It would be interesting to see the gold mine operation and especially how they classify the ore, I am sure not much gets past them to the tailing pile.
Sweet adventure and such a small world. My son and I came across a bunch of the same materials you were going through and did find some terminated crystals and other shapes along with pyrite cubes very small to. Some of the pieces sure set the metal detector off and we had discriminated iron and foil out thank you
At least some MoT inspector or roads crew didn't pull up and tell you to "move along". But then, I didn't see any signs up saying "No Collecting" like there are in some parts of Ontario.
remember they just discovered fools gold has tiny amounts of real gold in it after all, so now were not all as foolish I suppose. nice looking cubes to !
I looked over these rocks with a microscope and didn't see anything that jumped out at me as gold. I plan on trying to crush some just to see if I can pan any
Ahh ..was thinking about you just yesterday.. it’s tree time.. you and daughter Amy going out for a tree soon??. Good seeing you posting again.. I was wishing for gold..❤️☮️.
Looking for help please. I have just got my prospecting licence for ontario and am confused about a few things like....whats a boundary claim and legacy claim or historic claim....can i prospect these areas or no ? Where can i hand sample with out Infringing. Im from sudbury...seems like theres no open land available here. There are claims...legacy claims...boundary claims and historic claims every where.....thank you kindly
good stuff mate. There's certainly some interesting places along your highways. Merry Christmas to you and yours if we don't see you on here beforehand.
I helped build a coal wash plant where the process started with a rotary breaker. Material that would not break down to 2” was ejected out the end. Some days I’d find nodules of iron pyrite as big as your fist. I’d save them and give them away, they were so cool.
Damn it, only you and a couple other people i am subbed to with problems not getting notified. Now i got a couple to go through, i see you have been posting about once a mmonth. But no fu$@g notification
Greig, great video, love those pyrite crystals! Did the quartz rock show any gold under magnification? On a separate question, you made a video a while back, I can't find it after quite some searching, you were using a reciprocating tool, a tiny one to slowly chip layers of rock off your minerals, which one was that video, do you remember? Appreciated.
No. North Eastern Not. There is a creek by Red Lake that I heard good story about placer by someone that moose hunted there. Sometime, I would like to check it out myself
All those glittery ones brings in the holiday cheer.
A little vein of gold would have been nice too. LOL
Nice spot Greig! I hope you find gold👍. Have a great holiday season.
Happy holidays!

Gold at $2600.00 being a new be I would put my pin pointer over it or my $300 falcon metal detector over it
A fun place to check out rocks. Can't wait for the next one. 😊 😷⚒
At least some MoT inspector or roads crew didn't pull up and tell you to "move along". But then, I didn't see any signs up saying "No Collecting" like there are in some parts of Ontario.

Did you get sorted out? I just saw this now
good stuff mate. There's certainly some interesting places along your highways. Merry Christmas to you and yours if we don't see you on here beforehand.
Merry Christmas Wayne
You can still get gold from
Gold pyrite! And definitely the quartz! Just process them if you want gold 😇✌️
I have a small crusher to try out with these rocks. Will pan the fines to see if anything appears in another video
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to Greig and Family ☃❄🎄
And Merry Christmas to you too
Great video, thanks for sharing.

Glad you're okay. Was getting worried. Happy Holidays, Greig and family!

I guess YT hates me. lol
Have a fantastic winter meminer, happy holidays to your and yours!!!
Same to you!
I thought I saw gold in that one rock!
Dude, i have been wondering if u r ok. I had not heard from you in awhile. Glad to see you and isnt it time fof Amy to cut down the family tree???
We have snow and wild trees that need to be "tamed". lol
Rock @09:17 looks like an elephant face
Fijne feestdagen en een gelukkig nieuwjaar alvast!!
Those pyrite crystals are cool!

There might be a tiny bit of gold but nothing really obvious under magnification. The tool was called an air scribe
@@meMiner thank you for your reply back
Another good video Greig. Now I’m itching for the snow to go to start rock hunting.
We all get cabin fever waiting for the snow to leave. lol
Would a metal detector tell you if there was gold in the rock, or would pyrite mess that up?
Metal detector would help especially if there is visible gold,, except beside a highway (like here) so there is also quite a bit of junk
But pyrite does have a percentage of Gold in it, yes?
It can
Woo hoo glad to see you upload!
Thank you Graig, was waiting for a video ,interesting as always. Well done !
meMiner!!
Do you sell any of these rocks you find?
No. I collect for fun
Would it be possible to use a metal detector there?
Might be interesting to try. However, highway ditches tend to have quite a bit of junk
I have missed you meMiner!
Thanks Bruce
I too am glad to to have you back.✌️
thanks much
Enjoyed Thanks 👏
Thanks poppa
Red Lake District?
