Another gem....beautiful. ..love the use of colors in your paintings these last months. The sparkles give that extra punch..like that you decided to highlight the left evergreen. ..just right. May you and your family have a blessed holiday. God bless you kevin and thank you for all that you do... I agree with other comment the editing and not skipping essential parts is truly helpful...Enjoyed watching as always, your a natural at teaching and your passion for painting is an inspiration. Very beautiful scenery.
Happy New Year Kevin..Sophie and to the Hill family. May your year bring you happiness..joy..inspiration..health..and prosperity. God bless you Kevin And Sophie...thank you for all that you do..teaching us...inspiring...motivating...sharing all your thoughts on painting...you've worked hard... Your certainly the best on UA-cam..and artist of today...the yrs certainly went by fast...seems like yesterday when you posted your first video..God willing to the Hill family your year shall be bright..
Another beautiful scene...again learned a lot while you paint and tell is your thoughts...very valuable info...I think every video I've learned something New..going back to the oldies but goodies as well. Love your choice of color and always harmonious throughout... An artists color mixing, and brushwork is what makes each artist stand out...really beautiful...wonderful way to end the yr. One thing that's so valuable learned from you..and not easy for some or noticeable unless you really listen...is when painting...get in there. Prep..have a plan..although may change...but don't be afraid...it's all about learning...can't hit that note unless You go for it. ..And that's what you do...don't be afraid it's only paint...practice along with mistakes is all part of the learning curve. .. God bless you Kevin and your family...thank you for all that you do... I didn't know you moved...so congrats on your new home and may God willing you make wonderful memories with your family...and thank you to Sophie for all of her hard work as well...highly appreciated.. .
Abdessalam Doukkali Kevin has acrylic paintings on this channel...also full lessons available on his website...along with his signature paints and brushes. I'm an oil painter...I started out with acrylics and just didn't have The patience...to me it takes more time and it's not an easy medium to work with...I can say I bought his acrylic paints to try them out...I do use acrylic under oils a lot..and his paints are very good quality... I can honestly recommend them...when I started out...I bought every brand...liqutex..W&N..Golden..Golden fluids. I learned from Kevin ..is not to make things difficult if you don't have to...guess I'm a brush hoarder as well...anyway...having the colors he uses along with his medium saves money...and great quality. ..stick to one brand you like and a palette of colors that any other color can be mixed....lesson for me learned and save money...good luck .happy holidays...and paint on...
Another beautiful scene...love the color harmony. ..your a master... Can you please when you have time. ..explain what kind of lighting do you use in the studio. ..like the bulb...and how far away from canvas is it.. Also...the height of the canvas when standing to paint...like where should the canvas be if standing as you are...thank you appreciate it...
Please Kevin can you do a DVD lesson on this one...please... There's so much to learn here...and a beautiful scene...the colors are so wonderful as well...
This is great. I'm learning so much. Thanks! Would love to see a video in which you reveal your brush management process. I know you solvent-free, and I'd like to get there. But I'm curious how you clean the pallet and brushes, and store them. And, like, how do you store your linseed oil, rags, etc...Also, things like, what's your easel setup? Like, below the magnetized brushes. Sounds silly, but I sometimes find myself digging around for things, and what I think is an orderly setup turns out not to be. :) I've captured bits and pieces from various videos and full-length videos, but I also know you've changed your setup a bunch. Help! Thanks!
Love this landscape. As some others have requested, would you please make a DVD of this particular painting? I would buy one even though I only use Acrylic Paints. Or, could you please make a DVD at least similar to this one while using Acrylics, please? I appreciate either version you may make because this is a gorgeous landscape. Thank you for.taking the time to share your techniques of painting with us.
Your work is very pleasing to the eye. Your head keeps one from viewing how you work. Talk to your photographer! It is helpful to view what you are working from to help one see why you are doing what you do. Thank you. hbd
I'm totally HOOKED on your videos! Discovered your channel this week and I'm going one by one, watching every single one in order to get down to your very first video. You made me decide to start oil painting. I still need to get my supplies but I have a couple questions. 1. Timing. Upon researching, it turns out oil paintings take a HECK OF A TON of time. I'm just curious, since you never mention it, how much time is between the cuts in your videos? It seems like you just painted some more stuff in minutes and then jumpcut to another layer. So is it minutes, hours or months between jumpcuts? And can you please talk about finishing paintings? Do you varnish your paintings? If so, after how long and how do you store them before varnishing? 2. My brain's a mush trying to understand all the other supplies aside from the actual paint - oils, solvents, alkyds, primers etc etc etc. Could you please talk about those in videos? It seems like there are only paints and nothing else on your palette so I was convinced you only used paints. Thank you so much for your videos as they are now my addiction. Hope you could address some of my concerns in future. Looking forward for more! Best wishes to you Kevin!
All I can say is use the very very very least amount of oil paint for each layer otherwise it will take weeks for some to dry...using too much was my first mistake...good luck tho👍oil is so nice compared to others in my opinion
I like the soft tones of this painting, but it took me a while to get used to it. Most of my paintings have a brighter sky with a little “Bob Ross“ blue, if you know what I mean. I have never tried coding only the top half with clear gel or liquid white. I was originally schooled by Bob Ross back in the day and I typically coat the whole canvas without thinking about it.
Your command of light in paintings is extraordinary. Very beautifully done, Kevin!
Keep pumping out the dvds and digital downloads Kevin. They’ve all been so good and helpful.
