- Devil Jin and Josie's rage art were changed as there was some controversy about re-using Soul Calibur critical animations during release.

Fun fact : They planned to have RA cancel for everyone, that's why Dragunov's Rage Art in the Arcade is basically like Paul and Bryan. Paul is the first one and the last one to have the RA cancel, they scrapped this idea when Fated Retribution which explains why Paul is the only one that has a RA cancel.

@@NN-ru9md For Yoshi, I don't have an answer. For Devil Jin and Josie, it is pretty obvious that they were rushed and reused stuff from Soul Calibur 5. For Yoshi, I simply don't have an answer. It is pretty likely that they used an unused Critical Edge animation from Soul Calibur 5 but this is just an assumption.
But why is it OK for paul to have it if no one else can have it
I suppose the introduction of Rage Drives made them scrap that idea
@@NN-ru9md Yoshi's doesn't cancel. He has 2 rage arts, one of which is a beefed up flash (counter) making it seem like he's cancelling

If by cooler you mean game play wise with the quick rage art , I can understand . But in terms of animations and coolness , I’ll stick with the console version . Even if they feel over lasting , at least they took the time to put some efforts with the animations , and personalities put into it. Drag ‘s RA in the arcade version is basically a collection of his basic moves , it feels rushed .

I don't understand why they changed Devil Jin's Rage Art. So what if it was inspired by the Soul of Devil Jin style from Soul Calibur V? That's HIS style!
It was lame. Comparing it to console version rage art is like comparing warm water with solid ice. One is cooler than the other.
The laser at the end of the arcade version is lame as shit. Way better cinematograohy on the console version.

The lighting is different, some stages look better
The arcade version had realistic, natural lighting in it's stages whereas in FR they added unnatural, over-saturated colour filters to them for whatever reason.
I played Tekken 7 1500+ games in Tokyo in 2015 so i got really familiar with it and when it came out on consoles i was dissapointed it didn't look as good. I hoped the PS4 Pro version could be the same since that and the arcade version are 1080p but it was still far off.
The PC version looks much better overall in 4K but it still has a different feel than the arcade version.
I was especially impressed with how good every character's skin looked in the arcade version.
That's cuz the Arcade machine was a more powerful PC than PS4/XB1

- i5 3550S (both revisions
- revision B: 8Gb Ram ddr3 2400MHz/ revision X: 16 Gb Ram ddr3 2400MHz
- revision B: gtx 650 ti
revision X: gtx 680
- plus of course generic HD audio, Windows 7 embedded edition (whatever that means), etc.
Edit even if that was revision x gtx 680 is rip off card that was fake nvidia high end xx80 card because during that time amd had troubles competing with nvidia and nvidia decided instead releasing proper xx80 card release planned gtx 670 as premium gtx 680 card. that planned true flagships was released as gtx 780 / gtx 780 ti but on that point they were too much outdated and that's why kepler isn't remembered that good by gamers.
Dragunov was lucky enough to have his Rage Art changed with a good one, while the other got only camera changes.
Both of Devil Jin are good, but the Arcade version is so much cooler and brutal, too bad they changed It👀
Bruh devil jin's rage art in the arcade is pretty bad, the start of the rage art was pretty cool but the ending was just trash
Drags is cool but it takes way too much time. As a drag main it's so boring to see the same cutscene of him just walking over
they had to change it, just like the josie one cuz it was ripped from soul caliber
It's cool, but it takes waaay to long. Same with Negan, like... geeee.
Hope they go the Smash Bros Route, where Final Smashes are short and sweet.
It bugs me so much how Josie's lips don't move when she says "Take THIS!" in her reworked Rage Art.

I would like to see original RA in Tekken 8, if they are building everything from scratch, there's a lot of potential, I can imagine pretty cool stuff
I mean Jin's was ultimately just another variation of "launch em high into big punch" so i'm not holding my breath tbh.
But yeah, hopefully they step their game up.

They're not building movesets from scratch though, that statement pertains to visuals & aesthetics. They'll keep using the same animation engine that they've been using since T5. Can expect them to update legacy animations though

@@albertricks The player isn't expected to know behind the scenes stuff, so it's all cool, my guy. That said, I did think Kazuya's Hellsweep animation was different but idk if that was just cinematic thingy for the trailer or they actually updated it.
Man, looking at all the RAs made me wish the devs didn't change them to more original versions.
Josie' RA is so expressive, and Devil Jin looks so Savage.

I want an arcade version…the shading is way better
In some stages only imo. The last stage show with Steve looks way better on console. The white balance in the arcade one gives a kinda piss snow effect

Arcade version looks better in every aspect, especially with less intense colors and effects.
on PC there are edits you can do to your files to make it look as good as the arcade version

Tekken arcade always does play faster than home console version it doesn't matter which version of Tekken you play it's quite a difference transitioning from say for example devil jin arcade to console as he moves much faster though he's fairly easy because his move set doesn't vary much whereas some of the other characters have had their move sets completely altered
Idk what the change was in the polishing for console release, but as much as I enjoy Tekken 7 FR, it looks like we got a visual downgrade. I can only speculate it was for performance reasons. The arcade version shows the power of UE4 for a fighting game, but FR doesn't and that sucks.

The arcade rage arts look unfinished especially with the camera angles not being too cinematic. I do prefer how the characters introduced in the arcade have shorter rage arts compared to the rest of the cast. Don't like how rage arts are just regular moves or re used animations half the time. In tekken 8 i'd prefer them to be shorter, be more original and have more complicated inputs, it sucks accidentally inputting RA when u just want another move.
I wish they didn't change Bryan's RA.

With the release of the new trailer, I've seen mouthbreathers claiming Arcade release had better graphics than console release and that they are downgrading everything again. Shit is crazy, people need to get their eyes checked.
1:48 I like the warmer color that the arcade had. Bluish tint doesn't seem to match the a desert area imo
I disagree, I much prefer the adjusted white balance in the console version. I took a trip to Norway and shot a lot of photos during the time, and all of them had a bluish tint to the shadows when my white balance was calibrated perfectly. Snow is kinda bluish.

Arcade was such a different game from console... i'm glad these changes happend, i saw too many clips of the damage in the arcade release. Let's just say that every round would last 20 seconds on average in tekken 7 if it stayed like that.
You know what even bothers me more about rage arts? They move the camera too much that I don't even bother looking or knowing what they're doing!

in conlusion the arcade is like the tekken5 game while the console is like the dark resurection case in a good way along gameplay movement from t5DR and other new thing like tekken6 to almost at the end of tekken 7 before the tekken 8 which gonna take the Guilty gear strive way cuz harada said himself.
Arcade is pretty straight forward.

Arcade has better graphics with awesome finish animations I mean come on look at jins finish at arcade it's amazing.
RIP. Vanilla looked miles better and people kept saying the home version looked better and only now people are realizing this. Pretty damn worried the same downgrade will happen because people say things like: "dw bro it's just an Alpha. Stop moaning about grafiks hur durr"
It's 2023 and we should demand better. This is Namco we're talking about here afterall. You gotta understand that Tekken 8 will be here for what is probably a whole decade.
