  • In this short video I'm simply replacing the second pinion on a caliber 1012 Omega movement. This particular movement is found within my Seamaster cosmic 2000. The movement dial hands etc. We're all removable as a modular unit. Some speed masters were similar to this including the mark series.

it would help if you disassemble the watch back correctly, this is a module type case and it needs pushing out from the back to the front

Hi, I have an Omega dynamic 1012 that I got on my 12th birthday. It was my dads watch and when he upgraded he gave it to me. The stem and barrel needs to be replaced and can benefit from a good service. It costs too much to have it serviced by Omega but it has sentimental value so I’ve decided to service it myself. I have purchased all the quality tools over time. Would you do a complete video of replacing the stem/barrel/complete service of the 1012. Thanks for your help. BTW, great channel.

That's a horrid redial on that cosmic 2000. I have the same one in same colour, original dial, doesn't look that horrid haha

cool video i just have one litle remark, you can not mount the second hand with the auto winding bridge installed on all omega 10XX movements(the secondhand pinion needs to be supported from the underside)
    best regards.

So you have to take off the auto winding bridge to install the seconds hand?? I have a seamaster 1012 that I am trying to fix and I am havign serious issues with the hands. The seconds hand doesn't seem to engage and remains loose and moves with gravity. The minutes hand seems to constantly get stuck on the dial indicators.

I just looked into what you were talking about in regards to supporting the second-hand pinion. I will try this.

How does one separate the centre piece from the case? Is there a omega special tool for this?
