How exactly do I get FREE entry into the bike giveaway?
CycleCruza you have money cycle cruza . Go ride your cbr1000rr
CycleCruza Good point by a great channel
CycleCruza this is a hypocrite if I ever seen one! Talks all that shit bout wouldn't buy a Harley or own a Harley because there so junk yet catch ya trying to win one hahah. So after all u come around and want a real fucking bike!! This is why Harley don't sweat selling to young kids cause as soon as you hit 30 you actually mature and realize how fucked up you been thinking and finally get real and get a Harley hahah.
How do I enter to win that awesome Harley?
To small of a bike for me, but it's an absolutely gorgeous machine
Small?
I'm not talking down to anyone here, just sharing my thoughts. The V-rod, what the heck was that all about? I pause before I enter into debates and ask myself, " am I about to make comments without FULL knowledge of the topic? " Sometimes I'm guilty. What I've discovered and probably nothing new is that we enter into a discussion, give a view, make a judgement, then defend our opinion (or advice ) and be far from making sense. German engineering, that's just not right someone might say or joke about Harley's Porsche. ( V-rod at first was 69.0 cu in and 1,131cc ) German Engineering - after WWII Harley acquired the rights to the German DKW 2 stroke 125cc engine & Harley produced a 2 stroke bike for 15 yrs. Nothing much changed with the ' V-twin ' for decades except updated designs; The Flathead, The Knucklehead, The Panhead & The Shovelhead. Harley made several of it's own 2 stroke off road bikes into the 60's- The Ranger, The Pacer, The Scat. The Bobcat was the last Harley American Made 2 stroke. Italian Engineering - in 1961 Harley stepped into dual purpose bikes and dirt bikes after purchasing fifty percent of Aermacchi's motorcycle division. AMF years produced models The 125cc Rapido, The 100cc Baja, The X90 mini bike, The SS250cc ( SX250 racing bike) then the four stroke Sprint. German Engineering - 2014 ( to present ) Street 500 & 750. The current 500cc & 750cc RevolutionX engine is a version of the V-rod V-twin which was co-developed by Porsche. The Harley ' Streets ' are produced in Kansas for USA & Canada then for the rest of the world produced in India. Yes I had to do some research to refresh my memory but change at Harley Davidson is not new. Also with the Baby Boomers riding less & buying less Harley has redesigned it's line up for a new generation. This caught me off guard and I'm resentful about it sooo I finally joined the rest of the naysayers ! Thank you. LONG LIVE THE DYNA !
I think there are people who prefere a rugged life. In turn they like a raw riding experience. Also they understand that Americans are better off supporting American manufacturing. Some of us even do all our own maintenance for the life of our motorcycles. I for one feel closer to my machines when I put in new rings and valves. I have gotten to understand the inner workings and that adds to the experience.
Been riding since age 15 now I'm 67. My current machine is a 2015 FLHP Road King Police because I wanted it since 1956. My dream came true. I still have my 1994 Sportster 883 and my 1976 Triumph Bonneville. My first 3 bikes are gone.
Yes they did not just vrods, which I personally think are butt ugly but the entire FXR line up, best handling Harley ever, but also the Buell line up.
That 2011 Harley Blackline would be perfect for my wifes first cycle. She would look so good on that.
