Actually quite a few of them were, every squad had a guy with an AR-15 and another with an AR-10! I made sure they had a huge variety of weapons to really give them that "unorganized" feel tho
Finally got around to watching this after the video I watch of yours earlier. Easily one of the best arma ops I've seen. I love the sections of you relaying information in a play by play like way, keep up the great work! I wish I could sub twice lol
Thanks man, I really appreciate the kind words! I'm also really glad you like the analysis segments, those took quite a bit of time and effort to put together so it's good to know they're appreciated
Exactly what I was hoping for! Your animations and tactical explanations are really well done. I’m impressed and excited for part two. I really love how you manage the AI too, you make it more challenging but scale it to each player in a very unique way. Great stuff and I see much potential in this content.
I do like the format but I do think you’re being a bit too easy on the guys. I know you’re trying to play like the AI but they really should be facing a more realistic enemy. They shouldn’t be bailed out by intentionally bad aim when they make a mistake. Good idea though.
This is the exact format I have always wanted. Little bit of narrative to invest you in the success or failure of the mission. Maps just to make sense of it all and narration of what is going on. Love seeing a good GM that's not just torturing the players too. Great video.
14:40 You adding this in, without talking about it and just letting it be a background element, is absolute class. Also, very creative use of that infantry recording... which was set up correctly and would not cause ear damage to anyone hearing it (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Finally, this is the second time my T-rex eyes have not noticed you shooting at me. I noticed quicker this time though!
Believe it or not one of the biggest contributing factors to making it Florida was just that the Limestone map is probably the best US map on the Arma Steam Workshop lmao
The only thing I want to say would most likely be different is that most of the “militia” would most likely be veterans and put up a much better fight than portrayed here. As in the federals are using doctrine while Militia units would know doctrine but not be bound by it and would also be advised by NG liaison teams who could also call for reinforcements.
I am disappointed with how little you were aiming down sights when you took over an NPC, this isn't LA were the locals fire there guns side ways, this is the deep south were Guns are more plentiful than people, they wouldn't just be spraying from the hip in my view.
It's not got much to do with how the militia would act IRL, it's more to do with keeping it fun for the players. Players generally really hate when they get downed from an RCed unit (me included), so instead I mainly just suppress, hip fire, etc, so it still creates suppression/a challenge while remaining fun
So the modlist we use is this one: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1888877753&searchtext=292nd (all the mods are listed as dependencies for that one mod), for zeusing/mission making specefically the most important mod is Zeus Enhanced, 3den, Zeus & Eden Interiors and Ace obviously
It's still pretty strong, the players just have the best body armor in the game and a higher damage threshold (they can take x4 the normal amount of wounds before being forced uncon)
One thing I learnt years back by one of the best Zeus's in the game (Luetin09) was that you dont KILL your playerbase, you pin them down, make them feel as if they are under heavy fire, give them excitement and a feeling of competition, but you just ignore all that and kill kill kill using everything at your disposal, sorry but not a good Zeus for me.
I feel like we may have watched 2 different videos 👀 Edit: After doing a quick google search on Luetin (and from what I've remembered Liru saying about him), supposedly he wasn't really that good of a Zeus, from what I've seen (especially towards the end) his ops were very unenjoyable for the people playing them (in other words you may have some nostalgia goggles going on). Personally, I've been Zeusing in Arma 3 since 2018 and over time have developed my own style that (from what I can tell and have been told) is enjoyed. I also quite literally never outright kill players. This is about an hour and 15ish minutes worth of footage & I've included pretty much every time I RCed a unit for instance, and there's only twice I even downed someone (which though not included in the video I immediately used "Toggle consciousness" to wake them back up so they could start bandaging themselves). Otherwise when I'm RCing I'm almost constantly purposefully missing, moving very slowly and AI like so they have plenty of time to react, and only occasionally actually shooting the players, generally in their limbs as that won't knock them out. Something else to keep in mind is the players have their damage threshold set to 4, which means they can take 4 times the damage a normal unit would before they go down. 2 or even 3 AI squads won't wipe out a player squad with these settings, hence the huge amounts of AI.
You should check the video again. He did what most experienced Zeuses did - only suppress and injure, and only outright kill if the players play extremely poorly. You can see this quite clearly.
Wasted opportunity to use the Confederate flag boonie hats from SOG Prairie Fire and M1 Abrams tanks with Confederate flags on their barrels to represent the rebels
The Fallujah Veterans are gonna go crazy during this Civil War
The way this is set up is a lot better, it's easier to follow and gives the video more character
agreed
Miltia is not armed with AR15s. 0/10. literally unplayable
Actually quite a few of them were, every squad had a guy with an AR-15 and another with an AR-10! I made sure they had a huge variety of weapons to really give them that "unorganized" feel tho
Can confirm on the Ar-15 and 10s, the 10s hurt a bit when we were hit.
@@TheMaxORyanany American force is unreasonably organised. I speak from experience
@@TheMaxORyanI feel most if not all of them would have one
@@fbl2619 Less fun than having them have a wide variety tho
I think having that intro makes you different from other Zeus/arma UA-cam channels it makes it feel more like a movie
I like it this means I like it lol
I'm glad you like it! I wanted to do my best to tell a story with the op and put a lot of effort into that intro!
cool zeusing and mission design, the narrative is also told very well

Ironically I rewatched a24 civil war not long ago. Then this pops up in my feed.
glowies?
I love this Format you‘ll be famous soon!
I truly hope that you keep making these Civil War videos and keep learning from each video you make. Keep it up man
13:14 Cut to a clip of Oddball entering a room with an empty rifle
you are crazy underrated. great content.
Thank you so much! I'm hoping to keep growing bigger and not be underrated someday soon haha
suprised with how grounded sounding the intro was. an entire book written like that would be so awesome
deserves farrrrr more than 700something views, keep it up!
Relly good video, i love this set up, you have a new subscriber

Nice to know what was happening in these operations and what they’re all about
Story told very well, the media coverage felt real and this all seemed somewhat realistic. Very enjoyable

Ok im only about a minute in but this scenario seems shockingly possible
This is good shit, you need more subscribers
Thanks man, and hey I'm hoping this vid will help get me more
Wow, this was just awesome! I have nothing else to say
How tf do u only have 305 subscribers at this moment u derserve more
Thanks man that means a lot! I'm growing with every video so hopefully before the end of the year I'll be over a thousand 😁
new subscriber I enjoyed this format a lot!
very similar setting to Designated Survivor. love it tho!
I don't like that this seems entirely plausible. Lol. Good video!
Im from FL i totally believe we would start it too😂
Believe it or not one of the biggest contributing factors to making it Florida was just that the Limestone map is probably the best US map on the Arma Steam Workshop lmao
Why is there a poster of Holo 2:03 lol just super random
It's my calling card at objectives lmao, I'll generally have 3 per mission at the areas that have intel/other important info
@@TheMaxORyan thats an awesome calling card btw
Just watched the movie civil war really glad I can see this in Arma now
14:17 Man took the words right out of my mouth.
This is already way better than the Civil War movie, lmao
Pretty cool video! Love it!

Thanks grandma

I am getting a PC soon and would love to join in on scenarios like this !
the explanation at the beginning is pretty good.
Please make more new episodes of this scenario
I'm editing the sequel to this op right now, it should be out by tomorrow!
@@TheMaxORyan My friend after a see the Civil War movie. Try to find some videos of Arma 3 like the movie scenario.

There is not, though I might upload the Vods down the line if there's a big enough demand

2:35 what kind of arma player are you
Man this video was great! +1 sub what map are you using for this? it seems rare in arma to get on that would actually pass as a western country.

@TheMaxORyan No.
W that you've explained it I can see your point in that regard.
this is the def of a good zues
God damn, i hope this doesn't really happen, my ptsd would be carried away
is there a channel for any of the players that took part?
Unfortunately not, or at least not yet
I cant join the discord, any help
?
Why not ?.? Is there a specific error or something that comes up when you try?
wow not alot of optics which is weird
do you have a zeus mod list?
