It would be worth paying Nino's fare just to get him over to give the rampage line a go - the full Team Scott experience - start him on the Gambler to learn it, then the Ransom and finally the Spark
That's definitely one of your best all time videos....Scott must be well impressed with both the bike and your showing it of like that ...apart from the gripes about the bar width 🤣🤣 ...you got nerves of steel mate 👍👍 ....nice one really enjoyed it.
People underestimate just how hard it is to actually ride an XC bike on technical trails…well done. Next time give it a go on the previous generation 100mm bike haha.
Hey Bren, would love to see a few off bike videos! Maybe show us the new RS6 and the house progress! Maybe something like the shed tours and the cabin renovation from Dirt Magazine way back when. Keep up the great work!
I've been out on the Vancouver's North Shore on a 2022 Spark a few times recently and have been well impressed by the capability of the bike. Kind of fun mixing it up and taking a break from the big bike.
Another great video but id say I'm not the only one who looks forward to seeing more on the your backyard jump line!! It would be awesome to have Pilgs or Bernard rip it with you 😎
Besides your balls of titanium I'm mostly impressed with the strength of the frame but particularly the wheels on that bike. If anything is a testament to your technique as well as how far these machines have came in design and manufacturing. Makes you wonder if most of us are just overbiked with 150mm plus trail and enduro bikes 😏
I ride an XC full-suspension everywhere, and more often than not, I'm faster than the trail bike/enduro riders I see in bike parks. Skills aside, XC bikes in general are faster than the bigger bikes on flowtrails, so if you mainly ride easier trails, maybe some gravel or road, I think an XC bike is a better option.
Man I wouldn't do this on a DH rig with full kit. The absolutely most impressive part about riding this hard on that bike is the fact that you are on XC casing tyres
what about throwing some proper bars and tyres on the thing and doing a comparison? will grippier tyres even fit that frame?, keep the lycra tho, that's important
I was confused when he said Basingstoke, I thought recognised a few of the trails he was riding and the conditions to be that of surrey hills. The jumps he did with the seat up are on a trail called northern monkey. they are way bigger in person. I used to get called an idiot for doing them on a turner with 100mm xc forks and there is no mistaking that trail as I used to ride it weekly.
@@charliecook6909 yeah I think with this year in 2022, the only two spark's scott makes are the regular spark (downcountry version) and the spark rc (xc version). The regular spark has 130 mm in the front now and 120 in the rear, and I think its brand new for this year so in the past it was probably different. Its also got thicker tires, a slacker head tube angle, and more. ua-cam.com/video/dNmWQSztzdY/v-deo.html
@Mark George makes sense the world cup xc tracks have probably got abit hard-core for a 100mm xc race bike these day , the trail/downcounty spark sounds pretty awsome and probably alot more fun on the down hills than the rc version
As someone who owned a scott spark and took it to a downhill park they are very capable but I do prefer my scott genius instead for most trail rides. They have built a pretty solid platform from my experience riding
Wide bars are really slow, wind resistance, passing others, etc. I have around 500 mm on my XC bike. I did stuff like that on my 980 gram carbon frame just to see if I should trust it. Worst part is the way they can sail unpredictably on jumps, and having to re-tension the spokes after every ride. Those frames are amazingly strong for something that weighs less than the box it ships in, but I don't think it would hold up long term.
LOL! Narrow 700 something bars, I'd like to see dude ride a 90's XC bike or even DH bike, no dropper either, that would be hilarious. Opening up your arms doesn't make you faster when pedaling, road and XC are narrow because any pedaling over about 14mph flat or slight uphill give an advantage, road bars are 38-42 generally and they depend on breathing far more than gravity riding, once used to narrower bars the wider stuff feels like you have to exaggerate movements to get the bike to do any maneuvering. BMX and even full on MX bars aren't even wide compared to some gravity rider's bars. Scott should send Brendan to ride with some pedaling pro's someday, could make a great video, I'd like to see Brendan on a road bike as well.
Hi Brendan I heard u say that you where in Basingstoke and I was just wondering where that was? As I live in Basingstoke and really want some narly tech to ride. Thanks 🙏
i think you should Ride on a Puky Bike this Trail with your skills , faster then i on my Enduro Bike , realy nice Video IT Shows that Suspension doesnt Matters If you got the fkn pro skills haha
Great bike , rides smooth ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L I added a bigger spring loaded seat to it . Takes a bit of adjusting cables to get brakes and shifting to perfect . I've owned quite a few bikes in the past that were absolutely uncomfortable to ride and they always ended up as garage wall decor . I'm not seeing that with this one. It's pretty light I've only ridden it a few miles but I like it . As for the pedals falling off in the other reviews , the pedal arms are aluminum along with the pedal studs look to be also . I would not overtighten them. I can see it would be very easy to overtighten them and strip the threads right off . All in all I think it's pretty good quality besides the aluminum pedal thing .
That doesn't surprise me one bit with the way bikes keep morphing, today's xc bikes are basically short travel trail bikes from a few years ago, this so called xc bike has a 0.7 degree steeper head angle and 10mm less fork travel than my 2019 norco fluid fs1, and if you rotate the headset bearings the head angle basically becomes the same as my norco, and my norco handles everything I throw at it, I also do it on vittoria barzo xc-trail tyres, which are surprisingly grippy.
the video and idea is awesome but your sound is a let down, because in one moment it is low and you can hear hardly anything and the next momenty it blows your ear drums... T_T
It would be worth paying Nino's fare just to get him over to give the rampage line a go - the full Team Scott experience - start him on the Gambler to learn it, then the Ransom and finally the Spark
The speed he hit that corner after the drop!! 😱
The whip with the dropper post up at 10:26 has me rollin' 🤣
Pure EGGS SEE whippage yo
sorry after all these years I still can't take it seriously
that last one was nuts! it wasn't apparent just how fast you were going, until i saw the clip from the stationary camera near the bottom of the hill.
We use xc frames all the time. But we mod them. Bigger forks, better tires, slacker headsets. Super fun to ride and cheap.
That's definitely one of your best all time videos....Scott must be well impressed with both the bike and your showing it of like that ...apart from the gripes about the bar width 🤣🤣 ...you got nerves of steel mate 👍👍 ....nice one really enjoyed it.
Love how he keeps talking about how he shouldn’t. Then proceeds to send.
People underestimate just how hard it is to actually ride an XC bike on technical trails…well done. Next time give it a go on the previous generation 100mm bike haha.
Having just done the rampage line a couple of weeks ago, that is an insane thing to do on that bike with those tires😂🙈
next time he goes back to that rampage line it'll be on a dirt jump bike haha
@@i-_-am-_-g1467 Does Scott have a nice hardtail bike?
@@fpeter01they do
Gotta be a like just for the bike control on the rampage line, fair play Bren!
Hi where is that rampage line?
Hey Bren, would love to see a few off bike videos! Maybe show us the new RS6 and the house progress! Maybe something like the shed tours and the cabin renovation from Dirt Magazine way back when. Keep up the great work!

You've got some nerves of steel! I just crashed and broke my shoulder on wet leaves and it was about 100x easier than what you're doing!
"I didn't want to do this" - Yeh right! Excellent!! 🤘🏼🤙🏼🙏🏼
Acctually looked like you were trying to go as fast as possible - in total control!
Another great video but id say I'm not the only one who looks forward to seeing more on the your backyard jump line!! It would be awesome to have Pilgs or Bernard rip it with you 😎
Nice video, I would love to se another ride with this bike, just with proper tires, to se what the bike actually are capable of
absolutely railed that berm at the end 😳😂 insane!
Most people are way over biked. It’s why I went to a hard tail. If I could find a fs with enduro geo and 120mm travel I would buy it instantly.

I would have been ok with you putting enduro casings on 🤣.
That last line looked hectic
absolutely mad skills making that turn
I Love how quiet the bike is
I mean, the Rampage line - bonkers… But those jumps with the seat up…! 😱 🤟😎👊
Where is Thais rampage line?
As someones that ownes and rides 2 xc hardtails this allot of fun to watch
You definitely had you RB head on and Benny knew it 😂 Thanks fella, risking it for us all. Big Up🎉🎉🎉🎉
gnarly ending with shaking hands !!! Wow
what about throwing some proper bars and tyres on the thing and doing a comparison?
will grippier tyres even fit that frame?, keep the lycra tho, that's important
it fits 2.4-2.5 as a max
Hey Brendog , rode all the tracks around Basingstoke all my life , but please inform me where you was , as I need to try that drop on my XC Kona 👍
I was confused when he said Basingstoke, I thought recognised a few of the trails he was riding and the conditions to be that of surrey hills. Epic dude 🤙put some 130mm forks on the spark and some wider bars maybe some winter tyres thing would be a beast
thats pretty much the regular downcountry spark lol, in this video he is using the spark rc version
@Mark George didn't realise they done a 130mm spark , when I had a spark it was just 100mm and 120mm

You should modify the bike, like put widder bars, a good 4 pistons front brake and some trail tires, you could do some interesting stuff
As a downcountry owner needed this 👍🏿
Now try a 50lb steel framed cruiser with reverse pedal brakes on that run . THAT would be scary ,,,just before you crashed and died .😱
XC bikes have come a long way. I tried that shit on my XC back in 96 and potato chipped the front end. Cost me 5 broken bones.
Nevermind the bike, what’s the camo jacket? I like that!

Bonkers 😮 Is this really Basingstoke and not Surrey Hills?
too good!
the lycra kills me
One of those times the stupid was almost not worth it. Wow talent at 11
Narrow bars are for the xc bar spins of course
Notice you could do climbs easier with those bars than with renthal risers right?
Don't stop on the trails dude 😪
Legend!😂🤙🏻
I love see you do on a proper xc ride Brandon maby you can do the same with a Scott Scale.
Narrower bars for passing on tight corners in races or being surrounded in tight groups??
Probably 740mm. So not super narrow.
5:12 that whip looks identical to the ones Nino do
If anyone ever says "I'm under biked" tell them to watch this 😎 brendog 🤙🤙
What compound and thickness do you use on the death grips
15:25 If the tire didn’t hit that fallen tree, he was going to fly/slide sideways, “in lycra”, as he said at the end.
Insane 🤘
thats nuts xD insane mate
Limiting factor surely are the tires not suspension and frame?
All hail the catch berm.
Are you gonna be doing a video on the new Lumen eRide SL?
You are a mad man!!! 😂
I feel exactly the same on my XC bike. Go a tad slower and have about as much fun.
14:08 WELL THAT WAS INSANE
15:30 pinball mode engage 😂😂😂
This may be where mtb needs to go… best riders xc bikes / down country on enduro courses
Would bars be shorter as for xc you would go through wooded areas on no real set line so getting through trees are easier
So.... I grew up in Basingstoke... don't recall any of these trails
lol
i think you should Ride on a Puky Bike this Trail with your skills , faster then i on my Enduro Bike , realy nice Video IT Shows that Suspension doesnt Matters If you got the fkn pro skills haha
It is much harder to control on wet fall leaves
Harder than a Walmart bike
More Videos please :)
Big spuds dude 😲🤣🤣
some Forekasters and a longer travel dropper and youd be grand!
Sick 😂…subscribing to see more utterly pointless s#!t … do not die 😂
Bars too skinny. Tires too slick. Nothing a little speed won’t cure. 😅😅😅
I think you found the limit and some on that bike! 😅
Fucking legend 💪💪💪
Did you get an answer on the bars?
Narrow bars also means you're more aero
5000 + bikes are just too stupid to pay for. We buy used off pinkbike and build ultralight trail beasts.
Wide bars make it to difficult to thread the needle through the pack
Where are these mega trails?
New intro clip added Bren.

I'll bet it'll descend way better with trail tires

My gosh!! That was ridiculous, I hope you never do that again ahha
Now do the same with proper tires to see the difference
10:09 - Well, I suppose it is.
short bars r probably used cos weight reduction
I guarentee you i could do a real number on that. Send it my way! Ill put it to the test!
Subtitles would help. 😊
he doesnt do this with the sit up he has a droper
the video and idea is awesome but your sound is a let down, because in one moment it is low and you can hear hardly anything and the next momenty it blows your ear drums... T_T
where you at bro?
Bro ! Fuck u bn like, nearly bought odubb bars to go with my brendog ice/ death grip haha, shit saddle lol slippery as fuck lol
Blame deaks isi haha 😄
And defi 35mm 35mm stem
Shitty audio balance between low & high i would say dangerous
Mad. Hahaha!
25 FPS should just die already. Just saying.
Olympics Gold was Pidcock on his BMC 😉
Haha true
Brendog still right: Nino was gold in Rio, 2016! 🙂
