You never fail to describe the taste perfectly. I will probably never get to try all of the varieties you review, but I'm pretty sure I know exactly what I'm in for when I do. 😁😁😁
Thanks Bryan, I wished I had someone explain and did a taste review on all these varieties to me when I started growing Dragon Fruits so I wouldn't end up with so many varieties in my garden now. Hehe :) When you get the chance to bite into these mythical fruits you'll be in love at first bite!
No way! A dragon fruit that taste like lychee/longan? So instead of eating 30-ish lychee/longan, I can eat 1 dragonfruit? Heck yeah! I'm buying some cuttings. Thanks for the taste review.
Must be a tough job tasting dragon fruit but I know you’re up to the challenge. Thanks for taking one for the team to give us the rating and brix score!
Thanks for the great insight and details about the variety. Is it possible to also add if it's a self pollinating or not in the detail/summary section?
I hear a lot about how it closely resembles those fruits and I didn't think it would be that true to the taste. It blew my mind when I took a bite and those were the first flavors of comparison that popped up in my head! Definitely an amazing variety to have and eat! Yummy!
@@lemontea128 ok thanks for your response. I live in North Carolina it stays pretty warm but we do get winter feeling in Jan, Feb, it tends to be up and down weather hot cold.
Hi Danny, thank you for watching. The time to harvest purple haze would be 3 weeks after it turns color to red. I don't have a specific date for them and kind of just follow the 2-3 weeks after color changes rule.
Can Haley's Comet pollen be uses to pollinate Purple Haze? I bought cuttings of the Sugar Dragon to use as a "universal pollinator" as you suggested, but they won't be flowering for a long time. Thanks!
Hi Noiseparty, I don't have any VooDoo Child fruits to do a taste review. I would love to take up on your offer on those VooDoo Child fruits you have. How can I get in contact with you and set that up? Thank you for reaching out to me about them! You're awesome! Feel free to join my Dragon Fruit facebook group and send me a messenger through there. Or you can leave me your contact and I'll get in touch with you. Here's the link to my FB group. -- facebook.com/groups/339405923306378/
My plant just gave me my first bloom can’t wait have had it for almost a year and a half and barely got my first bloom I’m wondering what I did wrong :(
PURPLE HAZE IS A LARGE SWEET FRUIT WITH RELATIVELY FEW SEEDS. THE FRUIT WEIGH UP TO TWO POUNDS, AND THEY HAVE A PLEASANT GAPE, KIWI-LIKE FLAVOR. THIS VARIETY IS SELF POLLINATING, AND LIKE ALL OF THE OTHER MAGENTA FLESHED FRUIT IT WILL SET FRUIT ON ITS OWN.
Wow, that's amazing! Purple Haze variety is normally self-sterile so they can't produce fruits with its own pollen. You have a rare Purple Haze variety.

You make my mouth water when you do this tasting especially this kind, the purple Hayes. I hope I can buy some of your cuttings.
Thank you Emmanuel, Ill have cuttings available after the fruiting season ends. You can contact me again in December for cuttings.

I love longan and lychee, so I can’t wait for my PH to mature and bear its first fruit! 😋

Hey How long does it take to bear fruit?
@@destinee9903 depending on your climate n care, around 2 yrs. people living in SoCal had some fruit within a year.

@@destinee9903 you’re welcome. Just make sure to protect them when temps fall below 40 F
It's a sad day when your Purple Haze blooms flowers before your Sugar Dragon does...... Come one Sugar Dragon I need pollen!
I'm wondering if a regular cactus pollen would pollinate Purple Haze? Might have to try as a last resort
Love this channel!! Learning tons. One thing: growing up in Hawaii, we pronounced lychee with a hard I vowel sound. Were we wrong?
I just got this cutting am so excited for it ! ✨
Will there be an announcement when the website will be open ?
Thanks for Purple Haze DF taste review. How many days before harvest?

I would love to see a tour of your df plants
Maybe, next year I'll offer a tour to my garden with DF tasting at the end of the tour.

Hi Richard I'm from Iraq , what is the ideal temperature and humidity for growing dragon fruit if we are to grow it in reserves.
#amazing
I must try this!!! Also, what is that piece of equipment?
what kind brix scale do you use Richard?
is it self pollinated?
Ela e auto fértil???
Could I cross pollinate with a NIGHT-BLOOMING CEREUS?
You possibly can, they are from the same genus. I know you can use dragon fruit pollen to cross pollination the night blooming cereus.
Question, I just bought a potted dragon fruit that they said was named cosmic purple. Is that the same as purple haze.
Hermit Purple
Cosmic Charlie may be, another seedling from the cross .
Can you do a Voodoo Child brix and review. If you need any, I have some fruit. I live in Monterey Park, Ca.

I'm here bc mine is not good just wanted to see what it was suppose to taste like it's flavorless
I only got the frozen kind of course frozen isn't as good
The lady lied to me, I was advised that the purple haze variety is self fertile. Smh
